The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Moderate Risk for severe weather for Wednesday December 14th, 2022 for parts of the Southern United States.

12:05am final comments - I will stop updating the thread for tonight. Refer to the Storm Prediction Center and National Weather Service websites for updated information on watches, warnings, and mesoscale discussions. Also refer to local news livestreams below. Plus, a couple of storm chasers in the list below are still live at the time of this comment if you're interested in watching.

NOTES - I tried recreating Wazoheat's format for megathreads on this sub and will be updating this unofficial thread regularly.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Moderate Risk for severe weather for Tuesday November 29th, 2022 for parts of the Southern United States.
A regional tornado outbreak still appears possible from northern LA into central/northern MS and potentially into western AL

Tornado Watches and Severe Thunderstorm Watches

PDS Tornado Watch #572 - Includes north Louisiana, central Mississippi, and far Southeastern Arkansas.
Primary threats include: Numerous tornadoes expected with a few intense tornadoes likely, Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter likely, and Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
Tornado Watch #573 - For portions of West central Alabama.
Primary threats include: A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible, Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely, and Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
Tornado Watch #574 - for portions of Southwest Alabama and Southeast Mississippi
Primary threats include: A few tornadoes possible, Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible, and Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
PDS Tornado Watch #575 - For Extreme southeast Arkansas, Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi, valid until 2:00am CST
Primary threats include: Several tornadoes and a few intense tornadoes likely, Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible, and Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible.
This watch replaces a portion of PDS Tornado Watch #572
Tornado Watch #576 - For Western and central Alabama Southeast Mississippi
Primary threats include: A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible, Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible, and Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

Mesoscale Discussions

MD 1977 - Northern Mississippi, northern Alabama, and far southern Middle Tennessee
SUMMARY...Marginally severe hail will be possible with elevated storms early this afternoon. No watch is expected for this activity. More intense activity is expected later this afternoon/evening.
MD 1978 - Northern LA, extreme southeast Arkansas and into central MS
SUMMARY...A PDS tornado watch will be needed by 19z/1pm CT for portions of northern Louisiana, extreme southeast Arkansas and into central Mississippi. Tornadoes, a couple potentially long-track and strong, large hail and damaging gusts will be possible into the evening hours.
MD 1979 - Southeast TX
SUMMARY...An isolated thunderstorm or two may produce hail and gusty winds across southeast TX this afternoon. A watch is not expected at this time.
MD 1980 - extreme southeast MS into southwest AL
SUMMARY...A brief supercell or two may pose a severe threat the next couple of hours. However, coverage and aerial extent of the threat is expected to be low, and a watch is not anticipated in the short-term.
MD 1981 - northeast LA into central MS
SUMMARY...Increasing potential for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes exists across northeast LA into central MS over the next few hours.
MD 1982 - Parts of northern and central Alabama
SUMMARY...A downstream tornado watch is likely for parts of northern/central Alabama as severe storms move out of MS.
MD 1983 - for portions of far southeast Mississippi into far southwest Alabama
SUMMARY...A severe threat may increase across southern portions of Mississippi and Alabama over the next few hours. The more intense storms may support hail/tornado threat. Conditions are being monitored for the need of a Tornado Watch.
MD 1984 - for northern and central Louisiana northeastward to northern Mississippi
SUMMARY...Severe-weather risk continues across the WW area, with greatest risk for significant tornadoes evident with supercells crossing northern Louisiana at this time.
MD 1985 - for portions of southeast Arkansas into northern Mississippi and Middle Tennessee
SUMMARY...A large hail threat may persist with ongoing storms over the next several hours. Conditions are being monitored for the need of a WW issuance if storms can intensify further.
MD 1986 - for northeastern Louisiana to western/central Alabama
SUMMARY...Severe/tornado risk continues across portions of WW 573/574/575.
MD 1987 - For southern to east-central Mississippi
SUMMARY...Tornado risk appears likely to be maximized in a narrow zone from southwestern to east-central Mississippi over the next hour.
MD 1988 - for portions of southeast Mississippi into western and central Alabama
SUMMARY...The severe threat continues across Tornado Watches 573 and 574, and is expected to continue into the overnight hours. A new Tornado Watch will be issued before 05Z to replace watches 573-574 and cover additional area downstream into central Alabama.
MD 1989 - for central and southern Mississippi into western and central Alabama
SUMMARY...Severe/tornado risk will continue across portions of Mississippi and Alabama over the next couple of hours.
