Recently vacated a rental, but have overpaid 5 days worth of rent. Property manager is refusing to give any info or process a refund, and says she can use it to pay for a professional cleaner (the place was gross when we moved in, we’ve left it with a couple hairs on the bathroom counter & a lightly stained laundry sink).
Shouldn’t they be requesting to use part of the bond for this? We’d still contest it because we’ve left the place much better than we found it. Cannot figure why she’s not giving us a refund of money neither the agency or landlord is entitled to.

I really want to make and sell the house cloaks. My husband and I jokingly call them the pimp coats- Pimperin (Slytherin), Pimpindoor (Gryffindoor), Pimpinclaw (Ravenclaw) and Hufflepimp (Hufflepuff). I was browsing through Etsy and cant find any good quality ones, specifically the first 2. So, I plan to make my husband and I ones, and figured I might put a feel out there of if anyone else would pottentially want one too. I dont knkw how much they would cost or anything since Ive only barely started looking into materials and add in time and whatnot. All I know is when I make them, Im not going to go low quality in materials. The emblems I want to shimmer in the light like they do when casting spells. I want the fur at the top of the Gryffindoor House Cloak. I want all the small details a printing machine cant get perfect. Im not good with metal, so to keep things relatively lightweight and to stay in my wheelhouse, I would just use the cosplay foam and whatnot for the sholders unless I can find a better material.
Anyways, since Im going through the effort for the Slytherin and Gryffindoor anyways, I want to set up an Etsy Shop with the cloaks. But if theres no pottential market for them, I wont even bother and just make my husband and I's. Im also down to make practically any cloak from the game, so if someone wanted their favorite cloak in high quality materials I could make it. It probably wouldnt be for a month or 2 since I have to get the feel of the cloaks and whatnot. Anyways, Sorry for the ramble.

Backstory: My wife and I purchase our first home three years ago. At the time I was working on restaurant out of state (design work) and hit it off with the AV consultant. Started talking home automation and what would be a good fit for DIY. Took the opportunity to prewire my house during renovation and he was gracious enough to sell me all the hardware at cost as well as offer to do some remote programming. He spent a lot of time helping me coordinate the infrastructure, I spent a lot of time and money doing it but most rewarding was learning and figuring out how this all works. Certainly became a hobby.
Anyway, they’re extremely busy all the time working on million dollar houses. I’ve got 1450 sf…I’ve successfully been able to work out one day of remote programming and a previously couple hours here or there configuring network - I’m two years down the road and they don’t have time to help. Always offering to pay, dropping “how y’all looking, any free time” every couple months, even sent expensive bottle of booze to hopefully keep me front of mind just because…its embarrassing. Im so close, all the backend stuff is configured in Accelerator, I just need the final two ways setup for lights/audio then voice. TVs communicating, but TC user interface needs to be purged of useless menus.
There’s almost no one locally to Louisiana who messes with URC. Are there any remote programming services available to recommendations for companies outside the dealer who sold me the stuff? Anyone come to mind akin to, “oh ____ is a wiz, he could knockout a 1500 sf project in a day”??
I’ve got thousands of dollars invested and seems like we’ll outgrow this house before I ever get to use the system I learned all about (not to mention my time investment and labor).

I live in Texas and just moved in to an apartment on May 15th with my fiancée. Since then, it has been hell dealing with an out of control pest problem. It started on the first night and has persisted since then. During the day time, it’s maybe 5-10 individual roaches found crawling on the walls and countertops, and at night, it’s countless roaches of all sizes crawling in multiple places. We do our best to mitigate the potential to attract them, but our efforts are futile. They are abundant at night time. Kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, closet. They will crawl across the countertops, underneath them, on and into the burners of the stove, into the baseboards, into improperly sealed parts of my bathtub faucet, and other places. We had pest control come out twice: the day after we moved in, and once again on May 31, but the problem seems the same if not just worse. We’ve had to sleep at my sister’s house for three nights this week and even slept in a hotel our first night because we felt unsafe. My fiancée woke up to a roach crawling on her a few nights ago. The reviews left about our complex by other tenants include multiple mentions about a relentless pest problem that for many never got resolved. We have been put on a list for pest control to come out weekly, but I don’t feel like I can safely and healthily wait for this to get resolved. I don’t feel comfortable sleeping at night and have kept the lights on constantly so as to deter them from my bedroom as much as possible. I don’t know what to do from here, and we are desperate to just live somewhere that is safe for our health, our dog, our food, and our belongings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

In Lyft I noticed I got the same group of people from same house that I took to same concert two years apart. I remembered it was them because there was a funny midget dude with them both times. I don't live in the city I picked them up, I live in a farther away city.
In Uber I noticed everytime I was passing by freeway the same doctor lady requests and I get matched with her. She has a huge rich looking house too so it's unmistaken. This happened 7 different times and I don't live near that area. There's also tons of drivers but somehow she is in sync with me and requests before I miss exit to her house.
I also noticed one day I had Michael or Mike back to back for near 8 hours. Another day I had guys from Chicago for hours and my city is a few states away from Chicago.

There is a warning about not sealing the the metal housing on the cans, but the cans were installed in the early 90s and designed for incandescent bulbs.

I (30F) have two best friends, who we'll call Allison (30F) and Anna (30F).
Anna and I had been having problems over the past few months, but the back story is too long. This happened at the beginning of March and it leads me to believe that I might be TA.
Anna's current boyfriend Joe (27M) told me that Anna had compared him to Elliot (her ex and the father of her daughter) many times and that he would never do the same even though his ex was a gorgeous girl. He showed me the girl's IG and I didn't think much of it, to me it was just a friend venting and needing to be heard. I did talk to Allison about it and she said something along the lines "don't even think about showing this girl to Anna because she'll get diarrhea if she sees how pretty Joe's ex is."
A few weeks later, I was hanging with Anna while her daughter Bea (12F) was at her dad's and she was anxious and angry because she had been looking up Joe's ex's social media and wanted to see how she looked like. I felt bad that I was hiding it from her and confessed that I had seen the girl and that she was pretty, but that it was a relationship that Joe had 4 years ago and it wasn't worth thinking about it. I thought that would put her mind at ease, but it didn't. She yelled at me that I was an awful friend for keeping that info from her and demanded to see her. She continued to yell and at one point I said: "I JUST DIDN'T TELL YOU BECAUSE I KNEW THAT SEEING HER WAS GOING TO GIVE YOU DIARRHEA." She turned off the lights in her house and locked herself in her room after telling me that Allison and I always minimized her and made her feel bad. I interpreted that as an implicit way of kicking me out. I left and she came out behind me, walking faster, but I tried to catch up with her and try to grabbed her hand while telling her to calm down and talk to me. She pushed me away very violently and yelled at me not to touch her. Unfortunately, we ran into a friend who saw the whole exchange and the embarrassment was just too much for me, so I left and blocked her everywhere.
The next day, I texted her apologizing about the diarrhea comment and explained why I had kept that from her. I also told her that it was best if we take some time apart so as not to further strain our friendship.
3 months have passed and she never responded to the text. I haven't made any effort to talk to her either. Joe and her are still together, they seem to be okay. I feel hurt by the way she treated me but I think maybe it's for the best and that she is no longer a friendship I need around. Allison says we might figure this out in the future and although she has tried to stay out of it, Anna has treated her coldly and they haven't spent any time together since.

alright so here’s the story: i (pimo) was having a long conversation with this brother, he was talking about an instance where his house was broken into, and the topic of home defense came up. of course, JWs don’t believe you should own guns (although people in the country don’t seem to care) and they are definitely against using weapons for home defense.
he puts forth the argument that if your house is getting broken into you shouldn’t resort to a weapon because “are you going to reach for a weapon or pray in that situation” “remove the weapon and you can only pray, which is jehovahs way, leave it in his hands”.
i knew what i had to do and i don’t care if this puts me on a radar. i asked if god intervenes to save people. his answer was “yes”. i asked why ‘he “chooses” to save some people and not others’ he said something about the perso’s faith. i said ‘what about the brothers in hamburg? they were praying and god didn’t stop a massacre, he didn’t even help the wounded survive/recover! why would god help me when he lets others die?’
this stumped him, this pious and wise brother. he ignored my point and said jehovah DOES intervene and we have proof, referencing the video about the brother in malawi who was spared by border guards
i went for the kill. i asked why jehovah didn’t save the people set on fire, the hundreds shot in the street, and the thousands more women in malawi who were raped, why does jehovah pick and choose who he saves? couldn’t they be chalked up to coincidence? if god is the god of justice why would he let awful things happen to those with faith when according to you, god can intervention save those with faith?

Hey guys, I'm at an awkward stage in my life where I don't necessarily think an MBA fits in my life, but I have some friends currently going through the admissions process right now and it got me curious about what my chances actually are.
I had always dreamed about HSW, but after getting out of the military, the transition program I attended convinced me to forego an MBA and jump into tech. I don't regret the decision, but now that several years have passed, I do feel like one of my life goals was never attained, nor even attempted, which is disappointing. I've been delivering since the beginning of the year and never had any issues with customers until tonight. So to set the scene, I'm delivering a good sized order from some BBQ joint about 12 min from the customer. Customer lives in a nice-ass gated community (guard at the entrance checking my ID and everything) and they had tipped decently to begin with. I drop the food off, take a pic, and mark the order as delivered. I get back in the car and drive a street down to turn around. As I'm passing back by the house, there's a woman out front waving me down with order in hand . I roll down my passenger window and ask her what's going on. "My order is missing two meals." I tell her I'm sorry and those were the only bags they gave me at the restaurant. I start to explain the refund process to her when she cuts me off saying "I don't want a refund, I want the rest of my order."
Here's where I might have fucked up. I tell her I can go back and get the rest of her order, she seems relieved, until I say "how's an extra $10 sound?" Mind you, she's been somewhat cooperative until now.
"What?! Why would I pay you more? I've already tipped you and you haven't even done your job!" I'm trying to explain gas money and time away from dinner-rush orders I'll be missing out on when her husband pulls up. Fucking perfect timing huh? He gets out of his shiny Cadillac SUV wearing light blue scrubs (surgeon I'm guessing) and saunters over. She's begins angrily telling him "this guy wants ten more dollars just to go back for the rest of our order that HE forgot!"
The husband just kinda looks at me disappointingly and says the same shit. "Why are we gonna pay you more? We already paid for food we didn't get. Didn't you check the order before you left?" I start saying something about how I'm not going to rifle through your food, counting salads and steaks, and he throws his hands up and mutters "just give him the $10" as he walks off... There's about ten seconds of silence while the wife just looks at me like she's about to have a meltdown, and eventually says "fine, I'll give you more money when you get back."
Sure enough as soon as I walked in the restaurant, the guy that handed me the order originally was like "Oh, dude I'm so sorry, here's the other bag! Do you want some extra desserts on the house?" I drove that shit back and left it at their door and told the ring cam "here's the rest of your order with some extra desserts. Don't worry about the $10."

Hi I’m an incoming freshman but I applied and committed super late so apparently I’m last in line for a dorm contract. I’ve tried emailing university housing and had everything done to apply for housing by mid April, but I still haven’t gotten a contract. If I’m not mistaken June 1 was the last day they send out contracts, so should I be looking for an apartment right now? Any recommendations?

I have three roommates, ages ranging from 18-21. The youngest has no credit, me and another roommate are 740-750, but the third is at like 540 due to their parent using their credit. Our total monthly income before taxes sits at $7,300 rounding down. Three of us moved in after the other's roommates moved out halfway through the lease, so once we have to move we'll only have four months of renters history together. We'd like to each have our own rooms; currently we share a 2br apartment with the living and dining room taken, but it looks like 4br apartments are only really a thing in student housing, so the next option is to rent. Given what I've explained though, I'm not sure if this is a reasonable idea for us? We have a little under two months to search at this point so I'd really like to know the reality of this.

What I am not understanding is, if she only likes me 25% compared to the 75% that she likes her ex-boyfriend-roommate... then why does she continue making romantic and sexual advances on me? She's told me in the past that she wants to be exclusive for me, and recently she told me that she wants to dislike her roommate because she foresees the future of what bad could erupt from being with her roommate again.
Hearing that she knows that any of her future relationships with her ex-boyfriend-roommate isn't going to turn out well makes me feel at ease in a way, but my patience of having to wait until the roommate moves out until a few more months worries me the most because of her still having these underlying feelings for her ex-boyfriend-roommate.
