Day 80 NC. I have grown leaps & bounds since the start of NC, I just feel so renewed & just so good about myself, life has been looking good for a while now. It’s just comforting to know i’ve made it this far :)
For this post though, I just want to vent/ask for people opinions but not sure if this the right space but alas.
So a month after the breakup i removed him off my snapchat & instagram i couldn’t bare to see his social media & life, it hurt WAY TOO MUCH, so I done that, then his friends started posting videos of my ex and them drunk together on instagram close friends tab (a month after we split his mates still kept me on their privates and close friends list) so i unfollowed ALL of his friends, again because this hurt SO MUCH.
Then it has come to my attention this week that all of my best friends are still on his private stories and instagram stories - like he’s kept them in his private posts etc. - luckily for me, my friends never said anything for the first 3 months - they didn’t mention a single thing he posted because they knew i’d get emotional over it (so i’m very glad and lucky for my friends in that regard) but overall i just find it strange behaviour.
Like we broke up 4 months ago; our friend groups never intertwined while we dated it was very clear: my friends, his friends, so he wasn’t very close with them, and all of my friends have said ‘i don’t know why i’m still on this - i don’t want to see it’ - and after realising many has left the stories.
But yeah just wanted to vent because I do find it strange: a bit of me thinks oh has he done this because he thinks my mates will see him out clubbing and posting whatever, then come running back to tell me? idk? i’m just lucky my friends realised what would hurt me and when.
Just wanted to share this & ask, is this notion/emotion i’m feeling okay? like i just view him as a bit weird now for doing that yeno

I am really in need of advice as a grad school applicant. I had signed up to receive recruiting emails when enrolling for a test and have received numerous emails each day. Some are sent from individual recruiters and show their names, while others are more generic and seem to be sent to a distribution list. One was a follow-up asking if I saw the original email. I have been overwhelmed including a relocation, so I haven’t been responding to each email. The ones I did reply to before relocating, I apologized explaining that I was out of office, but that recruiter didn’t reply back. I’m confused because some of them seem to be about last minute applications to start school this year, while others say priority deadline so would those be for starting school next year? I’m looking to start school next year.
I’m getting stressed each time a new email comes in. Are we expected to reply to each one or just the ones directly sent from a recruiter? Should I find a way to turn off the email setting? What's going on? A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface.
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
What's the plan? On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.
What can you do?
Complain. Message the mods of /reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message reddit : submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on /reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join us at our sister sub at /ModCoord.
Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.

That being said, I would encourage that if your post or comment can wait a day or two and not be posted during the 'protest' time (12 JUN), please do so.

I am really in need of advice as a grad school applicant. I had signed up to receive recruiting emails when enrolling for a test and have received numerous emails each day. Some are sent from individual recruiters and show their names, while others are more generic and seem to be sent to a distribution list. One was a follow-up asking if I saw the original email. I have been overwhelmed including a relocation, so I haven’t been responding to each email. The ones I did reply to before relocating, I apologized explaining that I was out of office, but that recruiter didn’t reply back. I’m confused because some of them seem to be about last minute applications to start school this year, while others say priority deadline so would those be for starting school next year? I’m looking to start school next year.

As above - I can remove the Watch Later videos that I downloaded by going to youtube.com and selecting "Remove watched videos". This removes the video from the Watch List and hence the downloaded video.
It's really annoying however, to have to delete downloaded videos (not on my Watch List) one by one. Anyone have a fix or way around this? Thanks!

For reference I (37 mtf) am US based and was born in New Jersey, though living in California now. I have completed my legal name change and was going to send paperwork to NJ to update my birth certificate before running into a predicament. When I changed my name I also added my partners last name after a hyphen on my last name.
But now I’m seeing the NJ birth certificate update language and it seems they will update it just to the name one has legally changed. Now as a baby I was not pre-determined to marry my spouse by my parents, so I think it would be a little weird to have an updated birth certificate that doesn’t just list my maiden name for the last name.
Does anyone who has updated their birth certificate find any practical need to have done so, or just something more for ourselves? Cause if no practical need I may not even bother because of the last name situation.

This is the build I have put together, and am wondering if this will be able to run League, Val, Apex, Destiny2, and Maplestory 1080p 144hz while also streaming (on discord) with no problems, frame or lag. I am also wondering about the longevity of these parts, as in, if theyre a generation, 1 or 2 years old, how long can i expect these to last under moderately good care, while also running at near or max capacity. I do have a microcenter near me so what all I can buy there, I would rather buy from there and am open to switching parts if there are equivalents that will provide the same specs and reliability at same or lower price. If you have any advice as someone who is leaning towards slightly more cpu oriented activities, please don't hesitate to write as I am very new to the realm of pc building and would like as much help as you experts are willing to give. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.

- Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support! Reminder to join our Discord! Coverage of events will continue there!

Anyone else get have trouble loading the server lists? It'll only show like 2 or 3. And if u keep spamming the server load/refresh button it'll slowly find more. Sometimes I load all of them? Dont remember this happening when I used to fully play this game

Hi, David here!
I often hear people ask the question: how many people must I talk to before I start getting results? Like it’s a video game, and they are asking how many little battles must they go through before their character levels up? These people look at each interaction as simply a means to an end, and don’t really care about the specific interactions.
This apathy and lack of genuine engagement results in most of the interactions going nowhere.
If you are not fully present and authentic in the interactions, you should not expect to form a connection. If you are not enjoying the interactions, most likely neither is the other person.
The reason that this brute force teaching strategy is popular with many social coaches is that it allows them to use the numbers game to their advantage. If they throw you into a 100 interactions, and one ends positively, they can then take credit for it.
They don’t have to actually listen and then critique the individual interactions and try to improve your average conversations. Nor do they even need to necessarily provide good advice.
This going through the motions without authentically engaging the other person while potentially also applying bad advice is most likely why you are not seeing results.
You need to learn to enjoy the process, and that will be hard if you view interacting with people as tiresome work that’s simply a means to an end.

If you are not fully present and authentic in the interactions, you should not expect to form a connection. If you are not enjoying the interactions, most likely neither is the other person.
The reason that this brute force teaching strategy is popular with many social coaches is that it allows them to use the numbers game to their advantage. If they throw you into a 100 interactions, and one ends positively, they can then take credit for it.
They don’t have to actually listen and then critique the individual interactions and try to improve your average conversations. Nor do they even need to necessarily provide good advice.
This going through the motions without authentically engaging the other person while potentially also applying bad advice is most likely why you are not seeing results.
You need to learn to enjoy the process, and that will be hard if you view interacting with people as tiresome work that’s simply a means to an end.

How the internet is going is deeply upsetting. If I didn't remember specific sites from the earlier internet I wouldn't be able to find them anymore with Google because without specific site names, Google no longer offers up great indie sources of info when you type your keywords regarding a topic of interest. It's basically just news articles, SEO blog nonsense (literally containing no useful info, or worse scam BS), and govt agency info sheets.
For example I used to love studying neuropharmacology (active comparison of the hard sciences with peoples' subjective experiences). If I want to collate peoples' experience reports of various combinations (e.g. an SSRI and cannabis, by typing "sertraline cannabis experience', nothing relevant comes up; maybe a generic Wikipedia article about one of the substances, loads of vaguely related drug war style news, some official pharmacy formulation technical sheets about branded antidepressant side effects and prescribing legality... It's just because I remember erowid is a good source that I can add it as a keyword and find that, but no longer are search results full of relevant info & sources that I didn't know of before, like forums, dedicated sites etc). How has the main way we interface with the web gotten so catastrophically broken for anyone interested in learning ‽?!¿

- Reddit recently announced their new API pricing and changes, which will be effective from 1st July 2023. More details broken down by Apollo Dev can be found here.
- These changes will be a huge problem, rendering it increasingly unaffordable for third-party app developers like RIF, Boost, Apollo, Sync, Narwhal, Bacon Reader, etc. to continue their services due to not being feasible monetarily.
- Reddit Official App is also not compatible with accessibility for blind people, which third-party apps do.
- Thus, if third-party apps are gone, blind people will not be able to use Reddit on Official App. The Blind community moderation team is left in jeopardy.
- Reddit is also taking away the ability for these third-party apps to run ads on their apps, which can generate revenue for them and keeping their apps free of charge. Apart from this, Reddit is going to cut-off access to NSFW for all 3rd party apps from 1st July.
- The API changes will also affect a lot of Automated bots, which we have been using on Reddit both by Moderators and Users frequently.

- Lower the price of API calls to a level that doesn't kill Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Narwhal, Bacon Reader, and similar third-party apps.
- Communicate on a more open and timely basis about changes to Reddit which will affect large numbers of moderators and users.
- To allow mods to continue keeping Reddit safe for all users, NSFW subreddit data must remain available through the API.
- You can sign the Open Letter here to make your voice heard. You do not need to be a moderator to sign it. Please remember to keep your feedback free of abusive language and personal attacks.
- We urge Reddit's Management to reconsider the recent API pricing change, finding a compromise that allows third-party app developers to continue contributing to this platform's success.
- We firmly believe a solution can be reached, that can be mutually beneficial to everyone, while also helping Reddit achieve it's goals.

This subreddit will be joining in on the June 12th-14th protest of Reddit's API changes that will essentially kill all 3rd party Reddit apps.
What's going on?
A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
What's the plan?
On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.
What can you do as a user?
- Complain. Message the mods of /reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on /reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
- Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join the coordinated mod effort at /ModCoord.
- Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
- Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.
