2023.06.06 16:03 Fine-Advantage-7471 Will there be more paths/careers?
I'm playing the beta currently and I'm having tons of fun, it is really refreshing to finally be able to mingle in the universe of 40k.
That said even with all the fun that I'm having I think that there is a lack of choice for psychers compared to other paths and I find that there are many, many adepts that end up somewhat fighting for their stack of clues.
Also I must say that it is very nice to fight as a navigator and unleash the power of the warp but I do wish that my char could also use those cool spells. I have finished act 1 and I have started act 2 but these are my thoughts and I want to hear yours.
And yes this is a beta and I expect that there are things missing but maybe someone here knows of a post that the devs wrote somewhere that could give some light upon my question, thanks!

2023.06.06 16:02 ThrowRAkatiekatie I’m so bitter towards myself
woke up this morning after about a week of falling into a mini depression (compared to how it used to get without my medication.) Im out of pot and I finished my last cigarette yesterday morning. I told myself im done smoking anything because my brain just wants to do that all day when im depressed. I also binge eat and gain like 20 pounds when I smoke pot and am depressed. Once im over the low spells, I quickly try to loose the weight and do so successfully in about a month in a half.
The pattern has been my life. Im 25 and have been doing this long before I knew I had bipolar, it started when I was like 17. I would go through Taco Bell and order like 8 things on the menu and just smoke out and eat it all in one sitting then go to the next place and do it there. I would then obsessively run to loose weight while literally taking cigarette breaks. This was before I was medicated so this was how I almost tuned out of the world with my bad habits
I went about a year without doing this but recently I just randomly started doing all that I described again. I have been medicated and my brain has been feeling probably 40% better than it ever has. That difference makes the pain feel more like the normal and the more stable times feel more boring.
I don’t know. I wanted to rant. I know all of this is better than having a drug or alcohol problem but it just hurts. What I am saying is that I woke up and realized that I think I do this still to this day because I’m bitter of all the time I’ve lost to this illness. Im bitter with how it feels like the youth I could have had was robbed from me by some unpredictable illness. I think I hold onto these coping mechanisms of self destruction because I subconsciously feel I have no choice but to be this way because I don’t deserve anything more.
I wanted to get this out this morning and see if I can get a conversation going if just the absolute inconsistencies with life having bipolar disorder and how painful and hard to change it can really be.

2023.06.06 16:00 crystalized17 Narnia and Veganism
So as someone who has been
vegan for 9 years (and Seventh-Day Adventist Protestant Christian my entire life), Narnian books are certainly frustrating!
On the one hand, CS Lewis clearly loves animals because he makes some of them Talking Animals and the humans and others are always APPALLED if they find out they killed or ate a Talking Animal. But "dumb" animals are A-OK, which is so frustrating! It's like saying "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".
From what I can tell, he sincerely LOVED his dogs, but he also loved eating meat, so this was the only way he could resolve his cognitive dissonance of eating animals who were also intelligent and felt emotions same as his dogs. I see this all the time. People passionately working at animal rescue places, but then turning around and eating meat with every single meal. Amazing so many people can be so passionate about rescuing animals, but then can't let go of their addiction to meat, dairy, eggs. That said, there are many, many vegetarians and vegans in such organizations, certainly. So at least a higher portion of that population does overcome their cognitive dissonance and realize the self-contradicting absurdity they are living with.
P.S. When the corrupt Ape was the main means of communication with "Aslan" while the animals complained and wanted to speak to Aslan face-to-face as before, that's when I was like "OHHH, Lewis is protestant! Not catholic! Yay!"
😂 I assumed he was catholic just because Tolkien was.
It's so funny the incredible amount of religious stuff I see in the books now as an adult. When I first read them, I was 11 years old, so I had almost no sense of symbolism and took everything very literally. Lion = Jesus didn't even compute. Plus, the fact I was struggling to understand what was going on and who everyone was because I was mistakenly reading them in chronological order thanks to the stupid publishing industry. If I had read them in proper order, maybe the more coherent narrative would have allowed me to detect more symbolism, despite how young I was. But I didn't really start seeing symbols and extra meanings in everything (books, movies, etc) until around age 14. Age 11 was just too young. I read Lord of the Rings at age 11 too, but it was all taken very literally, no symbols or deep thoughts on it until around age 14 (when I finally also read Silmarillion).

TotK sold 10 mil in its first 3 days making it the fastest selling first party exclusive game of any platform ever. Botw sales shot up with TotK release as well. Thats 2 games in a row that will go on to sell 30 million copies. Thats numbers for a games that are exclusive to a single platform btw, for reference Elden Ring sold 20 million units LIFETIME sales at the time of TotK release across ALL platforms including Playstation, Xbox, and PC
It really lends to the idea that if you give talented devs all the money and time in the world because you can afford to, they will make a banger hit. They didnt have to stress deadlines and focused on making the best game possible as long as it took because they could lean on Nintendo to afford that. They took 6 years to make TotK, and Nintendo let them use the entire last year just for polish. I wish more studios and devs could do this instead of rushing a hot pile of shit or mediocre technical issues riddled game with a apology jpeg they typed up before launch. Imagine a world have more Elden Rings, Breath of the Wilds, Resident Evils, God of Wars then Redfalls, Gollums, Gotham Knights, and Ubisoft Clones

2023.06.06 15:43 plutos1stpopstar Wired earbuds that sorta? sound like Galaxy Buds+?
I like my Galaxy Buds but I'd like a backup that doesn't need to be charged and sometimes there's a bit of lag in games. I'm not an audiophile or "headphones person" by any means, and I just listen to music off spotify and youtube. I'm not a pro pvp gamer either who needs to hear footsteps and stuff I just play single player games like Elden Ring and Borderlands. I tagged this as earbuds but tbh I guess I wouldn't mind small profile on-ear headphone recs either!
Note: I see Moondrop but I also see reviews of the paint chipping and stuff, I'd like to get something sturdy that will last a while, preferably $40-100??
