2023.06.06 14:49 Togepai I'm in a rut

It's been nearly a year since I was dumped, she had said we could keep in contact and although it was one sided I was willing to be amicable but distant. Then she and all her family blocked me out of nowhere, I didn't even do anything? Like I never spoke to her between the breakup and the blocking so I don't understand. I never got any closure so now I'm stuck in this cycle of what if and why, whilst also going through cycles of being over it then going straight back to wanting to reach out.
I've tried dating since then but it doesn't feel right, I keep thinking to myself they aren't my ex and they won't hurt me but at the same time that also brings a little sadness because when things were good between us it was the best feeling ever.
I'll admit, my mental health got in the way and I have let my emotions run away from themselves during our relationship but none of it was ever abusive or aggressive, just amounting to arguments over little things because I would get overwhelmed and she wouldn't see my point of view so ignored my feelings. I was doing better by the end of it but I guess she was just that ignorant about mental illness that it doesn't just happen in the space of a few weeks.
I've typed out an email because that's the only place she hasn't blocked me on as far as I'm aware. I've stayed away for this long but I need this closure and I'm trying so hard to not send her it. It isn't about getting her back because she has a new partner nor is it to get sympathy, I just want her to know that I'm still here and that I'm sorry for the damage I have caused, but not asking for forgiveness. Honestly I wanted to write a painful email in an effort to just cause her pain but no, that's what the old me would do. I'm passed hurting those who have hurt me, instead I have pointed out my flaws instead of hers.
I just want to get over it and go back to living.

2023.06.06 14:49 Blargmenarnar I got my CPA because "it would open so many doors" but the only thing I'm opening is rejection letters.

I'm an accountant with 7 years of experience in household name companies, and I just acquired my Certified public accountant license 3 months ago. I brushed up my interview skills and used chatgpt to polish my resume and cover letter as much as possible. I believe I'm ready and qualified for the next step in my career in a seniomanager role, but I've had no luck so far.
I've applied to ~25 positions in the past several months and have had 2 interviews, one of which went to the final stages but I ultimately did not receive an offer. The remaining 23 positions either sent me an immediate rejection email or nothing at all. I'm confident that my resume is strong, if nothing else there's no way it's so bad that it's preventing me from being considered.
Everyone, even interviewers, are telling me "oh your CPA will help you a lot" but it doesn't seem to be? Is this a bad employee job market or something?

2023.06.06 14:49 kaisermilo I lost my keys with wedding ring.

I work in the Forest Hill area and my job has me driving around the Southside quite a bit. They must have fallen out of my pockets at a stop or else I set them on the bumper and took off, like a dingus. Please keep an eye out for a set of keys with a Toyota key and subaru fob and a silver ring tied in a figure 8.

2023.06.06 14:49 roundwhiff Synching your fasting and eating windows with natural circadian rhythms.

Hello! New to the IF thing, and I'm really interested in giving this lifestyle a go because, well, we could all stand to be a bit healthier, especially with a ""DYI"" approach, as long as it's safe.

So, I'm still getting a grasp on all the jargon and science-y stuff, but something that really caught my eye was this concept of 'circadian rhythms'. To my understanding, it's like your body has an in-built clock (nature's pretty cool, huh?). This got me thinking - what if we align our eating and fasting windows with these rhythms? Found this article explaining when to eat for the best health benefits, and I'll share the best titbits on this.

For starters, I've always thought of metabolism as our body's fuel-burning system. Apparently, if we sync our eating times with our body's natural rhythm, it could lead to this thing called 'metabolic flexibility.' From what I gathered, it's like our bodies can easily switch between burning carbs and fats, kind of like being bilingual, but for your metabolism!

Secondly, the timing of our meals around workouts could make a difference (if we actually get into working out, of course). It's like going on a road trip - you gotta fuel up beforehand, and afterward, you might need a little maintenance. Aligning these meals with your fasting window sounds a little tricky, so I'd like more suggestions on how to do that from a scientific/medical point of view (hope it's ok to ask this here).

Also, apparently, when you eat could affect your sleep. Like, if you're snacking away while watching late-night shows, it might disrupt your body's rhythm and sleep quality, which explains a lot about my life up until now. I'm trying to cut back on late-night munchies, as my job often means staying up late or at least replacing this food with dried fruit or just water.

So that's where my head's at. Has anyone else tried syncing their fasting and eating windows with their circadian rhythm? How'd it work out? I'd love to hear about your experiences and any advice you've got.

2023.06.06 14:48 myglamcode Home Salon Near Me: Enjoy Professional Pampering in the Comfort of Your Home

Are you tired of rushing to the salon every time you need a haircut, manicure, or massage? Do you wish you could experience professional beauty treatments without leaving the comfort of your home? Look no further! In this article, we will explore the concept of home salon and how they can revolutionize your beauty routine. From finding the right home salon near you to tips for a successful experience, we have you covered. So sit back, relax, and let the pampering come to you!
Benefits of Home Salon
  1. Convenience and Comfort Home salons offer the ultimate convenience by eliminating the need to travel to a physical salon. Instead, professional beauticians come to your doorstep, saving you time and effort. Imagine getting a relaxing massage or a rejuvenating facial in the cozy ambiance of your own home. With a home salon, you can bid farewell to traffic jams and waiting rooms.
  2. Personalized Experience When you visit a home salon, you receive undivided attention from the beautician. Unlike busy salons, where multiple clients are being served simultaneously, a home salon allows the beautician to focus solely on you. This personalized experience ensures that your specific needs and preferences are met, resulting in a truly tailor-made service.
  3. Time-saving Time is a precious commodity, and home salons help you save plenty of it. By eliminating the need to commute and wait in queues, you can allocate that time for other important activities. Whether it's spending quality time with your loved ones or pursuing a hobby, home salons give you the luxury of time.
  4. Cost-effective Contrary to popular belief, home salons can be cost-effective compared to traditional salons. Since home salons have lower overhead costs, they often offer competitive prices without compromising on quality. Additionally, you save money on transportation expenses, parking fees, and the temptation of impulse purchases at salons.
Finding a Home Salon Near You
Now that you're excited about the idea of a home salon, you might be wondering how to find one near you. Here are some effective methods to locate the perfect home salon in your area:
  1. Online Directories and Platforms Online directories and platforms specializing in home services are a great resource for finding home salons. These platforms provide comprehensive listings of home salons along with customer reviews and ratings. You can filter the search results based on your location, services required, and budget.
  2. Social Media Social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram are not just for sharing pictures and connecting with friends; they are also valuable tools for finding home salons. Many home salon professionals create business pages where they showcase their work, share client testimonials, and provide contact information. You can explore these pages, read reviews, and even message the professionals directly to inquire about their services.
  3. Word-of-Mouth Recommendations One of the most reliable ways to find a reputable home salon is through word-of-mouth recommendations. Ask your friends, family, and colleagues if they have had any positive experiences with home salons in your area. Personal recommendations can provide valuable insights and help you make an informed decision.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Home Salon
Choosing the right home salon is crucial to ensuring a satisfying experience. Here are some factors to consider before making your decision:
  1. Qualifications and Expertise Verify the qualifications and expertise of the beauticians working at the home salon. Check if they have the necessary certifications and licenses to offer the services they provide. Experience and specialized training in specific treatments are also important factors to consider.
  2. Hygiene and Sanitation Since the salon will be set up in your home, it is essential to prioritize hygiene and sanitation. Inquire about the salon's practices for sterilizing equipment, disposing of waste, and maintaining cleanliness. A reputable home salon will follow strict hygiene protocols to ensure your safety.
  3. Range of Services Offered Assess the range of services offered by the home salon and ensure they align with your beauty needs. From haircuts and styling to facials, massages, and nail treatments, the salon should provide a comprehensive menu of services. This ensures that you can fulfill all your beauty requirements conveniently.
  4. Pricing and Packages Compare the pricing and packages offered by different home salons. While cost should not be the sole determining factor, it is important to find a salon that offers reasonable prices for the services provided. Look for any special offers, discounts, or loyalty programs that can help you save further.
  5. Customer Reviews and Testimonials Read customer reviews and testimonials about the home salon you are considering. Online platforms, social media pages, and the salon's website often feature reviews from previous clients. Pay attention to both positive and negative feedback to get a balanced perspective and make an informed decision.
Tips for a Successful Home Salon Experience
To make the most of your home salon experience, follow these tips:
  1. Communication and Consultation Clearly communicate your expectations and preferences to the beautician before the session begins. Discuss any specific concerns, allergies, or sensitivities you may have. This ensures that the beautician can customize the treatment according to your needs.
  2. Preparing the Space Before the beautician arrives, ensure that the space where the salon will be set up is clean, clutter-free, and well-lit. Provide a comfortable seating arrangement and a clean surface for the beautician to work on. This preparation sets the stage for a relaxing experience.
  3. Setting Expectations Have a clear understanding of the services included in the package and the expected duration of the session. Clarify any doubts or queries you may have beforehand. By aligning expectations, you can avoid misunderstandings and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
  4. Feedback and Reviews After the session, provide feedback to the beautician about your experience. If you were satisfied with the service, leave a positive review on relevant platforms. Similarly, if you have any constructive feedback, share it directly with the beautician. Your feedback can help improve their services and benefit future clients.

Conclusion

Embracing the convenience of a home salon can transform your beauty routine into a pampering experience. With the benefits of personalized services, time-saving convenience, and cost-effectiveness, home salons offer a refreshing alternative to traditional salons. By utilizing online directories, social media platforms, and word-of-mouth recommendations, you can easily find a home salon near you. When choosing a home salon, consider factors such as qualifications, hygiene, range of services, pricing, and customer reviews. Follow the tips provided to ensure a successful home salon experience that leaves you feeling rejuvenated and pampered.

FAQs

  1. Are home salon services as professional as those offered at traditional salons?
Yes, home salon services can be just as professional or even more so than those offered at traditional salons. Many home salon professionals have extensive experience and qualifications in their respective fields. Additionally, the personalized attention and comfort of being in your own space contribute to a high-quality experience.
  1. How far in advance should I book a home salon appointment?
It's advisable to book a home salon appointment at least a few days in advance to secure your preferred time slot. Popular home salons may have a busy schedule, so early booking ensures availability. However, it's always worth checking for last-minute openings or cancellations if you need immediate services.
  1. Can I trust the hygiene and sanitation standards of a home salon?
Reputable home salons prioritize hygiene and sanitation. They follow strict protocols for sterilizing equipment, using disposable tools where necessary, and maintaining cleanliness. Before booking an appointment, feel free to ask about their hygiene practices to ensure your safety and well-being.
  1. What if I need to cancel or reschedule my home salon appointment?
Most home salons have cancellation and rescheduling policies similar to traditional salons. Make sure to check the salon's terms and conditions regarding cancellations, rescheduling, and any associated fees. It's courteous to provide ample notice if you need to make changes to your appointment.
  1. Are home salon services suitable for special occasions or events?
Absolutely! Home salon services can add a touch of luxury and convenience to special occasions and events. Whether it's preparing for a wedding, hosting a spa day with friends, or simply indulging in self-care, home salons can cater to your specific needs and create a memorable experience.

2023.06.06 14:48 lilousme9 I didn’t get laid off: they terminated my position…

I work in Belgium, I am F33 and have a diploma in communications, but I have worked very various, almost always temporary jobs.
I started working right out of school ( after living in NYC for 2 months, and lifelong dream) Anyway, in Belgium you can VERY often be asked to work a period of time as a temp before the company hires you. In this case: 6 months.
I was hired in January at a car dealership, that has 6 concessions.
They PROMISED me several times I would be hired, that I should not look for work.
Yesterday, they didn’t « fire » me. They literally terminated my position. I was in charge of customer relationship, and I guess they couldn’t pay me anymore.
I was supposed to sign my contract in 10 days.
Now I have to do it ALL. OVER. AGAIN. I am so tired. I got very drunk last night :)

2023.06.06 14:47 sczm23 Question

Have you guys stopped to think that maybe he is bipolar and having manic episodes where he goes to the extreme. I know many of you don’t like zoie. I don’t like or think the OF thing was appropriate for parents with young kids, and some of their parenting choices aren’t what I would or did do with my kids. But I cannot blame or claim hethem as a bad parent for doing things different then me. I think over the last year… mostly since they all went on that big you tuber group trip, there have been a-lot of times, I don’t think I will watch anymore. I just don’t agree with some things at times. But again, that does not make them bad parents because I do things different. But I have also just felt uneasy about garrick at times. There is no doubt that he loves his kids and zoey. Idk why I have had that feeling about him. But, in this situation and the last one… I see him as the one disregarding that the kids are hearing and seeing things ( that we also have seen). I see Zoie as the one trying to keep them protected from it more-so than him. When the last situation occurred- she called for help for him… he disregarded the fact that his kids were there, would hear the gun, might be the ones to find him, would see him being taken away etc. zoey could not stop him from choosing to try to harm himself, she was not in the room. Then with this situation, she went out with allie. I don’t agree with going out drinking as a married woman to a club or wherever it was without her husband, but again… just because I think that is wrong as a parent and in a marriage doesn’t mean I am right and it doesn’t make her a cheater. Garrick has mentioned going to clubs, hanging out with other music people and you know they were drinking also. Zoey puts happier things online in vlogs not to cover things up, but maybe so that she doesn’t make things worse or admit that it isn’t a happy marriage. Neither if them had the best upbringing and both are great hands on parents. Some of their choices are not the best. If garrick is struggling with bipolar he needs to get help and what he did in front of the kids was not right. In the live allie may have said you are acting like a crazy person and you need help, but he was. Regardless if whether or not he had legitimate reasoning that zoey or Allie cheated it did not need to be confronted in that way. Allie only said what he was saying wasn’t true. I don’t know Allie or what she and her husband do, but what i seen and see from zoey was that she came in as calm as possible, got the kids out of that situation and left. She was not on instagram degrading him or arguing. She only defended herself on tic toc and still did not slander him. I am just saying that we are not seeing the whole story. But we have to look at what we do see and that has been Garrick trying to harm himself in the home with kids, Garrick going ballistic on instagram and live on tic tock and putting the kids in the middle and calling their mom names and then we see hi. Backtracking and saying he wasn’t saying zoey was cheating etc. I just think they need to get away from each other. Anyway, just my thoughts which I know don’t mean anything to you all. I am praying that they both see what this is doing to those babies.

2023.06.06 14:47 ethereal-fishcake Need some help

Hi, I recently accepted a job offer through an agent and she stated that the job was for 4 days, and those would be half days. However, now that I’ve started work, they have assigned me four days, 2 full days and 2 half days which is not what I agreed to. I expressed my desire to resign as it does not fit my current schedule. The way they are doing it is that I am at fault for not being able to adapt to the work schedule. Is there anything I can do to avoid serving notice? Because I was only there for one day and I have not learned anything so serving a one week notice period seems like it’d be a waste of everyone’s time.

2023.06.06 14:47 ketosis12 Anxiety is driving me crazy. Please someone tell me this is normal.

I posted before, and I'm waiting on my EOD but I've gone through this sub religiously and I think I'm going to take a break from it soon. But I'm going crazy..It took almost 2+ months for me to receive my EQIP email (which i filled out within 2 days and got my fingerprints submit 3 days after the email). I got a call from the specialist who reviewed my EQIP letting me know that the information on the eqip looks good and the it's now been passed over to the investigator shortly after the fingerprints were recorded.
My project starts very soon, early July and I reached out to my recruiter to ask about the project and if there were any updates. She said nothing major, but they asked if I'm still on board with joining to which I told her that i'm still 100% pending my EOD/ pub trust. I have to imagine that this is a good sign that they've asked about my intent. But she also let me know that some of my other colleagues who were extended an offer already started. That definitely makes me nervous. I'm at a job that is so unfulfilling and it's getting more frustrating as many of the policies and contingencies that were agreed upon at the time of my hire are now being revoked because somehow management didn't know or remember that this was agreed upon when I agreed to come on board.
I guess i'm anxious because I've seen several posts where users are saying that after they submit their eqip, they were approved not even a month after submission. Is it normal to take this long? It's been about 3 months since I've accepted the offer and 2 weeks since my eqip was successfully submit and passed along...

2023.06.06 14:46 hap_hap_happy_feelz Potentially moving to Moab, need some input if possible!

Hi all -
My husband has a job opportunity in Moab and we're in discussion on if it is feasible to move there. Where we're having issues is ... where do you live? I cannot find any rentals in the area and I don't think we're looking to buy currently as it would be a contract job.
What towns are nearby to live in if Moab itself is not doable due to being unable to find a place to stay? I found one place for like, 5k a month. That is not possible for us to do.
Also, what sort of jobs are there? Seasonal only? I'm an academic manager for a residency/fellowship program, I don't think I'll be able to find that sort of work, but I will need to do something!
We're military (soon to be former) and are well-versed in packing up and moving, but normally we have the base to stay at until we get on our feet, this is our first move w/o having the military involved.
Also - what sort of wifi/streaming services are available? Remote work is always doable for me, but would need a solid connection!

2023.06.06 14:46 MeOwBowWowWow My therapist got a diagnosis!

I love my therapist, she has helped me with coping mechanisms, self worth, and just genuinely has helped me better myself in a professional and caring way. She doesn’t share much about herself, you know, good practice for a therapist. But in our session she let it slip that she had been diagnosed last year :) maybe I’m thinking too much about it, but when I started with her, having an adhd client was new to her and she did a a lot of research to help me more. Could that have helped her realize her own need for a diagnosis? It made me happy in many ways; I like feeling like she can relate to what I’m saying more than I did before knowing she had adhd, I like knowing tools that she finds helpful for herself are resources she shares with me, she has help me implement so many useful things in my life! And she’s so professional and good at her job, makes me feel like I can have more faith in myself to show up in the way. I talk about my adhd a lot, bring it up in most conversations haha it feels good knowing that maybe my openness about my diagnosis could help someone else get their own.

2023.06.06 14:46 goblinkate I've quit my job to get away from people who emotionally abused me.

Not gonna run into a lot of detail, but I've endured five years of gaslighting and bullying from my narcissistic boss who absolutely supported and let my coworkers bully me (dynamics in which everyone tried to lick his ass by singling me out and doing the worst to me on purpose). I've gone through most of my healing journey after waking up from the gaslighting thing two years ago. I've finally quit to get away because there's nothing more left for me. I've stayed to do the hard part of standing up for me because if I've just left without doing that for me I'd be worse for wear than actually putting up a fight, however late. Most of my PTSD symptoms subdued and I'm ready for a new chapter.
The fun part, the stand up comedy bit here, is this.
My boss, apart from being a narcissistic ass donkey, is also a homophobic sexist piece of a shit. My coworkers are on similar vibe and will support his views of course. I've got two months left in this hell hole of a place and coming to work every day is just so much about willpower (actually cleaning out my space today, looking forward to it). So, to entertain myself, I began writing down every homophobic, sexist. hate-speech shit anyone says at the office. I'm treating this as a science project. It's like fucking safari for me at this point and I can not wait to read all the shit at the end of my two month quitting period (given by law in my country), laugh and delete it.

2023.06.06 14:46 OkRice1421 Yeah no, I'm gonna say you people don't understand what humility is

Which maybe isn't a super humble thing to say, but nah, I was already pretty humble. I have gained nothing from this experience. It certainly hasn't humbled me.
I'm gonna say you rich bastards who even let the economy get to such a state are the ones that aren't humble. You arrogant sacks of shit are so insecure about how fucking stupid you are compared to me, but never have I ever displayed that I thought that made me better than anyone else.
No, that's you all. You're the ones who for years said "well why can't they live on 12 bucks per hour! They need to live within their means!" All the while you sat on a giant pile of gold. You all were the ones who, in your leisure and comfort, thought it was your job to decide what people deserve. You all were the ones who destroyed literally millions of families with your holier than thou drug criminal policies, all the while you were responsible for the drug crisis in the first place.
You all are the only reason I even have anything that needs to be done. Humble? I don't think, even during all of this, that I have ever displayed that I thought I was better than the people of this planet, other than you bastards. You people, who've completely failed at your duties? You're God damn right I think I'm better than you. I will never stoop so low as to humble myself around such abject failures.
You try to humble me with your asanine prank? To what end? To show that I can be fooled? Why would that humble me? I've been lied to lots of times. I'm aware of how gullible I can be. All it does is show your insecurity.
I smoked cigarettes I found on the ground. I was pals with the sick and infirmed. I treated every person I met like, well, like a person. Can you in your fucking ivory towers say the same? Can you in your ivory towers, sitting in judgement of the poor, claim any true humility for yourselves? Oh well I don't go out and buy a $1,500 steak covered in gold leaf. See? I'm such a humble guy!
No. You arrogant fucking failures have confused modesty for humility. Never in my entire life have I seen ANY OF YOU display humility. You have displayed modesty, but you bastards ooze arrogance from every pore. I have never been modest. Never once in my life have I been modest, both figuratively and literally. I have, however, always been humble. You failures do not understand what humility is, so how could you expect to instill it in me?
I hate you people. I will never not hate you people. When this concludes, I promise you, I am going to wipe my ass with your pathetic "legacy."

2023.06.06 14:45 BurntPancakeII_ Why did I try to be like asmon

I saw the video where asmon went a full month and a half without showering. My showerhead broke and I gave myself an excuse to try it before I start my job as a barista at starbucks. I am almost 2 weeks in and it isn’t that bad, he was right somewhat. The worst thing for me being my dick and balls smell and they feel really dusty and dirty. I honestly feel a little gross, I can’t wait to scrub every inch of my body when fix my shower.

2023.06.06 14:45 Delphinastella37 1st trimester sickness

This is my 1st pregnancy and just for context, I am 40 yo - fairly active beforehand exercising 3-5 times a week and currently at the start of week 9 in my pregnancy. The last 3 weeks have been about surviving with barely eating anything on week 6, followed with extreme fatigue on week 7 (plus the nausea), then overseas travel on week 8 (that I had to go and had no choice).
I have a decent job and I am the breadwinner with every single payment (house, car, etc etc) on me so can’t really afford any sick leave or else I am afraid my company is going to fire me. They are making people redundant every 3 months or so since an acquisition took place at the beginning of last year.
My strategy is to start the day early, eat as much as I can stomach up until around 3pm when I would no longer be able to function at all because that’s when the sickness starts to kick in and I have zero energy left to do work or anything else. Any sight of food (even on TV) or in the kitchen would send me straight to the toilet.
I’ve read through some of the posts in this subreddit but thought I’d give it a go to ask for advice in mitigating the sickness or if anyone found themselves in similar position, to offer some advice?

2023.06.06 14:45 ass-ninja I'm a B.Com graduate(2020). I don't have any job experience till now. And this year I'm going to give CAT. Will the IIMs even consider me in PI round if I score good percentile in CAT?

2023.06.06 14:44 MidnightHeavy3214 How do you politely demand a raise.

Sorry for such a long read
Some background. I graduated from UTI under motorcycles but it hasn't really worked out these last ten years. Now I work for a soccer team as the maintenance for the complex and the 2 regulation size fields. The job listing said light cleaning but mostly focusing on the fields. However now my "cleaning" tasks went from monthly to weekly to everyday.
The kicker is my supervisor keeps adding tasks to our project list on teams with really tight deadlines. And half the time it's delayed due to lack of tools or materials to complete then with timeframe and is constantly pulling me from said tasks to do more cleaning. It's gotten to the point I clean all day and have maybe an hour to start a project. But Ive already finished all the small projects. And the big ones require a day or two since I'm doing them solo.
Because of this constant back and forth our relationship has gone downhill and my gut feels I'm being setup for my annual meeting to look bad like I'm slacking a lot. I've mentioned this to his manager and was dismissed saying it's ok because we are badly understaffed.
I like working here but can't afford anything and slowly sinking further into debt. I have no car I got hit on my bicycle so that's broken and won't see a dime from that case for two years.
They all know I live really close and don't want that to be an excuse why they short change me.
I have terrible communication skills and don't want to do this sounding like I'm whining. Any help is greatly appreciated
