Procedure to check transmission fluid on 2013 CRV
2023.06.06 13:52 AffectionateGas7037 Procedure to check transmission fluid on 2013 CRV
What is the proper procedure to check the AT fluid level on a 2013 CRV? I've seen a place saying engine off and another one saying turn engine on and check after the fan has been running for 60 seconds but before it's been running for 90 seconds. Thanks!

2023.06.06 10:27 TylerTheSavage47 2013 RAM 1500 4.7 Hesitation issue
Hello again everyone.
I own a 2013 RAM 4.7 Lonestar with the 6 speed automatic. I have been battling an issue with hesitation for a while that i thought was transmission but now i’m thinking it’s not.
At slow acceleration with light gas, the truck will shift through the gears ok ish but it will randomly pause during the middle of a shift with my foot off the gas and then quickly finish said shift. I have also noticed that there is tons of shuddering/hesitation (RPMs jumping up and down probably around 100-150rpm) while accelerating slowly through 4th and 5th gears. When the truck is floored, sometimes it gets up and goes, other times it sits there for a bit, gets to around 2500rpm, and then starts to get up and go. Feels like you’re battling head on winds.
On times where it’s launches fine, it bucks slightly throughout 1st gear, shifts to 2nd, and then as soon as it hits 4K RPM it feels like you let off the gas even though the pedal is still pinned to the floor.
I thought it was transmission issues so i replaced the torque converter and the valve body which didn’t solve the issues at all. No metal in pan at all, trans fluid is at a perfect level. Last night when i tried to pass someone up, it shifted into passing gear and then i got P0300 with the check engine light flashing.
Truck has 157K, plugs have been changed, wires are original to the vehicle. Any help?

2023.06.06 04:59 brostocks Overheating Cmax
I have a 2013 Ford Cmax with around 70,000 miles. Over the weekend, it started overheating when I’d drive it for more than 20 minutes, eventually with the car slowly unable to accelerate some time after the overheat warning came up.
In my many years of driving various clunkers, this typically meant a radiator leak, however, the car was holding its fluid just fine and not leaking. The engine also was also making some not super loud but strange knocking type sounds.
I realize this isn’t much to work off or but wondering if anyone knows of any particular problems these models of cars get with overheating. With only 70k on it, feels a bit discouraging to get stuff like this going on.
Thanks in advance for any input!

2023.06.06 03:42 tracemyfacewithit 6T40 MH8 2013 Malibu - added 10 Qts
Fixing up old 2013 Malibu LT for teens first car. Car went into Limp mode after having the radiator replaced. We checked and drained the transmission and only got out 2qts of black tar like fluid. Added 10qts of trans fluid per auto stores advice. I just drained out about 5 after learning it's only supposed to have 5-6 quarts and disconnected the battery in hopes the code will clear. Any advice? Was it damaged by having 10 quarts in it?

| https://preview.redd.it/n3fdjeflry2b1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=449c1b32645c08ea77fea76c9b4fd131556acb6b The redesigned 2023 Toyota Sequoia shares the same platform as the Tundra, and just like its pickup truck sibling, it’s equipped with a solid rear axle, which unfortunately sacrifices interior space for more articulation, towing stability and durability. The SUV now comes with a hybrid powertrain that combines a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine with an electric motor for a total of 437 horsepower and 583 pounds-feet of torque; standard are a 10-speed automatic transmission and, on the TRD Pro variant, four-wheel drive. This sounds like good news for towing, so we tested how well the Sequoia’s new setup performs while hauling a trailer. Towing With the 2023 Sequoia TRD Pro For the 2023 model year, Toyota has changed pretty much everything in the Sequoia. Rather than going toward a unibody design for better use of space and efficiency, the automaker opted for a body-on-frame construction and a solid rear axle. This layout allows Toyota to keep the independent front suspension and precise rack and pinion steering while adding significant stability for towing and hauling heavier loads. With a towing capacity of 9,020 pounds, the 2023 Sequoia TRD Pro sits pretty high on the list of full-size SUVs. This variant of the SUV also comes equipped with a receiver hitch, four- and seven-pin wiring connectors, and a trailer brake controller. Toyota requires that a weight-distribution hitch be used for loads over 5,000 pounds; it also recommends 100% front-axle load restoration. For more information, check out the owner’s manual or our guide. The Trailer For this test, I towed a twin-axle flatbed trailer loaded with a modified 1999 Jeep Cherokee that resulted in a total weight of 7,850 pounds. The trailer sits quite low, but adding the Jeep raised the center of gravity significantly, making the trailer less stable and therefore better for a towing test. Tow Route The route started at roughly 4,500 feet of elevation and, with some steep climbs, peaked at just over 6,200 feet. The route included a short freeway section, and the remainder mostly consisted of four-lane roads with 45 mph to 55 mph speed limits and grades approaching 10%. How Well Does the 2023 Sequoia TRD Pro Tow? Connecting the Trailer While I do have access to a weight-distribution hitch with built-in sway control, I prefer to do towing tests without. (For my day job, I am a product engineer for Progress Mfg. Inc. in Utah, makers of the Equal-i-zer hitch and Fastway Flash ball mounts.) Using a standard ball mount provides more feedback on how well the tow vehicle can tow without additional anti-sway aids. In this case, I used a Fastway Flash Scale ball mount to get a proper tongue weight when loading the Jeep onto the trailer. I ended up with 800 pounds of tongue weight, which was a little more than 10% of the total weight. Hooking the Sequoia to a trailer was easier than with a Lexus LX 600. The Sequoia’s hitch cover simply pulls off without having to undo any push pins or hand screws, and though the receiver design is the same as the Lexus’, the body cladding is such that access to the hitch-pin hole is much easier. Also, the Sequoia’s 2-inch receiver requires a long-span hitch pin, and the width it must span is actually larger than the width of Ford’s 3-inch receiver. Additionally, the wiring only required connecting the 7-pin plug and performing a simple light and brake check; everything worked perfectly. Towing Performance Entering the freeway via an uphill on-ramp posed no problems for the Sequoia. Its 583 pounds-feet of torque comes on strong at low rpm, which makes the drive feel effortless, and the 10-speed automatic shifts smoothly and finds the right gear without a fuss. Over expansion joints, the Sequoia remains planted. On crowded divided highways, the Sequoia has no problem keeping up with traffic, and the brakes are strong. The suspension certainly feels stiffer than the previous generation’s, but this leads to a more stable ride when towing. Much like entering the freeway, climbing steep grades posed no issues. While I was testing in cold weather, it was still nice to have a full set of gauges that included oil pressure, oil temperature and transmission temperature. Heading back down the grade was fairly easy, as well. The transmission downshifts to provide engine braking with light pressure on the brake pedal. When using cruise control, the vehicle is more aggressive with the engine braking. I did, however, smell the brakes and stop midway down the grade to let them cool for a few minutes. As the Sequoia had less than 5,000 miles on the odometer, this could still be part of the break-in process, but I wasn’t expecting the brakes to heat up that much. Final Thoughts Toyota claims that the hybrid system is optimized for performance and that fuel mileage is just an added benefit; that is definitely the vibe I had while testing. Power always seems to be on-hand when needed, and I observed 12.6 mpg over 220 miles of driving, with about 40 miles towing and 180 miles mixed city/highway driving. Even with the Sequoia’s body-on-frame construction and solid rear axle, there are trade-offs. The SUV has a rougher ride on the road when hauling an empty trailer, and the solid axle sometimes has a noticeable sideways movement over bumps and dips. However, if you’re in the market for an SUV that can seat up to eight and tow a good-sized camper or boat, then the 2023 Sequoia just might be what you’re looking for. 2023.06.05 20:15 Prophet_Rykar [OC] Humanity's Spirit
In the late 23rd century, the skies darkened with the arrival of the Nokrians. A reptilian race known throughout the galaxies as conquerors, destroyers of civilizations, and relentless expansionists. The first contact had a single, chilling message. Surrender or be eradicated. Humanity spread across Earth, Mars, the belt, and the solar system's farthest reaches bristled at the ultimatum. A united response was sent back. "We are the children of Earth. We do not surrender!" And so, the war for Earth began.
The Nokrians had underestimated humanity, viewing them as a young race scattered, technologically inferior. The aliens had crushed such civilizations before. But humankind was different. Beneath the diverse flags, languages, and planets, the fire of unity roared. Human technology, while less advanced, was innovative. Adaptive tactics and strategies changed quickly and unpredictably.
The first defining battle took place in the inner belt of Jupiter. Earth's combined fleet clashed with the Nokrian Armada. The alien cruisers dwarfed Earth's vessels, and their plasma weapons tore through our hulls. The Nokrians watched as dozens of human ships turned to stardust, confident in their victory. But humanity had a secret weapon. Its spirit. The spirit dared to dream, innovate, and resist against all odds. And amid that bloody battle, it shone brightly. Following a hasty, desperate plan, the remaining human fleet utilized Jupiter's powerful magnetic field to create a slingshot effect, hurtling smaller ships with tremendous speed toward the Nokrian Armada.
The Nokrian Shields, designed to absorb direct high-energy attacks, could not adapt to the bombardment of these human missiles. The loss they faced was unexpected and disheartening. The mighty alien Armada was forced to retreat, leaving the humans to celebrate their first victory. That day, the message of humanity echoed across the solar system. "We do not surrender!"
On the Nokrian's home world, supreme warlord K'rul watched in disbelief as reports streamed in. "So, you're telling me we lost our greatest superweapon because humans rammed a flagship into it?" The room fell into an uneasy silence. Humans were meant to be weak and insignificant. Yet they had just dealt the Nokrians a heavy blow. Despite this unexpected setback, the Nokrians remained disdainful of humanity. They saw this victory as a fluke, a lucky shot.
Commander Xok'rath received an order from the Nokrian High Command as the war entered its second year. An all-out assault on Earth aimed to crush human resistance once and for all. Closing his eyes, he remembered a phrase from an ancient human text. "The calm before the storm." The storm was indeed coming, but who would prevail in its wake was a story yet to be told. With a final look at Earth, he ordered his Armada to advance, leaving the future of humanity hanging in the balance. A cliff on the horizon of a story yet to unfold.
"Operation Thunderbolt? I must admit humans come up with interesting names," Commander Xok'rath muttered. Starring at the holographic plans of an Earth-based counter-strike against his armada. He found it difficult to understand how a young and fragile race could put up such a fight. His second in command, Virox, watched the hologram with narrowed eyes. "Commander, have you noticed? These humans fight differently compared to the other races we've conquered. They're more... reckless." "Yes," Xok'rath replied, a hint of curiosity in his voice. "They seem to have a remarkable capacity for taking risks and performing under extreme stress. There's a term they use" Adrenaline." Xok'rath said. Virox tilted his head. "Adrenaline?" "Yes," Xok'rath said. Gesturing at a display, an image of human anatomy diagram appeared, highlighting the adrenal glands. "It's a hormone triggered by stress or danger significantly enhancing their physical abilities. It allows them to perform feats that seem impossible." "Like flying their ships directly into our Armada," Virox murmured, understanding dawning in his eyes. "Yes," Xok'rath nodded. "Like that." Their discussion was interrupted by the ship's automated alarm. Operation Thunderbolt had begun.
Reports started pouring in, and Earth's smaller but highly maneuverable attack force began strafing runs on the Nokrian fleet. From Earth's surface, missiles arced, their brilliant trails illuminating the dark void. Nokrian shield generators sparked and faltered under the sheer onslaught. The human ships danced among the Nokrian Armada. "Incoming! Brace for Impact!" Xok'rath's command echoed through the ship as the Earth missiles found their target. The ship shook violently, the powerful shield failing under the human's relentless bombardment. "Damage report!" Xok'rath demanded, clutching onto the armrest of his command chair. His scales bristled with tension. "Shields down to 17%; we have hull breaches in sectors 7, 9, and 12." A junior officer reported, panic evident in his usually steady voice. "Initiate evasive maneuvers and get those shields back online!" Zok'rath ordered, his mind racing. No enemy had ever breached a Nokrian command ship's shield. Yet, here were the humans achieving the impossible again.
Meanwhile, on Earth, General Maya Serrano watched as Operation Thunderbolt unfolded. Despite the high stakes, she couldn't suppress a small smile. They were showing these arrogant aliens the true might of humanity. Serrano was a seasoned veteran, having served in the Solar Defense Force for three decades. She'd fought against pirates and led exploratory missions into unknown regions of space, and now she was helping to defend against an alien invasion. Her strategic mind was behind Operation Thunderbolt, a daring high-risk counteroffensive designed to exploit the Nokrians' overconfidence.
Back on the Nokrian command ship, the situation was dire. The shields were failing. casualties were mounting, and to Xok'rath's disbelief, the human force showed no signs of relenting. Instead, their attacks became fiercer, their maneuvers more daring. Suddenly an urgent message flashed on the command screen. It was from the Nokrian Supreme Warlord K'rul himself. His statement was brief and to the point. "Fall back to high orbit," "Regroup," "We will not be defeated." Xok'rath stared at the message, his mind swirling with questions. "Fallback?" "Regroup?" These were terms not often used in Nokrian warfare. He looked back at the holographic display of Earth, its blue and green hues seeming to pulse defiantly. "Commander your orders?" Virox asked, his eyes reflecting the unease rippling through the command ship. Xok'rath took a deep breath. A newfound respect for humanity hardened his resolve. "We follow the warlord's orders, full retreat to high orbit." "But make no mistake, Virox, this is far from over. We've awoken a giant, and we must brace for its wrath," said Xok'rath.
As the Nokrian Armada began retreating, the humans watched from their home world, ships, and colonies. They had won this round. Their defiance, unity, and sheer audacity had pushed back the invaders. If only for a while... But they knew this was not the end; the war was far from over. The Nokrians would return more determined, more desperate. Humanity would have to be ready, for they were the children of Earth, and they would not surrender!
The lights flickered in the makeshift lab as a beacon of hope emerged. On a remote outpost on Titan, Doctor Elena Petrova, humanity's leading quantum physicist, made a breakthrough. A radical new technology project, Quantum Lattice, is an adaptive energy shield that could neutralize the Nokrian's plasma weapons. News of the breakthrough spread like wildfire, the anticipation mixed with caution; after all, the security was untested in actual combat.
They needed to be more unified on the other side of the war line. In the Nokrian High Command, disagreement festered; some commanders like Xok'rath argued for a more cautious approach acknowledging the human's unpredictability. Others, like the fiery Z'tran, scorned such caution advocating for overwhelming direct force.
Back on Earth, another development was taking shape. Lieutenant Isamu Takashi, one of the few survivors of the battle of Jupiter, was chosen for a mission most deemed suicidal. Utilizing his combat experience, survival skills, and the new adaptive camouflage suit. Isamu was to infiltrate the Nokrian mothership, gather intelligence, and if possible, sabotage their operations. Leaving behind a tearful goodbye to his family. Isamu steeled himself for the task ahead. He was not just a soldier but a symbol of human determination.
Meanwhile, Project Quantum Lattice was fast-tracked for field deployment. The prototype was to be installed on the USS Vengeance, a newly commissioned cruiser. Captain Amina N'dour, an experienced and unyielding officer, was given the helm. Her task was twofold: test the shield in battle and buy enough time for Isamu to complete his mission. The USS Vengeance embarked on its maiden voyage equipped with untested technology. The moral of the human forces was... Palpable. On the Nokrian side, tension mounted as descent grew. The war was about to take an unexpected turn.
Onboard the Nokrian mothership, Commander Xok'rath studied the report of increased activity among the human forces. A chill ran down his spine; he felt the wind of change, a shiver of uncertainty. He turned to his second in command, Virox. "Prepare the fleet for an imminent attack and enhance security on our ship. I have a feeling... the humans are up to something." And thus, the stage was set the pieces were moving. As the USS Vengeance ventured into the dark abyss, Isamu descended onto the alien ship in his stealth shuttle. The entire solar system held its breath. Unbeknownst to them, they were on the brink of a new chapter in the war for Earth. A turning point was on the horizon, and with it, the tides of war were about to change.
Deep within the heart of the Nokrian mothership. Lieutenant Isamu Takashi navigated the labyrinthine corridors, and the calm hum of alien technology resonated in the walls. Contrasting starkly with the pounding heartbeat echoing in his ears. Invisible under the cloak of the adaptive camouflage suit, he slipped past patrols, moving like a phantom. His objective was clear, gather intel on the Nokrian's capabilities, identify weaknesses, and if possible, sow chaos within their ranks. But first, he had to reach the core command center.
Meanwhile, far from the silent tension of the alien vessel, the USS Vengeance found itself in the throes of battle. The Nokrian vanguard had descended upon them like a swarm of metallic hornets, but humanity had its own sting. "Activate the Quantum Lattice!" Captain Amina N'dour ordered. A shimmering energy net bloomed around the ship absorbing the volley of plasma beams from the Nokrian fighters. The cruiser seemed to glow in a lattice of light before the glow subsided, leaving the USS Vengeance unscathed. In the silence that followed, a cheer erupted on the bridge; The Quantum Lattice worked.
Then, on the Nokrian mothership, Z'tran, a high-ranking commander known for his aggression, stormed into the war room. Reports of the failed attack on the human ship had just arrived. Z'tran blamed Xok'rath for the failures, his words slicing through the tense air. "Your caution has cost us, Xok'rath. These humans... they are not as weak as you believed." A heated argument ensued, voices echoing through the chamber. Z'tran's accusations held weight among those frustrated with the human resistance. The room split, tension escalating until Z'tran, by force of numbers, wrestled control of the Armada. His first order was a resonating call for the destruction of the Earth.
During the power struggle, Isamu found himself at the heart of the command center. He had gathered precious intel, learning about Z'tran's intended all-out assault. Unfortunately, he transmitted the information to Earth before an alarm blared around him. His cover was blown, and his heart pounded in his chest as he found himself surrounded and trapped at the center of the enemy hub. His eyes darted, calculating escape routes, but it was too late. The Nokrians closed in; their alien faces were grim, and weapons were drawn.
Back on Earth, as the data from Isamu started streaming in, they also received his final message. "I've been compromised; proceed without me..." The transmission cut out abruptly, leaving a haunting silence in the command center with the enemy closing in. Isamu steeled himself; he was cornered, outgunned. His chances looked grim, but he was a symbol of humanity, and he was not going down without a fight. And thus, the climax of the War for Earth began with a lone spy's fate and humanity's future hanging in the balance.
The alien corridors were bathed in a harsh red light, the alarm blaring relentlessly. Lieutenant Isamu Takashi, cornered and outnumbered, faced the approaching Nakorians with a defiant glare. He knew he wouldn't walk away from this fight. His hand found the tiny remote in his pocket. a last resort. A beacon to call down hellfire upon his position. He pressed the button. An explosive blaze erupted from Isamu's location, cascading through the Nokrian mothership. Isamu's final act, a daring sacrifice, destabilized a significant part of the alien Armada. It was a tragic but necessary act that the human fleet used to their advantage. On Earth, his sacrifice echoed through the ranks. Isamu's bravery was a catalyst, igniting a resolve deeper than any battle plan.
As Z'tran's all-out assault descended upon Earth, the planet's defenses were pushed to their limit. But inspired by Isamu, the humans held their ground. The Quantum Lattice technology fends off the relentless onslaught. "Remember Isamu!" Became a rallying cry that surged through the human ranks. Each ship fought with a tenacity that was a testament to their fallen comrade.
The Nokrian Armada, vast, began to falter before the stubborn human resistance. And then Earth's forces unleashed a trump card. Within the bowels of these human ships, engineers and scientists worked relentlessly. Exploiting the data gathered by Isamu. They discovered a critical flaw in the Nokrian shield system. A resonant frequency that could disrupt their energy matrix. Timing their attacks to the millisecond, they fired burst after burst. At this frequency, The Nokrian Shields flickered and, with a final, resounding blast, failed. The Armada was left exposed and vulnerable. Humanity pushed, and the Nokrian forces began to crumble.
The victory was not without cost. wreckage of both Human and Nokrian ships littered the Battlefields. The Earth, though protected, was scarred by the relentless bombardment. But amidst the destruction, humanity stood tall. They had faced annihilation and emerged victorious. Both races were left to pick up the pieces in the aftermath of the war.
On Earth, a Monument was erected in Isamu's memory, a testament to the spirit of humanity. In the Nokrian home world, Z'tran's recklessness was held responsible for their defeat, leading to a shift in power. As the dust settled, the galaxy watched in awe. A species they had considered insignificant had bested the most fearsome conquerors known. Their story was one of resilience, bravery, and unity. However, with the end of the war came new challenges.
The knowledge of humanity's existence had reached far corners of the galaxy. Allies and enemies alike turned their attention to the small blue planet and its colonies, intrigued and wary. But Earth stood ready. The war for Earth had changed, unified, and strengthened them. No matter what the future holds, one thing is sure. Humanity would face it head-on, as they always had. Because they are the children of Earth! And they will not surrender!

2023.06.05 18:49 mintyfreshteadrinker Mystery clunk
2010 ford escape AWD hybrid
Had front end rebuilt 2 months ago - wheel bearings, control arms - shop couldn’t get left front axle from old bearing so they replaced that for cost (no labor).
Developed a mystery clunk from what i think is front left wheel assembly after install- its been back to shop and they couldn’t replicate - I took it out on test drive and I couldn’t replicate. Clunk is back but it’s intermittent. Whenever i start the car in the morning (it needs to sit for a few hours to do this) - even in EV mode - if i place car in reverse and lightly tap on pedal - i get a clunk - every time without ICE engaging…..
About 30% of the time - if i brake ‘aggressively’ i get a clunk, then if i accelerate hard i get another clunk.
Car drives great - no steering issues - apart from needing new tires…..
I have replaced 3 of 4 motor mounts myself (no effect on clunk - they were all shot after 189K miles - no surprise there) - only have passenger side left to do which apparently i have to disable high voltage system so a little nervous to do that……will get it it eventually
I have retorqued everything on both wheel wells - no effect….
I have replaced front brakes and rotors - needed doing.
I have replaced sway bar links (bushings left to do) - it couldn’t be stress of new links on old bushings right? Old ones look okay and if I grab the sway bar - zero play here…….
I’ve had a camera under there as i reverse out focused on transmission and front left assembly and i see nothing shifting……
puzzling……
any ideas and thanks in advance!

_____________________________________
Continued From Part 4 Bittu scratched his wrist idly as he stood next to his newly assigned cruiser. It wasn't the new ride that had him nervous though, it was the huge armoured cyborg standing across from him on the opposite side of the vehicle.
At first he had been shocked by the thing’s, no, the man’s true identity. The fact that he had originally mistook Abel for some sort of new combat robot still rankled his pride. He should have noticed the man’s demeanor when they first met, instead he had let his bias get the better of him. Well, no more.
Trying as hard as he could to ignore the fact that his new partner was not exactly a living being anymore he unlocked the cruiser and opened the driver side door. Abel opened his door and they both sat at the same time.
Abel stared straight ahead for a moment before turning to look at him, his helmet visor dark enough to hide his limited biological features. “Well, this is it. I finally get to do something more than running laps for testing.”
Bittu just nodded, not knowing exactly what to say to the man. He had been mind wiped, he had no memory of his past or who he was. Bittu found the entire situation exceptionally dark and twisted. Now he was no stranger to such concepts as internment and forced labor, criminals were treated to such activities all the time. But to wipe the mind of someone and then turn them into that. He shuddered at the thought.
“Hey what’s wrong, are you cold or something partner?” Bittu heard Abel ask him. The genuine concern in the man’s voice made up his mind. He would do everything in his power to find out what had happened to the man. He needed to know.
Bittu sat up and shook his horned head. “No, I was just thinking about something chilling. Anyways, we should get moving. We have patrol duty on level ninety eight it seems.”
Abel nodded. “That sounds like a plan.”
Bittu turned on the car, its promethium powercells warming up before the electric motor turned on. Checking his mirrors he pulled out of his spot and drove them quickly to the exit ramp. Not a moment later they were out of the station and moving down the wide boulevard that connected the Hollow Pass precinct to the rest of the city.
Bittu adjusted his dark polarized glasses as they stopped at an intersection, the lights a solid red indicating that it was not yet time to go. As the traffic passed in front of them Abel remarked “Wow, there are so many. I wonder how many people there are in Shikago in total?”
Bittu responded automatically “Shikago stratocity, population of two hundred million souls this time of the year. The second largest stratocity on all of Kondirak.”
Abel whistled softly. “Two hundred million? How is that possible, where do they get the food to sustain that many people? There are no farms around the city, the area is a wasteland from what I have read.”
The light turned a solid green and Bittu checked both ways before pulling through the intersection. Too many times he had almost been hit by some asshole running the red because they thought they could make it. He glanced at Abel and answered his question “There aren't aboveground farms you are correct. But about twenty miles out where the pollution belt ends there are large substacks filled with hydroponics. Those alone wouldn't be quite enough however so the city imports from Draken V in the Draken system. Are you familiar with it?”
Abel shook his head “I must admit that my knowledge of the place is fragmented at best. I assume that it is an agricultural world?”
Bittu chuckled “Yeah, kind of. More like a massive slave plantation.”
Abel looked at him sharply. “Slave plantation? What do you mean, the Union does not allow slavery on account of…” The cyborg started to say but Bittu cut him off.
“Slavery by any other word is still slavery. The people of Draken V might as well be slaves, wage slaves at the very least. The plantations are all owned by a single family, one man controls the entire planet and all the trade that happens on it. They set the prices of everything, from the food to clothing to the price of clean water. They use their power to keep the farmers poor and dependent on the company for support. It should be illegal, but through some quirk of fate a loophole allowing such treatment under the law exists.” he said with some bitterness, his fingers tightening on the steering wheel till his knuckles turned lavender.
Abel seemed to think for a few moments. In the hige man’s silence Bittu took them off the main road and onto one of the elevated highway ramps. As they passed from the ground level to the raised roadway Abel finally spoke.
The cyborg spoke with a bit of anger in his modulated voice. “That is wrong. That's sick, how can the Union just stand idly by and allow such injustice to happen?”
Bittu nearly shouted as the anger burning in his gut threatened to get the better of him “The Union doesn't care that's why! What are the lives of a few tens of thousands of peasant farmers to the billions that rely on their labor!?” he stopped himself, his breath coming in short gasps such had been the force of his outburst. He could feel his tail lashing in the small space behind his seat.
Abel looked at him, the mechanical servos in his neck whirring softly as he cocked his helmeted head. “You sound like this is personal.”
Bittu glanced at his new partner, the large metal man seemingly impassive and uninterested. But Bittu got the impression that the man did care, that he cared a lot. Otherwise why would he have even bothered asking, Abel didnt know him. He had nothing to prove. Bittu made up his mind, sighing deeply he dodged a slow moving transport truck and then began speaking.
“I was born on Draken V Abel. I watched my parents toil their lives away in those fields. They could have provided us with modern equipment, but they didn't. The most sophisticated thing we had looked like the rejects from some Aumite colony. Steam powered tractors and livestock drawn plows, of course we didn't know any better. It was the way things were.” he paused as he had to maneuver around another slow moving vehicle on the skyway.
Abel butted in “That sounds wrong. There are no laws against that kind of treatment?” the big cyborg asked him.
Bittu shrugged and said “No, it appears not. That's why I left. I wanted to find justice, but all I ended up finding was more corruption. Everywhere I looked I found pain and suffering, the strong exploiting the weak. I figured if I wasn't going to make a difference I might as well take some of the evil bastards with me you know?” He said with a savage grin.
To his surprise Abel started to laugh. Bittu was a bit upset, the whole story and he laughed? Before he could give the human a piece of his mind the man spoke “Well, then you certainly picked a good place to do it. Shikago is almost as corrupt as it gets. I feel the same way, I only have a few weeks of memory to draw from, but already I have seen debauchery and greed. Up at the highest possible levels too. It's my mission to expose this corruption and take the guilty down a few pegs.” Bittu smiled as the man finished.
What a grand day that would be, the high and mighty of the city's elite no longer being untouchable. It would never happen of course, but who was he to crush a poor cyborg’s dreams?
Instead he turned his attention back to the road. They had already moved a few levels down and were approaching their patrol zone. He shifted to the exit lane and drove onto the ramp down to the elevated highway that circumnavigated the city level. The level looked markedly different from the ones they had just descended through. In his years in the massive stratocity he had noticed a distinct hierarchy to the city. The higher up the structure one traveled the more opulent the construction became till you reached the administrative spires near the VIP space port at the tip.
The buildings on level ninety eight looked well built, but worn down by the passage of time. The city itself was a few hundred years old, its infrastructure slowly deteriorating as the city work crews fought an ever losing battle to maintain the behemoth structure.
Abel pointed out the window and asked “What is that?”
Looking towards the man’s gesture he saw a large structure in the distance. Its exterior was painted a ruddy rusting orange color and it was tall, almost reaching the ceiling far above. “That? That's the level ninety prison megacomplex. Its minimum security and houses most of the criminals we pick up on day to day operations. Petty thieves, tax evaders and the like. Maximum security lockup is three levels down, and it's not a place you want to visit. Trust me.” he said ominously.
Abel asked “Why not?” to which Bittu sighed.
He looked around for an exit ramp and then took it saying “It’s just not a very nice place. The people are scum, the guards are scummier. You don't get assigned to work a position guarding that festering shithole by being on your superior's good side. That posting is a punishment, the worst of the worst get sent there. Life without parole, lock the door and throw away the key types.” he explained as concisely as he could.
“Oh.” was all Abel said in response.
Bittu shook his head, his patrol glasses dampening the glare of the prevalent halogen lights bordering the main road they were driving down. He turned a corner and pulled to the edge of the road.
Abel looked around and asked “What's happening, where are we?”
“Nothing’s happening, yet at least. And we are in the side alley behind a Shabino’s sandwich joint. We are holding position till we get a reasonable report to move on.” Bittu informed the man.
He suddenly wondered if Abel could eat. Before he could ask him however he heard the scanner fizz as it picked up a local transmission. “All level ninety-eight responders we have a reported break in on Seventy-fifth and Twenty. Please be advised there are reports of gunshots in the area.”
Bittu looked at Abel and smiled as he turned on the lights and sirens. “That was fast, looks like it’s time to get to work!” He said cheerfully as he stomped on the gas pedal.
The cruiser shot forwards with powerful acceleration and Bittu smiled even harder. This was what he lived for, the rush that preceded bringing justice to the scum that rummaged around the city. He took the first corner a little hot and Abel exclaimed as they nearly sideswiped a delivery van.
“What the, whaaoh! You almost flattened that pedestrian Bittu!” The cyborg exclaimed as they whizzed down the street, civilian vehicles screeching out of their path.
Bittu grinned and said “They had plenty of room. Besides, they should know to get out of the way.”
He saw Abel shake his head from the corner of his eye but the man said nothing more, instead he pulled his gun from the partially internalized leg holster that Bittu hadn’t seen before.
It looked like they were going in full bore, he grinned again as they neared their target. The bad guys wouldn't even know what hit them.
***********
Abel sat back into the padded seat of the cruiser as he tried to ignore Bittu’s somewhat erratic driving.
They took another corner at high speed and Bittu finally started to slow the vehicle down. Abel looked around and noticed that they had arrived at the location of the call. Several buildings down there was a small group of people standing huddled under the awning of a large apartment complex.
Bittu parked the car across the street and Abel climbed out with his gun drawn. He was using a modified variant of an EMP50, a popular electromag pistol well known for its stopping power.
As soon as Bittu exited the cruiser he spoke to his assistant “Sirens off, crowd control mode.”
The cruiser’s siren shut off followed by a repeating message from the vehicle “This is a police action, do not interfere. Interference with a police action is punishable by a three month sentence in minimum security lockup.” Abel shook his head slightly at the message. What a world they lived in.
Bittu motioned for him to follow and crouched down behind the cruiser on the opposite side from the building. Bittu looked at him and asked “Alrighty then rookie, this is your first crime scene. What do you think?”
Abel looked over the edge of the cruiser’s roof. He could see the entrance to the building. A brick facade with small windows and a side escape stairway. It looked to be some manner of apartment complex complete with a front lobby area. The small crowd of onlookers had moved back from the building when they rolled up but were still close enough to be in danger. He thought about it and then turned to his partner.
Abel gestured to the onlookers and said “We need to get these people back, then we should breach the atrium.”
Bittu nodded and flicked his violet eyes over towards the rubberneckers. Standing he shouted loudly in his tenor voice “Hey, get back. What do you want to get shot!?”
Abel frowned at the nerivith man’s lack of tact but had to admit it was effective. The crowd dispersed almost instantly at the sight of an angry officer waving a shotgun.
With the crowd dispersed and out of immediate harm's way Abel looked at Bittu and said “Let me go first. I have a much better chance of surviving a bullet than you do. Even with that vest on.” He said pointing to the shorter horned man’s aggregated hyperdiamond buckyweave vest.
The vest was capable of stopping even small caliber hypervelocity rounds and some types of laser and beamer shots. Though Abel was pretty sure the man wouldn't want to test the claim.
Bittu nodded and motioned to move out saying “Ok then fair enough. But don't get blown away on your first mission. Tegu will take it out of my tail.”
Abel gave the man a reassuring pat in the shoulder and the stood. With all the speed he could muster he shot across the narrow road and to the front of the building. His back slammed against the brickwork, shattering it in a few places as he held his gun at the ready. Nothing shot at him and so he eased over to the front entrance.
Pulling up his wrist embedded computer he reported “Officer Abel responding to an altercation. Reports of gunshots in the area.”
After a moment he motioned for Bittu to cross and waited till the pink man was standing on the other side of the building's interior entrance.
Bittu looked at him and asked “You're not calling in for backup are you?”
Abel shugged and said “Not unless you think we need it.”
Bittu grinned widely and shook his horned head. “We have got this. From what I can see its a standard break in, smash and grab. The gunshots could be anything from hostile action to self defense. We should proceed with caution.” the smaller man nodded.
Nodding back Abel cracked open the front door of the building. It was regular glass not glazmite and so it would offer no protection against potential attack. Peeking around the corner he saw the coast seemed clear. He threw the door open fully and Bittu grabbed it and secured it to the wall to keep it propped open. They moved into the building’s atrium together. The large decorative room a little worse for wear.
The wallpaper was faded, the chandeliers dusty and the decorative pillars were chipped and damaged. All in all it looked like any of the other buildings on the same block. Cheap and affordable housing to those less fortunate and of lesser means.
“This place is a dump.” Bittu hissed.
Abel was inclined to agree but instead replied “And yet this is far from the slums. I wonder why our guy decided to rob this place. The inhabitants clearly don't have much in the way of wealth.”
Bittu shrugged his narrow shoulders and stalked alongside him. “Who the hel knows. Or cares, we get the baddie and then we haul em back to the station for questioning. As long as they don't resist arrest that is.” he said a little darkly.
At the end of the tiled floor there was an elevator. Abel looked at it and then decided that the stairs might legitimately be the safer option. “Do we know what floor the disturbance was on?” he asked his partner.
Bittu shook his head “No specifics, just that it was in this building and on one of the upper floors.”
‘Great.’ Abel thought silently. Just their luck to get put on a unknown altercation. All they had to go on was the rumor of a crime, not a report of the crime itself. He squared his shoulders and started up the stairs.
Bittu halted and asked “What are you doing? The elevator is right here, Abel?”
Abel shook his head. “I wouldn't trust that elevator with my life, much less the lives of multiple others if we alert the criminals to our presence.”
Abel continued up the stairs, smiling slightly as he heard Bittu sigh and move to follow him. He lifted his EMP50 up and into a ready position. He looked around a solid stairwell wall quickly before ducking back into cover, he hadn't seen anything.
It was then that Bittu moved up to his side and produced a small electronic scope. “It pays to come prepared. All clear, see?” the man said as he poled the tool around the corner and continued up the stairs ahead of him.
Abel shook his helmeted head. He was definitely still learning the ropes it seemed. It was his first day actually on patrol afterall.
Bittu and Abel continued on in that fashion, checking floor after floor for signs of the disturbance when Abel stopped. Another sound reached his enhanced hearing, a crying baby, the sound of someone treading over broken glass, the click of a hard object bumping into something.
Abel motioned for Bittu and whispered “This is the floor.”
His lanky partner adjusted his bullet resistant vest and asked “How can you be so sure? You know something I don’t rookie?”
Abel tapped his helmet and said “I am possessed of greatly enhanced hearing than you. I can hear suspicious activity on this floor, trust me.” Turning from his more experienced partner he approached the landing door. The building was old, low tech, the door was an old manually operated swinging design. This made it a relatively easy affair to open it a hair so he could peek down the long apartment hallway. He saw nothing immediately out of the ordinary and so switched his helmet to alternate frequencies.
Looking at the carpeting he noticed a slight thermal residue that picked out a series of overlapping footsteps. He cocked his head.
“Bittu, we have more than one potential hostile.” Abel said as he closed the door silently.
Bittu opened his mouth and said “What? How could you possibly, you know what. Nevermind. Another fancy gadget of yours I assume?” Abel nodded and the man just huffed. Bittu passes a long fingered hand over his face, his features a mask of different conflicting emotions.
From what Abel knew of the nerivith they didn't suffer from anxiety and stress in the same manner that humans did, though if he had to guess he would say that Bittu looked a little stressed at the moment.
“Should I call for some backup Bittu?” Abel asked him.
The man seemed to think about it for a few moments before saying “I don’t think we should wait. We are here on scene, we can call for assistance if you want Abel, but we are going in now.”
Abel nodded and quickly sent out a general alert saying “Officers need assistance on Seventy-fifth and Twenty, the Greystone Plaza building. Multiple suspects, potentially armed and dangerous. Over and out.”
Bittu nodded and Abel flung the door open before rushing into the cover of a nearby doorway. Bittu followed him on the opposite side. The door was caught by its hydraulics and closed with a soft sigh, not giving them away.
Bittu made the hand motion for advance, putting his shotgun away and pulled out his sidearm. A compact black pistol that looked like a field modified IAC Port-25 high capacity handgun. The twenty five round pistol was common in law enforcement for its ability to reliably put out a lot of rounds and keep on spitting lead in the dirtiest of environments.
They crept towards the sounds of the disturbance. After a few meters Bittu cocked his head and looked at him sharply, it seemed as though they had gotten close enough for him to hear the sounds as well.
Abel was soon able to hear a set of voices arguing quietly. The first was a high pitched yet strangely masculine sounding voice, perhaps a swanith male. The other sounded like a slaaveth, the low throaty gurgling accent markedly different from the first.
The swanith voice asked “Why did we have to keep this little shit alive again?”
The slaaveth gurgled back “Because that's the job we got sent to do. We intimidate the bastard, maybe take a hostage so he pays up. Now stop arguing and grab the bitch. We need to go before some blueskins show up.”
They were almost to the opened door now, Abel was just reaching out for it when Bittu cursed loudly and threw himself flat to the ground. Abel only had time turn his head to the far end of the hall before he was struck by a powerful blow to the upper chest.
The force of the impact knocked his heavy cybernetic body backwards and onto his back. He maintained his grip on his gun though and let off a trio of low powered shots towards the newcomer. He missed, the large trench coated attacker ducking back into the cover of the hall’s end.
Bittu asked “Are you alright Abel? Talk to me buddy!”
Abel growled “I’m fine, not a scratch. That was very unfortunate timing, I never even heard that guy come up the stairs.” He climbed to his feet and shoulder charged the door he had heard the thugs hiding behind.
He burst through the flimsy wood in a shower of splinters and scanned the room for targets. There were none, Bittu followed his grand entrance as Abel moved towards the bedroom area of the small apartment. He popped around the corner and found a human man’s body lying on the ground. The man was alive but appeared to be badly beaten, what's more the window of the bedroom was open.
Abel moved to the window and found it led to the escape ladder and into a narrow alley. Looking out the window he saw the two thugs were busy trying to escape, they had almost reached the ground by that point.
Abel smiled and glanced at Bittu behind him in the doorway “Hey, check this out.” Before Bittu could comment, Abel jumped off the edge of the escapeway.
He had pulled the same stunt before from three stories, now they were six stories up, fully double what he knew his body could handle. As he fell through the air he thought about the consequences of his actions if he had taken it too far. There was a chance he wouldn't be walking away from this. But what choice did he have? His only other option was to let the two escape, and that was not an option he was willing to consider.
The dark asphalt of the alley rushed up to meet him at tremendous speed, he heard one of the crooks just before he landed.
“Hey, do you hear that?” The swanith male asked the other.
Before either of them could so much as utter another word, Abel hit the ground like a meteor. The asphalt cracked and a cloud of debris was thrown out from the force of his armoured feet digging craters into the ground. His right leg took the brunt of the strain without too much difficulty, the limb going dark yellow in his internal monitors. Abel heard a terrible snap as his left leg failed under the extreme load. The limb folded under the impact, pieces of alloy spiraling off towards the two goons. The slaaveth man grunted as he was struck in the leg, yelling in alarm and limping off with a small bundle in his arms. The swanith wasn't so fortunate, a large sprocket caromed off the small avian’s cranium and instantly knocked them unconscious.
Abel grunted in shock and tried to aim his gun at the fleeing man, but found that in the confusion it had fallen from his grip. Abel growled in frustration as he ignored the abundant warnings flashing through his mind. His internal organs had handled the strain almost without issue, but his legs were both fucked.
His left leg was scrap metal, it wouldn't respond to his commands at all. His right leg wasn't much better, the limb twitching spasmodically at random intervals. He had limited control over it but the feedback from the damage was starting to give him a headache and so he forcibly severed the connection to his lower extremities.
Immediately a horrible sense of cold numbness swept through his whole body, the slow burning ache returning. That all too familiar sensation, as if something vitally important was gone. He felt empty, his insides hollow and his mind swam for a while before he heard a voice.
“Buddy, Abel? Come on man, wake up. What the hel were you thinking, by the lords that was a fucking stupid thing to do.” Bittu almost screamed at him in a near panic.
Abel lifted an arm and pointed at the still unconscious swanith male lying at the bottom of the stairs. “I got one though.” he wheezed, laughing painfully.
Suddenly Bittu smiled as well, shaking his head. “You are one crazy son of a shrij, but yea. You sure got one alright. Was that a piece of your leg that knocked him out?” The man asked in wonder.
Abel chuckled again “Heh heh heh, yeah. Mutherfucker wasn't expecting that for sure. What a rush eh?”

2023.06.05 16:37 Deviatorz 2023 IX3 or X3 xdrive30i (M sport)?
Need help with a decision. I’ve narrowed down what I want which is the X3 (xdrive30i) or IX3. I work in China and so both are available. I plan on driving short distances to work, with the occasion long distance travelling for leisure (maybe 2-3 times a year). At best I think I’d drive 10k per year, and that’s really, really pushing it. My plan is to sell any other cars in ~5 years and replace with something else. However, because EV’s are every in China, my guess is that the depreciation rate of the IX3 is gonna be significant. I guess that’s a biggest concern I have…. Any thoughts? Basically, I have to weigh in my savings from getting EV vs ICE X3. TD;DR questions at bottom.
Pros and cons savings wise.
IX3
From my research (anecdotal) the IX3 can get about 350km per full charge (will be using AC when needed) during normal climate temperature (I know winter will be significantly lower, but I’ll give more gracious in the calculation). At 74kWh useable capacity (~$0.20/kWh) that’s about say $15 for ~350km. Therefore @ 1y of 10k is about ~$430 and $2150 @ 5y.
X3 30i (2.0T) (M sport)
For ICE, assuming at ~$1.3/l of gas and underestimate mileage/rough driving @ 11L/100km would cost me ~$1430/year and at 5 years $7150. I’ve overestimate this as gas will get more expensive to $8500. So, savings wise is about $6350 for 5 years. Of course, there are maintenance costs. From what I understand, if the car is below 100K km there shouldn’t be major fixes needed. I asked around in China and if I buy premium oil (and transmission oil changes). This costs about $500 per year…. And I’m heavily overestimating as labor fees are cheap. Diff and brake fluid changes are not expensive (and the latter I know how to do) but let’s say $100 extra per year. This car will need a brake pad change so average another $100 per year. Total oil changes cost $700 per year. Are there any other fluids or maintenances that I’ve missed?
So, $700 per year of maintenance would cost $2800 for 5 years (1st year free). Heck, I’ll tack in another $2000 for whatever additional maintenance I need. So, in 5 years I need to pay an additional about $11150 ($6350 + $4800) in 5 years. Obviously, I save more if I drive more distance with the EV, but I doubt I will since work is 6km away.
Price difference
Here’s where the major savings are. EV in China is tax free + rebates. It costs ~$51K after all costs. X3 costs $62k. So, difference is $11K. Hence, in 5 years I save about ~$22K with EV. Now, my major question is, how much more will the EV deprecate compared to the ICE? Will it be more than the $22K I save? I know for sure EV will depreciate much more than ICE as there are too many different EV brands in China. My gut feeling is the IX3 will be worth close to nothing after 5 years….
Both are pretty much decked out with Harmon/Kardon speakers, 20” wheels, etc. The EV does come with HUD and lidar I believe, but that’s not a selling point.
Other pros and cons
IX3 pros: I have a dog, so dog mode might be nice. Decent amount of charging stations in city, non-existent in highway. I can get the front grill changes to look like X3 without much extra. Faster 0-60km/h acceleration. Possible $22K savings.
IX3 cons: heavy depreciation, RWD only.
X3: pros: it’s an ICE. I love engine sounds and will never get tired of it (15+ years of driving). Great for long distance trips as I don’t have to look for charging stations. Slightly more trunk space. AWD….. Lots of X3 driving around, parts shouldn’t be too expensive (as what a few mechanics have said).
X3 cons: possible additional maintenance cost. I never owned a BMW so please let me know if there are issues that will occur after a bit of driving (therefore more cost). No dog mode (but I’ll turn the engine on for AC if needed). Possible overheating issues.
TL;DR Questions
Will IX3 depreciation much more than the X3 30i compared to the “gas and maintenance” savings I get?
What are the major maintenances for the ICE? (just oil, transmission, brake, and diff fluid changes, brake pad changes, possible more wear with tires?).
I assume no maintenance costs for the EV?
Will there be other issues (major leaks or plastic deterioration) that require many changes within 80-100K mileage on ODO?
How much will the EV bat deteriorate after 5+ years?
Realistically speaking, I think I would drive around 8000KM a year…
Really appreciate any input. This is quite a big purchase for me, but I do like BMW…..

2023.06.05 15:37 Sad_Ad_2615 1-Year experience with Malibu, Things to know if looking to purchase a new Malibu/Axis boat
The 1-year mark of the beginning of my problems with my first new Malibu boat has recently passed to no resolution of my problems. Therefore, I figured it's time to share my experience with anyone who may be considering a Malibu/Axis product.
In April 2022, I purchased a new Axis t250 off the showroom floor at Lake Norman Marina and it was great for the first few weeks, but on Memorial Day weekend of 2022 after a rider had fallen, the boat would no longer start. After about a week of the boat being at the dealership, they decided it wasn't just the starter and for some reason the transmission needed to be changed. About 2 weeks later I got the boat back, went out 3 times, and the transmission actually blew. They changed it again, and on my 3rd time out again the transmission blew. They changed it yet again and on my first day out the engine temp was skyrocketing and fluid spilling out, turned out a hose had not been secured properly and was spilling into the engine bay, but on the 4th time out, the transmission blew once again.
At this point, the entire month of June had passed, I had multiple issues with their maintenance practices and communication and had not received any offer of compensation for tows, no paperwork for warrant work performed, no contact from Malibu, or even an apology from the dealership. The boat had under 40hrs on it, and I had spent probably 15hrs on the water waiting for tows and being towed in. But the dealership and malibu decided to change the entire engine. 3 weeks in and I decide to call Malibu's engine department and ask how long, an engine change takes. (As an aircraft mechanic myself, changing giant turbine engines on Airbus fleets can be done in under 32 hours). The engine tech informed me it was a 5hr job and they also did not know why my transmission was changed in the first place since I had never received a transmission overheat message. However, I received my boat back about a week later and hoped that was the end, I could finally use my boat. About a week in, some wires to the screen came loose and I lost all my gauges on the opposite end of my home lake and at this point I was fed up. I told the dealership to take the boat back and I never wanted to see it again. I had been paying for a boat for 3 months and only had access to it for under 1 month.
This is when Malibu finally decided to get involved and Robert C. contacted me and admitted that the boat was a lemon. I informed him how I was displeased with the company, product, and the dealership and had never received a single piece of warranty paperwork, not even for the engine so that I could have the serial numbers switched on my insurance. He sounded surprised but ultimately didn't do anything regarding that issue but did offer to build me a new 2023 model year boat to replace my lemon if I just road that one out for the season because "Malibu wanted to earn my trust back as a customer". I expressed my concerns with product quality, the fact I'd be paying for a boat I hate for months, and new loan rates but after Robert adamantly assured me over 10 times that I would 100% be able to keep my same loan, and that my new boat would be put through a more in depth inspection process he called their "dock inspection" I decided to take the deal because pursuing the Magnussen Moss Warranty Act in court could have just yielded the same end result after much more time. Also, for 2 months straight I continued to ask Lake Norman Marina for warranty work paperwork in order to document my experience and the only thing I ever received was a screenshot of the hours of manpower assigned to my boat on one day.
In October of 2022 I submitted my new build and was told the new one would be completed in early spring/March. However, just after Christmas I received a call from the dealership that my boat was ready, and I need to submit for a new loan. I raised hell, right after Christmas when my credit cards were near capacity, 3 months early on completion, after a ton of reassurances that there was no way I would need a new loan at these higher rates, and after I have continued to make payments on the existing crap boat, I was told to get a new loan. I reached out to Robert because he was so adamant about the fact I would not have to, and he proceeded to make a bunch of excuses for the dealership and say it's out of his hands. Where I then responded, why would you make promises you can't keep, about something you have no control over? This was the most important stipulation of the deal to me. That is when I first realized Malibu cannot be trusted. They ran my credit and as I expected my 4.5% interest would now be 9-10%, but luckily, I contacted my loan officer and detailed the entire situation to him. There was no way I was going to pay more money for a boat from a company that had shitted me. I told him, you either keep this loan and continue to make the money off of me you already are, or I am getting a boat from another company with another bank, and you make none. He agreed with my position and after a couple days managed to convince his higher ups to do a collateral swap on my current loan. No thanks to the dealership or Malibu.
Here we are in 2023, new year, new me, new boat, lets fucking see. I take delivery of my new 2023 Axis t235, and she looks beautiful. I take her right to the shop to get some tint thrown on. That evening I take the boat to the marina and hop in to see if they put any fuel in. 88% full, ok well they did the 10hr break in so that could be why. The next morning, I have it fueled up by the marina, still 88%. Some, "dock inspection" and more so how did the dealership not notice this during the break in period? But whatever I am ready to surf and will wait until my first service to have it addressed. Granted, I surf 3-4 times a week and fill it before every outing for weight. Then I recieved notice of the recall on the steering cable block and called my dealer but they had not recieved any tooling to complete it yet. But he told me it wasnt like the boat was gonna blow up, just dont go full power and I should be fine, at most I'd need a tow and I was used to that after the previous year. The boats running great, all sorts of squeaks and dry pump noises I had mentioned on the previous boat to the dealer, and told were normal, didn't exist on this one. Amazing. But one saturday after a rider had fell, and 2 jet skis were coming straight at im I start tapping my horn and it gets stuck wide open. We shut the boat off and on several times but as soon as the battery is set to on the horn sounds, so we decided to get under the dash, mid-lake, and disconnect the button. While this is happening I just so happen to get an e-mail from axis to submit a review on my boat and experience. Which I answered honestly; boat runs good, salesman good, not too impressed with company, dealership bad. Within minutes Logan K. sales manager, and son of the dealership owner e-mails me, 6pm on a Saturday, and says, "I cannot believe you bashed us yet again. Actually, I can." and proceeds to tell me they will no longer work on my boat, also that he has CC'd his entire service department to let them know. I respond telling him how all I did was answer the questions honestly based on my experience, and that him unprofessionally e-mailing me with a refusal to work my boat because of that, with the several existing issues is not in line with Malibu's statement of wanting to earn my trust back. He stands by his statement and says that they will not work the boat, and that I need to reach out to one of 2 other dealers farther away to have them correct the problems. The following Wednesday I go to surf and my marina manager tells me Lake Norman Marina was here earlier that day and had pulled my boat out to do some recall. I immediately e-mail Logan, informing him that I would like to know where we stand because if Lake Norman Marina is no longer working my boat, then they should not be touching my property, and regardless I should be informed before they have it pulled out for any work. He claims it was an oversight and will not apologize for the mechanic, even though ya' know, he CC'd his entire service department. From where I am standing, I have no idea if this tech came out to sabotage my boat or God knows what. Now since that initial interaction that previous Saturday, I called Malibu and left voicemails on 3 different phone numbers Mon-Fri of the next week. 15 voicemails and not a single response. So, the next week I go to my local Supra dealership, who is amazing by the way, shout out to Southtown Watersports!
The guys at SW are familiar with my story because every time I have come for boards, jackets, or lead bags etc. I have given them the latest and greatest in my ridiculous experience. They told me dealers have a direct line to the manufacturer and I should go ahead and reach out to the next closest dealer, give them my story and see what happens. Thats what I decided to do, Captain's Choice is 2 hours from me and when I spoke with them, they were just mind blown by my experience. Told me in 20 years he hadn't heard a story like mine. But they were very helpful and said they were going to look up parts and work on my boat and get them ordered so I could get it all fixed without wasting time. Big upgrade there. about an hour later I get an e-mail from Mr. Logan again. "Malibu sent us the parts to fix your horn but I told Robert you said we were not allowed on your property so let me know how you would like to proceed." This ding-dong sends me this, twisting my words, in the same e-mail chain where he is the one refusing to service my boat and I stated that if you are going to refuse service then you shouldn't be on my property. I replied telling him that I had reached out to the other dealer as he forced me to but that I would rather them come fix it, than have to trailer my boat 2 hours each way for something small. The following morning, he replies that he thinks I should just move forward with the other marina, and he would send them the parts. What? After 10 or so days he emailed me about fixing it with absolutely no intention to fix the boat? fuck off. I sent him a strongly worded response signed, "Sincerely, Eat Shit." and forwarded the interaction to Robert, detailing that in the same chain Logan proves he is a liar and twisted my words. I didn't expect a response at this point, but 3 min later Robert finally replied asking to speak on the phone later that day. When I talked to Robert, he once again made a bunch of excuses defending the dealerships behavior while stating he was not taking sides...makes sense. Told me they could do what they wanted and that me trailering by boat 2 hours each way to Captains Choice was a reasonable thing, knowing that the previous boat literally broke every week for 2 months. He informed me that ignoring my 15 voicemails was his call, in order to not escalate the situation, REALLY makes sense. Also, states that he told the mechanic to access my boat for the recall, which is not what ol' ding-dong had said. All trust in the company and especially Robert is lost at this point, so the conversation is useless.
About 2 weeks later I finally have the appointment to get the issues at my boat fixed 2 hours away. A spot in the flooring had bubbled at this point so it was that the horn, the fuel gauge, and possibly the recall. I leave at 530am with my boat to make sure I am at Captains Choice by 8am. Everyone was great there and were just as mind blown as myself that traveling that far for maintenance was considered reasonable by Robert and Malibu as far as "earning my trust as a customer." I was there for about 4 hours, napping in my truck when they took me back to my boat and said they stuck a needle in the bubble and smoothed it flat as directed by malibu, but it could bubble again, and they would then replace the piece. They reconnected the horn and it worked but in case it got stuck again they would send me a new horn unit to my house, seeing as ol ding-dong logan never sent them the parts. I have yet to receive the parts. They said the recall had been completed but was never put into the system which is no suprise seeing as Lake Norman Marina obviously does not believe in paperwork. Then theres the fuel gauge, he showed me that the float will not reach 100% ever, that it was poor design and nothing they could do. I mean, if thats the case I figure the rep for Malibu, Robert should have heard this complaint by every person who purchased a t235 at this point and not sent me 2 hours away for nothing. Anyways, they buttoned her up, and I headed home. Captain's Choice was great and a much better experience than I had previously had at the other dealership but, in total, I spent 9 hours that day and a full tank in my truck to return home with a boat in pretty much the same condition I left with. A needle poke to the floor and recconnected horn that both may fault again, a paperwork update of work performed by someone else, and being told that my 2nd brand new $140,000 boat in a year does not work right straight from the factory.
When I returned home I e-mailed Robert and told him that Malibu can either take this boat back, I keep my experience to myself, and we part ways. Or I will sell it on my own and relay my experience. As expected, no reply, so here we are. During this time I have also made small comments to other Malibu owners posts and been contacted by multiple people sharing their stories with me about the companies poor treatment of customers, and as one 20yr Malibu owner told me, it seems to only have gotten really bad since about 2020. I know some people have had wonderful experiences but this is the honest recollection of my 1yr experience with this company and I think its best for anyone looking to purchase a new boat to know what they may be getting themselves into with this company.
Also, if any other t235 owners read this let me know if your fuel gauge only reads 88% full.

2023.06.05 03:14 richi-carmen Fowl feed processing maker option concept
| There are principles in the option of total sets of poultry feed handling equipment, as follows: ( 1) The chicken feed handling machine used as a whole feed mill manufacturing facilities are primarily ring die poultry feed processing machine, which are preferable for harsh feed granulation. When picking a design, the primary factor to consider is the rationality of structural design, ease of procedure, flooring space, power usage, as well as option of components and components. ( 2) The pellet cooler is to maintain the good storage space of the product after granulation, and also is an essential procedure after granulation. https://preview.redd.it/ehl652uio34b1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b33af14739296e11be5dc1273c6db16db340615c ( 3) Feed pulverizer is a gadget that needs to be utilized before feed processing as well as molding, which can save power usage as well as boost the digestion and also absorption rate of livestock as well as fowl. Today, nearly all feed mills use hammer mills, which can minimize the crushing rate. ( 4) According to the customer's feeding scale as well as feed consumption, select different kinds of pelletizer tools. Usually, the ring die fowl feed pellet making maker can be made use of for home feeding. The equipment can be produced by lighting electric, little footprint, very easy to relocate as well as reduced power intake. If the customer eats a larger scale, such as a chicken feed processing plant, you can select the SZLH chicken feed handling machine, which can produce concerning 800kg-1 lot per hour. These two designs are the very popular versions of the RICHI maker. ( 5) It is really essential to select a ideal feed pellet equipment in the production process. I hope that the introduction of the above material can be valuable for users to select the approach of pellet device. Related post: Pellet Machine For Animal Feed Information of energy conserving in the handling of feed pellets 1. Granulation process ( 1) Under the facility of ensuring the toughness, the opening price of the ring die of the poultry feed handling device and the display of the crusher ought to be boosted as much as possible, so as to improve the manufacturing efficiency and also decrease the power consumption. ( 2) Utilize the ring die fixing machine to repair the ring die in time to improve the granulation performance. ( 3) Sensibly control the result, adjust the die roll void, enhance the granulation effectiveness, and lengthen the life of the ring die and also journalism roll. ( 4) Regularly adjust or replace the blades of the conditioner of the chicken feed pellet making machine, and also raise the stirring pole of the conditioner to enhance the conditioning result and increase the result. https://preview.redd.it/7x8berpjo34b1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b30190ca41731c6444271c0b08ce2a994eb4e6d1 2. Ingredients and also mixing ( 1) Boost the main control operation skills and also coordination level. When the driver receives the production order, according to the production order. The quantity of raw materials in supply as well as the storehouse capacity of the batching storage facility, determine the type, series and amount of inbound materials to guarantee the constant operation of the mixer, as well as will certainly not quit production because of the breakage of some resources. Reasonable feeding will certainly make certain that the crusher begins much less frequently within a certain period of time, and also the air transport time is the shortest. When generating granular materials as well as focused products at the same time, figuring out the suitable switching time is an vital assurance to maintain continuous manufacturing of the poultry feed processing device. ( 2) Adopt variable regularity variable speed controller to keep the electric motor lots running stably and efficiently. ( 3) Material storehouse. The style of the scale container will make sure that the product is discharged without the use of vibratory or mechanical discharge or mechanical discharge. ( 4) Appropriately established the ingredients, reasonably organize hands-on feeding and fluid feeding, and enhance the mixing effectiveness of ingredients. Related post: Chicken Feed Factory 3. Crushing link ( 1) The size of the screen opening matches the crushed product, and the smooth surface area of the screen installation faces outside; the sieve holes are set up up and down; the filter with high opening rate is taken on. ( 2) Change the hammer or replace the hammer as well as fabric bag in time to enhance the crushing efficiency. ( 3) Maintain a great adverse pressure state of the air assist system as well as increase the outcome. The follower arrangement of the dirt collection agency is reasonable, the direction of the follower is proper, the air inlet appropriates, the electromagnetic valve of the pulse dust enthusiast is regular, the filter bag is cleaned each day, and also the air leakage is spotted. ( 4) Feed the product equally with the transmission to keep the tons of the pulverizer constant. ( 5) In the pulverization operation, the raw products that are difficult to shatter and also the raw materials that are very easy to shatter can be blended to enhance the pulverization performance. ( 6) After preliminary pulverization and also micro pulverization, it goes into the category equipment to decrease excessive pulverization of resources. ( 7) For the secondary squashing procedure, inspect the formula basic materials as well as oil material, generally managed within 5%, and also the oil ought to not be way too much. 4. Power transmission Poultry feed handling device transfer power with transmission gadgets such as bearings, reducers, and also transmission belts. Therefore, first of all, it is needed to ensure the typical procedure and also lubrication of the transmission device, reduce the power loss in the transmission procedure, as well as attain the impact of energy saving. ( 1) Select the ideal kind of lube as well as dosage to make sure that the chicken feed handling maker has a good working atmosphere and also state. ( 2) Preserve the appropriate stress of the drive belt, replace the worn drive belt, as well as utilize pulley-blocks and also various other gadgets that match the drive belt. ( 3) Avoid the resonance of the transmission tools as a result of the loosened chain, and maintain the hain at an suitable tightness. ( 4) Maintain the transmission clean, devoid of dust and also waste buildup, prevent neighborhood overheating, as well as enable complimentary circulation of air around the equipment reducer. ( 5) When the chicken feed processing equipment must work at numerous rates, change the mechanical and adjustable belt drive with an air conditioner variable regularity drive. ( 6) Lessen or prevent using pneumatically-driven communicating systems. submitted by richi-carmen to pelletmachinery [link] [comments] |
2023.06.05 01:10 GiveThatGuyABlender Intermittent Stalling on Ford Focus 2013 1.0L EcoBoost Manual Transmission
Hey everyone!
I'm in need of some guidance and advice regarding an intermittent stalling problem I've been experiencing with my 2013 Ford Focus equipped with a 1.0 EcoBoost engine.
The problem occurred today while idling, as I was waiting for the car to warm up. Out of the blue, the engine stalled with a loud thud sound and a sudden lurch forward. It's worth noting that my foot was on the clutch (clutch all the way in), and the car was in gear. The oil light came on at the moment of stalling, but it disappeared once I restarted the car. Also worth noting that I tried to purposely stall the car and the thud wasn’t as loud (car did slightly lurch forward). The thud I’m describing is almost as if someone rear-ended me, but the sound came from the engine
Here are some additional details: - This stalling issue happened in the past, but it hadn't occurred for about a year until recently. - It has also occurred at very low speeds (<20km/hr) before (clutch all the way in, and car in 1-2 gear) - The car had not been started for 2-3 days leading up to this incident. - A major service was recently performed (3 months ago), including the replacement of air filters, oil, and spark plugs. - Since the incident, the car has been driven on the motorway for 6-8 miles without any issues and restarted fine after being parked for 30 minutes. - Last year, when I went to service my car (thats when I bought it), the mechanic told me that the oil pressure sensor was disconnected and that he simply reconnected it.
This car has been driven for approximately 6000 miles since I bought it, and this issue has occurred only 3 times. I’m hoping its some weird sensor malfunction. If you have experienced what this is or know what could be potentially wrong, please do let me know!

2023.06.05 00:12 atticus2132000 Transmission Fluid
Can someone explain the differences between all the various transmission fluids? And how big a deal is it if you put the wrong kind of transmission fluid in your vehicle?
2001 Ford F-150 nearly 300k miles. Transmission fluid was low (there is a known leak). Normally I use the high mileage ATF fluid, but the store was sold out, so I added a quart of Mercon V. Is that a big deal?

2023.06.04 23:30 khoafraelich789 Driven: 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Proves Mid-Size Trucks Don’t Have To Suck
| https://preview.redd.it/nnacw9ecny2b1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=09591c58da67e45c700456841de4978e9c700d84 The redesigned Colorado combines a good ride with a nicer interior as well as an all-new turbo engine Trucks are as American as apple pie, but most of the attention has been focused on the full-size segment. It’s been that way for decades, but smaller trucks have finally stepped into the spotlight. The Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz revived the long dormant compact segment, while 2023 is shaping up to be the year of the mid-size truck thanks to new entries from Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, and Toyota. That’s a ton of new blood and we haven’t even mentioned the Jeep Gladiator and Nissan Frontier, which are still relatively fresh. We’re kicking the year off with the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado, which features a fantastic new design, an upgraded interior, and an all-new turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. However, the biggest news might be value as the truck starts at $29,200 and you can get one with four-wheel drive, adaptive cruise control, a bed liner, and a ton of safety features for under $37,000. A Sporty And Stylish Design While there’s a lot going on, there’s no better place to start than styling because designers knocked it out of the park. The model has “big truck energy” and sports an all-new design that echoes the Silverado. However, this is no scaled down copy as the Colorado has a more youthful and athletic appearance, which combines sharp lines with subtle curves. The resulting design is great and the Colorado is arguably better looking than its larger counterpart. That’s high praise and each trim has a slightly different aesthetic. The entry-level WT is the most basic of the bunch as it sports black components and 17-inch steel wheels. This look is shared with the all-new Colorado Trail Boss, which builds on the WT but adopts a 2-inch (51 mm) lift, a wider front track, and 18-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 32-inch all-terrain tires. The Colorado LT is more traditional as it wears body-color components and 17-inch aluminum wheels, while the Z71 combines creature comforts with moderate amounts of off-road capability. The news isn’t all good as the Colorado is offered exclusively in a crew cab configuration with a 5’ 2” bed. This is a bit of a disappointment as the outgoing model offered extended and crew cab configurations as well as a larger 6’2” bed. That being said, the redesigned Colorado has a few tricks up its sleeve and one of the most interesting ideas is a lockable, watertight compartment that is integrated into the tailgate. With the tailgate down, you push two levers aside to gain access to a compartment that measures 45 inches (1,143 mm) wide and 4 inches (102 mm) deep. It can be a bit tricky to open, but there’s a decent amount of space and owners could easily stash tow straps and other off-road equipment there. While the compartment is a little gimmicky, it’s hard to argue with eight standard tie-downs, integrated motorcycle tire grooves, and an available 110-volt power outlet in the bed. The tailgate can also be positioned midway down to aid in transporting longer items, while a dampened EZ-lift and lower tailgate is also available. An Interior That Doesn’t Scream Cheap Mid-size trucks are far more affordable than their larger counterparts and this cut-rate pricing is often reflected in the interior. However, the Colorado bucks this trend as drivers will find a significantly improved cabin with better equipment. The changes are immediately apparent as driver sit behind a chunky steering wheel and find themselves looking at an all-new 8-inch digital instrument cluster. It comes standard and features an assortment of informative displays including an off-road focused setup, which shows pitch and roll as well as the steering angle and current transfer case setting. Speaking of screens, there’s an 11.3-inch infotainment system with Google integration as well as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It’s a massive improvement over the old 7- and 8-inch displays, and the system is fast, responsive, and largely intuitive. That being said, we did experience a few hiccups including an instance where music was blasting at startup and the system initially refused to respond to attempts to lower the volume or mute. Putting the screens aside, the cabin sports a modern design with classy switchgear, gloss black trim, and metallic accents. The amenities vary by trim and things are pretty basic in the WT and Trail Boss. It’s not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but the models eschew a lot of the bright work, padding, and details that make higher-end variants look and feel special. It’s also worth mentioning that, regardless of which trim you get, black plastic is abound and it’s of the hard variety. Despite being a rough and tumble pickup, the Colorado can dust off its cowboy boots for a night on the town. In particular, the model can be equipped with two-tone heated and ventilated leather front seats as well as a heated steering wheel. While it’s not as fancy as the upcoming GMC Canyon Denali, it’s pretty darn nice for a mid-size truck. Speaking of the seats, the front chairs are perfectly comfortable and spacious while also offering a good amount of support. Furthermore, the entry-level WT doesn’t cheapen out too much, although a front center console is an optional extra. The rear seats are less impressive as they’re not terribly spacious. While there’s a good amount of headroom, legroom is limited as occupants will find a mere 34.7 inches (881 mm) of space and that’s 1.1 inches (28 mm) less than last year’s crew cab pickup. The experience reminded me of the compact Maverick and Santa Cruz, which actually have more rear seat legroom on paper. That being said, the seats seem to be competitive for the segment, although not as generous as those found in the Gladiator. A Turbo Four With V8 Levels Of Torque The streamlining continues under the hood as the Colorado’s engine lineup shrinks from three to one. As a result, every single model is equipped with a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder. The engine has been powering the Silverado for years and it’s available in three different outputs. The entry-level variant produces 237 hp (177 kW / 240 PS) and 259 lb-ft (351 Nm) of torque, which is a sizable improvement over the old 2.5-liter four-cylinder that developed 200 hp (149 kW / 203 PS) and 191 lb-ft (258 Nm). The entry-level engine comes standard in the WT and LT, and offers respectable performance. There’s plenty of power for cruising around town, although we wished for a little extra oomph when it came to merging onto the highway. The mid-level engine comes standard in the Trail Boss and Z71, where it produces 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 390 lb-ft (528 Nm) of torque. Customers can also opt for a high-output version that develops 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 430 lb-ft (582 Nm) of torque. The latter figure is insane as the engine has more torque than the 5.0-liter V8 in the Ford F-150. It also bests the Silverado’s 5.3-liter V8 by 47 lb-ft (64 Nm), despite having half the number of cylinders. The high-output engine comes standard in the range-topping Colorado ZR2, but Trail Boss and Z71 customers can order a high-output calibration for an additional $395. That seems pretty reasonable as it delivers an extra 40 lb-ft (54 Nm) of torque, which will be appreciated if you tow on a regular basis. While the base engine is fine, the upgraded versions transform the truck from good to great. As you’d expect, responsiveness improves significantly and there’s plenty of power throughout the band. Chevrolet hasn’t released detailed performance specifications, but officials we spoke to said all three versions of the engine enable the truck to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than seven seconds. Speaking of the engine, it seems relatively refined and engineers told us it was “designed like a diesel.” As a result, it sports a rigid cylinder block casting, a fully forged bottom end, and a stiff crankshaft – among other things. While that’s just scratching the surface, the engine has been subjected to countless torture tests and was designed to withstand years of heavy use. The engine is connected to a capable eight-speed automatic transmission, which worked well on- and off-road as shifts were perfectly timed and well executed. Rear-wheel drive comes standard on the WT and LT, but the rest of the lineup has four-wheel drive. EPA ratings haven’t been released, but the Colorado has an engine start/stop system and active fuel management technology. As a result, we can expect the truck to surpass the Silverado’s rating of 19 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. It’s also worth mentioning that all of the engines run on regular gasoline, even the high-output variant. A Capable Truck That Doesn’t Ride Rough One of the most surprising things about the 2023 Colorado is how well it drives. Body-on-frame trucks aren’t typically known for their refinement, but Chevy’s entry exceeded our expectations. While the ride can get a little bumpy on rough roads, it’s not uncomfortable and can best be described as truck-like. However, those incidents were few and far between as things settle down significantly on smooth roads and the Colorado proved to be a comfortable highway cruiser, despite having a solid rear axle and leaf springs. The good news doesn’t end there as handling is good for a body-on-frame pickup. Cornering was secure and predictable without any hints of drama until the truck was pushed hard. The experience can also be somewhat entertaining on the right road, although you’ll want to keep your expectations in check. Given this is a truck, it’s not surprising to learn the steering is a little heavy and slow. We didn’t have any problems with the heft, but we wish the truck offered a sport mode with a more direct response as traversing twisty mountain roads required an almost comical amount of turning. Speaking of driving modes, the Colorado offers Normal, Tow/Haul, Off-Road, Terrain, and Baja settings. Terrain mode might be the most notable as it was designed for low-speed rock crawling and it enables you to travel at a leisurely pace with subtle throttle responses. The truck also offers a cool off-road performance display as well as up to 10 different camera views including underneath the truck. Speaking of off-road goodies, the Z71 and Trail Boss come standard with a limited-slip differential and hill descent control. The Trail Boss is also notable for featuring the aforementioned lift and wider stance. Back on pavement, wind noise can be pronounced at highway speed, but otherwise the truck is fairly quiet. The model also sports an impressive amount of standard safety equipment including Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and IntelliBeam automatic high-beams. Customers looking for more safety tech will find an assortment of affordable packages that offer Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Park Assist, and Rear-Cross Traffic Braking. They’re joined by Blind Zone Steering Assist, Rear Pedestrian Alert, and an HD Surround Vision system. Colorado owners like to tow and most versions of the truck have a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 lbs (3,493 kg). This bests the Frontier, Ranger, and Tacoma while also matching the mightiest Gladiator. Sticking with towing, customers can get a package that adds a receiver as well as an automatic locking rear differential, an integrated trailer brake controller, and a trailering app on the infotainment system. We’d also be remiss to mention the truck has a maximum payload capacity of up to 1,684 lbs (764 kg). Mid-Size No Longer Means Half As Good Mid-size trucks have often felt like half-hearted efforts, but that’s clearly not the case with the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado. Designers and engineers poured blood, sweat, and tears into the model and the end result is truly impressive as it looks great, drives well, and features an impressive new engine. On top of that, the Colorado boasts a significantly improved interior, more upscale equipment, and a new Trail Boss trim that should appeal to off-roaders on a budget. Speaking of which, Chevy managed to keep pricing affordable and this means you can get a nice truck for around $42,000. While there are a few tradeoffs, the Colorado is a solid pickup and the one to beat. Of course, there’s no shortage of challengers on the horizon and we’ll learn more about them in the coming months. 2023.06.04 22:49 xTHETYRANTGAMRx Question about transmission fluid.
| So I just checked the transmission fluid on my 1971 Ford LTD and before I turned the car on I checked it and it was kind of reddish and or pink in color. Then I let the car run for a little and wiped the fluid on a paper towel and it was the same color but with some black on it. Maybe because the dipstick hasn't been wipe off in some time? But when I put it back in and checked it again I didn't see any fluid on the dipstick at all. My car has had some issues with the transmission, like when I put it in drive it takes forever to engage and then I put it back in park and then drive and that usually gets it to work. So do I have a leaky trans or is it something else? If it is a leaky trans how would I go about fixing that? submitted by xTHETYRANTGAMRx to MechanicAdvice [link] [comments] |
2023.06.04 21:21 Prophet_Rykar [WP] Humanity's Spirit
In the late 23rd century, the skies darkened with the arrival of the Nokrians. A reptilian race known throughout the galaxies as conquerors, destroyers of civilizations, and relentless expansionists. The first contact had a single, chilling message. Surrender or be eradicated. Humanity spread across Earth, Mars, the belt, and the solar system's farthest reaches bristled at the ultimatum. A united response was sent back. "We are the children of the Earth. We do not surrender!" And so the war for Earth began.
The Nokrian Shields, designed to absorb direct High energy attacks, could not adapt to the bombardment of these human missiles. The loss they faced was unexpected and disheartening. The mighty alien Armada was forced to retreat, leaving the humans to celebrate their first victory. That day, the message of humanity echoed across the solar system. "We do not surrender."
On the Nokrian's homeworld, Supreme Warlord K'rul watched in disbelief as reports streamed in. "So you're telling me we lost our greatest superweapon because humans rammed a flagship into it?" The room fell into an uneasy silence. With a final look at Earth, he ordered his Armada to advance, leaving the future of humanity and nutrients hanging in the balance. A cliff on the horizon of a story yet to unfold.
Operation Thunderbolt. "I must admit humans come up with interesting names," Commander Xok'rath muttered. Staring at the holographic plans of an earth-based counter-strike against his Armada. There's a term they use" "Adrenaline." Virox tilted his head. "Adrenaline?" "Yes," Xok'rath said. Gesturing at a display, an image of a human anatomy diagram appeared, highlighting the adrenal glands.
"Incoming! Brace for impact!" Xok'rath's command echoed through the command ship as one of the earth missiles found its target. The ship shook violently, the powerful shield failling under the human's relentless bombardment.
Serrano was a seasoned veteran, having served in the Solar Defence Force for three decades. She'd fought against pirates and led exploratory missions into unknown regions of space, and now she was helping to defend humanity against an alien invasion. "Commander, your orders?" Virox asked, his eyes reflecting the unease rippling through the command ship. As the Nokrian Armada began retreating, the humans watched from their homeworld, ships, and colonies. They had won this round. Their defiance, unity, and sheer audacity had pushed back the invaders. If only for a while... But they knew this was not the end; the war was far from over. The Nokrians would return more determined, more desperate. Humanity would have to be ready, for they were the children of Earth, and they would not surrender.
Isamu was to infiltrate the Nokrian mothership, gather intelligence, and, if possible, sabotage their operations.
A chill ran down his spine; he felt the winds of change, a shiver of uncertainty. He turned to his Second-in-Command, Virox.
His objective was clear, gather intel on the Nokrian's capabilities, identify weaknesses, and, if possible, sow chaos within their ranks.
His cover was blown, and his heart pounded in his chest as he found himself surrounded and trapped in the center of the enemy hub.
Lieutenant Isamu Takashi, cornered and outnumbered, faced the approaching Nokrians with a defiant glare. And then Earth's forces unleashed their trump card. Wreckage of both Human and Nokrian ships littered the battlefield. And they do not surrender!

2004 Ford Focus ZTS, 5 speed automatic. I’ve found that as I brake into a turn and then try and give it some gas in the turn it struggles to downshift to the appropriate gear. Especially on the turn onto my street I’m in third or even fourth coming up a hill, then brake into what will have to become second but it isn’t until I start pushing down the gas pedal again that it revs in fourth then gears down. Transmission fluid is good.
