6. FEEDBACK I've been working in IT consultancy for almost 7 years now, of which 5 as software tester (in practice mostly manual testing, but I do have experience with Java and have set up some smaller personal projects with Selenium & I do have a technical affinity), and I'm looking to switch employers and start somewhere internally. I can imagine IT consultancy employers have more flexibility to optimise their salary package (net allowance, IP ruling until the end of the year), so I've tried to come up with a gross number that would compensate for those and still allow me to advance in my situation.
Given the loss of IP ruling and assuming a net allowance would also be out of the question, but keeping the other advantages (company car, fuel card, phone + subscription, hospitalisation + group insurances), do you think 4500 gross would be a reasonable number to ask for? Given my personal situation and the taxes on the other advantages, that would land me somewhere just under 2600 net.

- Protective canvas bags for DJs and instrumentalists who need to carry their controllers, mixers, amps, guitars/bass, drums, etc. and protect them from rain, dust and spills.
- Art totes for artists who need to store and carry their paints, brushes, pencils, scissors and other materials.
- Camera pouches for photographers who need to protect their cameras and lenses from scratches, dust and moisture.
- Pet carriers for pet owners who need to transport their pets safely and comfortably.
And these are just some examples. we can make any canvas product that you need or want. Just tell me your problem and we'll find a solution.
Why canvas? Because canvas is a durable, water-resistant, versatile and eco-friendly fabric that can withstand wear and tear and protect your items from the elements. 2023.06.02 10:52 webuyequipment Safety Tips for Heavy Construction Equipment Equipment Planet Equipment
| What are the safety tips for heavy construction equipment? Almost every building job necessitates the use of heavy machinery. Unfortunately, if not utilized appropriately, they can be exceedingly harmful. When operating on or around heavy machinery, workers are frequently wounded by rollovers, accidents, and being stuck in or between mishaps. To stay productive and maintain an accident-free jobsite, use these safety recommendations when working with heavy equipment on the construction site: Training for Equipment Operators Workers should be instructed on how to safely use all of the equipment they will be working with. Classroom and practical hands-on learning should be used to perform training. Safety, hazard detection, equipment safety features, and safe heavy equipment maneuvering are all topics that should be discussed. Workers should be taught how to mount and uninstall equipment safely, as well as how to start it up properly. They should be aware of the lifting loads and load capabilities of the equipment they will be working with. Retraining and refresher courses should be conducted as needed, especially if a worker is seen using equipment in a hazardous or non-functional manner. For any reason, only trained individuals should be authorized to operate equipment. https://preview.redd.it/ms2pweofjk3b1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=3165de5807f1b6880a3a9e204a801077036728ad Be Aware of Your Environment When operating heavy equipment, you must be aware of the area you are working in as well as any potential obstructions. Overhead electrical lines should be deenergized, or if that isnât practicable, barriers should be put up to prevent contact. If youâre excavating, ensure sure any underground facilities, such as sewer, water, gas, and electricity, are identified and clearly marked to avoid harming them and causing delays and additional labor. Workers should be kept out of locations where heavy machinery is in use whenever possible. To avoid hitting other workers, onlookers, or other vehicles or equipment in the area, operators should be conscious of their swing radius, especially when working in tighter places. Equipment for Entering and Exiting This should go without saying, but there is a correct and wrong method to mount and remove heavy equipment, depending on the amount of accidents workers sustain each year. Maintain three points of contact when climbing onto equipment, just as you would when ascending a ladder. When entering or exiting the cab, never carry anything with you. To exit, never jump out of the cab or off the equipment. Entering or exiting machinery that is moving or in use is never a good idea. Make that the equipment is totally turned off, the parking brake is engaged, and any hydraulic pressure is released. To avoid any illegal use, make sure you take the keys with you. Before using the equipment, inspect it. Before each usage, visually inspect heavy equipment to ensure it is in good working order. Check for wear and damage on the tires and tracks. Before starting up the equipment for the first time each day, you should at the very least check fluid levels such as engine oil and hydraulic fluid and oil levels. Check for cracks and deterioration in hydraulic hoses, buckets, booms, and other components. Ensure that all attachments are securely fastened. When the equipment is turned on, double-check that the lights, gauges, horn, and backup alarms are all operational. Ensure that all arms, shovels, buckets, and other tools are fully extended in all directions. Check to see if the cab can spin in all directions if it does. Never use equipment that isnât in good operating order or appears to have been damaged. Not only may you end up causing more harm to the machine, but it could also pose a serious safety risk if not addressed before usage. Only use the equipment for its intended purpose. Each piece of equipment was created with a specific purpose in mind. Excavators are not cranes, and wheel loaders were not designed to transport workers in the bucket and serve as an aerial lift. Select the appropriate piece of equipment for the job at hand and utilize it according to the manufacturerâs instructions. Do not overwork or overload your equipment. Keep in mind the equipmentâs payload or lift capacity. If what you have isnât enough to complete the task, you may need to purchase a larger piece of equipment. If youâre lifting something, make sure all of the riggings are in place. When operating machinery, especially on slopes, donât try to move too fast. https://preview.redd.it/2kt6rwahjk3b1.png?width=980&format=png&auto=webp&s=d368e501234db9fbf94f00f7b58cde7fc759a53e Put your seatbelt on. Seatbelts arenât simply for show; they could save your life. The seatbelt will most likely keep you alive if the equipment starts to tilt or roll over. You may feel prompted to leap out of the cab if the equipment begins to tip or roll over. Regrettably, that is the absolute worst thing you could do. The equipment could topple over and fall on you as you try to flee, or you could be trapped or propelled out as it rolls over, gravely injuring yourself. The equipmentâs rollover safety mechanism is designed to keep you safe in the event of a rollover. The seatbelt will safeguard you from being thrown out of the cab or getting beaten up. Maintain a Clear Space To avoid workers from mistakenly going too close to operating equipment, you should fence off the area with barriers. If youâre moving or operating equipment near workers, engage a spotter and communicate with them by radio or hand signals to keep your blind areas clean. When backing up, this is extremely critical. Yes, the equipment will have backup alarms, but because they are so common on construction sites, they are frequently ignored. Other Things to Keep in Mind Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, strong boots, and hard hats at all times. Make sure youâre loading and unloading equipment on level ground to minimize rollovers when getting it on or off the truck or trailer. When servicing or doing maintenance on equipment, use lock-out/tag-out processes. Use chocks to block the wheels and make sure the parking brakes are engaged. Working with or around heavy machinery should be included in your overall safety plan. The dangers and hazards of working with heavy machinery should be taught to all employees. submitted by webuyequipment to equipmentbuyandsell [link] [comments] |
2023.06.02 10:50 Quick-Engineer-272 I flaked out on my friends. Now I canât help but think that they donât want to talk to me.
A group of friends from school planned a trip to a theme park which seemed really exciting at first, but now itâs filling me with dread. Iâm generally scared of heights and stuff like this makes me so nervous that I sometimes I end being sick. I also donât feel like going because I havenât got the energy to do so. Hanging out with people other than my family really drains me.
I thought it would be better to tell my friends now rather than later since they havenât booked the tickets yet and they donât even know how theyâre going to get there and back (none of us can drive yet).
Am I a terrible friend?

2023.06.02 10:46 Few-Effect-2266 Apartment for my parents
Hi all- Iâm enjoying this subreddit quite a bit. I love learning from all of you and seeing different paths from like-minded folks.
My husband and I live in a HCOL area across the country from family and are expecting our first child. The plan was always to move back east, buy a house in a MCOL or LCOL area and be close to family. Unfortunately my husbandâs job is not flexible for the next 2-3 years so weâre staying out west a little longer than planned. We currently live in good size 2 bedroom condo (1200 sqft) and are lucky enough to have a large private patio (800 sqft) that can be used year-round.
We both work hybrid schedules: 2 days in the office, 3 days from home. The second bedroom has served us well the last several years as an office/guest room, but now that baby is coming, an office/guest room/nursery just doesnât seem realistic any longer.
We are on a few waitlists for infant daycare with no realistic chance of getting in, so we have decided to go with a nanny for at least the first year. Given this, we know itâs going to be next to impossible for both of us to WFH effectively with baby and nanny around, let alone have overnight guests.
We are both very close to my parents who live on the east coast and want them to come visit as much as possible. They are entering retirement so they have a lot of time/flexibility and live comfortably, but they are not wealthy by any means. We love sharing experiences with them and want them to be as involved as they can be with their first grandchild. We donât want them to shell out $$$ for a hotel every time they come, and we also donât want cost to hinder them from visiting.
Homes in our area (even to rent) are exorbitantly expensive. Even if we rented a 3 bedroom house or townhouse in our area, it would certainly be less than 2,000 sqft (likely close to 1,500) and close to 10k/month in rent. Hereâs where my (potentially crazy) scheme comes in. Weâre thinking of renting a 2 bedroom apartment for my parents in a nice community thatâs a 5 minute drive from our place. Itâs in a very family-friendly planned community thatâs walkable with shops, restaurants, Whole Foods, movie theater, fitness centers, playgrounds etc. While my parents would use it when they come to visit, my husband and I would also use it as our office space when we WFH 3 days a week. This would give us the flexibility of basically no commutes for the 3 days we donât go to the office which translates to ~12 hours/week combined. Additionally, since it is so family friendly, itâd be a great place to take our son to the parks/playgrounds etc as he gets older. It would also be great for other family/out of town visitors to use.
The rent is $3,000/month. Even combined with our mortgage/HOA/taxes/insurance payment of $3,300/month, $6,300/month (plus internet/utilities) is significantly cheaper than renting a larger home in our area. I know itâs quite unconventional, but this seems like a good way to give my parents their own space, and a way for us to enjoy the benefits of working remotely while allowing our son and nanny to be comfortable at home. Is this idea totally nuts? Anything Iâm not thinking of that we should be considering? Has anyone done something similar? Or if youâre in a similar situation living far from family, how are you handling things? Appreciate any feedback or thoughts!

Hi guys, Is anyone able to provide me with the required/recommended measurements for dog crates for fully grown german shepherds. At the moment I have and XXL crate fit for a Great Dane, both my shepherds can fit in there if needed lol. But I'm looking for something smaller for each individual dog. I like he idea of having a crate that is a snug fit for my dog as too much space will nullify the point of a travel crate, but also too small will cause discomfort. Any advice will be appreciated

2023.06.02 10:39 ThrowRA23400 Maybe first panic attack in my (29m) life caused probably because of negativity in my actual relationship.
Hello everyone,
last days I have really high anxiety and last night I think I had a panic attack. The thing is that my girlfriend constantly fill our time with negativity and depressive informations. We are still young (m29/f32) and 6 Months together.
Her problems are all over the place. She hates her boss/job, doesnât have friends, problems with mother, my friends, her cadriving etc.
Since we are together I get daily E-mails screenshots of her Boss giving her regular tasks for that day. But she is overreacting on any email at work and reflect that on me.
She bought a nice new car recently. But after that she was for 3 Months afraid - what if she scratch it or something. Every day - constantly. Few days ago that happened and somebody damaged her car on a parking lot. She asked me what to do - my go to was: CALL THE POLICE! She didnât do it, she decided to trust other person that did the damage and went her way to negotiate with her car insurance. Days after that on hourly bases she bothered me with: âWHAT IFâŠ?â questions - even after insurance company already called her and said her that everything is set up and that they will repair her car.
If we put everything on the side I am also constantly listen about her ex. After all this negativity yesterday I said to her that I have a feeling that Iâm losing my breath and that I canât breathe (my heart rate went also through the roof +110bpm to +120bpm acc to Garmin). She said:âOh yeah, my ex also got panic attacks at some moment - thatâs why I left him. It was total mess to deal with thatâ⊠She also concluded that I am problem in our relationship because developing panic attacks. (Never had one in my lifeâŠand now I am totaly confused). I immediately left her appartment in fear and drove myself home. (I think it was a spontan reaction - I didnât know what to do, just panicked, sat in my car and went to my placeâŠwhile having 1000 calls from her and mostly her on the line telling me I am the problem).
About my situation: in the middle of changing jobs (got great offer from Fortune 100 company, but jobs changing is already stressful for me), have tough family situation (as kid kicked out of mothers house and went to fathers placeâŠfinished master engineering degree while parallel working and dealing with life/rent/food and having no money)âŠall that didnât break me, but now in this relationship I feel broken and without way out.
On the beginning of the relationship I checked myself on all STDs before we had sex, but she refuses till this day to do the tests.
TL;DR; I think that relationship makes me anxious and make me develop panic attacks but I am not sure anymore.

2023.06.02 10:34 CostaRicaAdvice Best Places to Practice Spanish
Hello all!
Iâm planning on going on a 10 day trip with my family (all adults and teenagers) to Costa Rica in mid July. We would like to stay in an area thatâs a bit out of the way without a ton of tourists everywhere, but not so out of the way that thereâs not much to do and it feels totally deserted.
Additionally, although Iâm not totally fluent, I speak Spanish pretty well and am really excited about being able to practice my Spanish with natives in a Spanish-speaking country. For that reason, I was looking to stay somewhere that, save some tourists, is predominately Spanish speaking where people wouldnât instantly switch into English upon seeing someone whoâs not a local as I heard is common in big tourist areas like La Fortuna and Manuel Antonio.
I realize that Spanish is much more common in areas of the country where fewer tourists go, which tend to to be the less interesting places (at least in the eyes of foreigners), but was wondering if anyone could recommend places to stay that are mostly Spanish-speaking but still have some interesting things to do and arenât so underdeveloped and out of the way that itâs a major inconvenience for travelers.
I was thinking of flying into Liberia and staying around Playas del Coco/Playa Hermosa (Guanacaste) which seem (correct me if Iâm wrong) to have nice beaches and restaurants and a decently developed city and donât seem as completely overrun by English speaking tourists as somewhere like Manuel Antonio. I was then thinking of making some day trips to some more remote locations and national parks and one multi-day trip to La Fortuna from this âbase.â I am totally open to new plans if anyone could recommend some better locations, though.
Any recommendations for other areas to stay that are better suited to what Iâm looking for or general advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
