I'm having a ring made and it's going to have 4 small emeralds in it...
I asked for high quality emeralds. These are what was offered. First I was shown the photo with a bunch of emeralds and I was told she'd pick the best ones. The second photo is what she sent when I asked for some close-ups. Is it just me or are these extremely low quality? They look cracked to me. The size should be about 2.5-3 mm. Shouldn't it be possible to get a much better quality at this size?
Now I don't know if I want to move forward with the project or not, or settle for lab made when I really wanted natural for this piece. It's a ring for my husband with an asscher cut amethyst for the main stone.

2023.06.06 14:28 TheEJB1999 Best Forbidden Door opponents for Claudio Castagnoli?

Who do y’all got? I think it’s a given Claudio defends his ROH world title on the show being that he’s one of the best in ring workers in the company and has a lot of potential “dream” level matchups on the table.
For example, I’d LOVE to see Claudio vs Tomohiro Ishii after watching them together in the 6 man tag from Dominion this past weekend. I’ve also been getting more into Shingo Takagi and THAT match would just be unreal if he were to challenge Claudio. Who else could you guys see having a great match w Claudio for the PPV? This is so exciting I love this time of year and hope Forbidden Door season becomes tradition!!!

2023.06.06 14:28 Anonymous_SA I think my partner has an ED

My gf is wonderful, the most authentic, lovely, caring and beautiful person you could ever meet. Her heart is made of pure gold, but she struggles to see the value in herself. She (27) and I (26m) met on social media, about 4 months ago and everything went well: we became friends and eventually fell in love. She used to send me cute pictures of herself regularly, and we used to get on quite well. Initially, I thought she was single, but when we met, I found out that she's been in an unhappy relationship. She has been dating this 31 year old manchild, who uses her car to drive around, and still does ever since they broke up. They dated since she was 15 and she was unhappy with the relationship two years before she and I met. Being together 12 years, he was her first in everything, but she wasn't happy. Let it be known; she didn't cheat on her former bf with me, she eventually broke up with him. And a month later, she and I got together.
The ex still stays in her parents' house, in a separate flat. He drives around with her car wherever he wants; yet she doesn't have access to it. Her dad works constantly until very late in the evening, and when he's not, he goes mountainbiking. He promised that he will help her ex look for another car, but nothing has yet come from the endeavour. When he is at home, he seems to only be present when they have a BBQ every Saturday. Moreover, her brother gets a shit ton of attention from her mother, who constantly breaks down and cries because of him. He had a psychotic episode (not more than a month ago) that rendered him absolutely manic! He had to go to a psych hospital and is now on medication: he also had to leave his weed, because now he is on anti-psychotic meds and constantly depressed after all his friends graduated with their degrees, but he didn't (because of said circumstances). She is always there for him, but nobody ever supports her, I try my best to.
She also still stays with her parents, she has no degree, no stable job, even though she has her own business that seems to sometimes get clients (sometimes not). It doesn't seem like she's actively cultivating clients towards attaining her independence. Her parents are also still financially supporting her ex-boyfriend, and are helping him look for a vehicle after he (initally) sold his a few years back, in order to get another one - yet he didn't. Now, she's stuck without her car, her parents aren't doing much about it. And she bears the brunt of her absent parents who pretend like everything is fine. And so do I...
Now the issue of a (possible) ED comes along: my gf has been diagnosed with anxiety. She drinks sleeping medication, because she also has insomnia, and takes other meds for her hereditary low blood pressure. She's a "walking pharmacy", as she sometimes jokes about it. She slept over at my place twice before, and we have been seeing one another, once every week consecutively, since we met. When we didn't, we would video call in the evenings and watch our favourite TV-shows together, or we'd just have deep conversations.
About two weeks back, she came to sleep over at my place and everything was normal, until I suggested we watch a funny (yet, educational) TV-show about sexuality. She wasn't really receptive to the idea, but later conceded when I suggested politely that we could watch something else, if she'd like. We watched the trailer of the first episode, and I immediately paused because she felt uncomfortable: I tried to inquire why, and she told me that her ex used to watch porn and hide it from her, when they dated. She felt that it violated her, and that he was receiving pleasure from other women's bodies, and subconsciously felt he was comparing her with them. She became extremely self-conscious and started working on herself, because she picked up weight (weighing at most 70kg) and brought it down to 50kg. She was healthy and at peace with herself after being very hard on herself and her exercise routines.
To what extent she was hard on herself, I don't know. All I know is she has a fear of being "fat" again and simultaneously doesn't want to pick uo weight for that reason whilst still building muscle. Since our weekend together, and the TV-show episode (pardon the pun). She withdrew from me, and has since been lost in a vicious cycle of dieting and exercising. She drinks coffee in excess, she drinks fatburners. She always mirror-checked herself, when she was at my place (even before what happened - happened). Eventually she told me that what happened triggered her, and that she needed a little time. And that I need to be patient, she will eventually get over it...
I honestly try my best, but I notice that she's not eating properly (even though she tells me she does), she obsessively works out every day. She weighs herself every day, after her workouts. And she counts calories, while eating half or very little of certain foods. Now she's scheduled for a minor invasive eye surgery, and this brings along a new set of issues in and of itself. She's doubly exercising, drinking excess caffeine (more than she does normally) and all our conversations are either about food, or exercise: there's no depth to our relationship anymore, giving me the idea that she has an ED (a form of Anorexia). She doesn't communicate anything to me, beyond superficialities. And even when we do chat, she's exhausted from her exercise routine! Even when we video call, she keeps her camera off because she feels that she doesn't look her best. And I feel as if I've lost her...
It was her birthday that same weekend we spent together and the trigger episode happened. I gave her a promise ring, last week, when we talked through everything that happened and things felt like it became normal. No matter what I say or do, nothing seems to work. I can't seem to reach her, because she's sucked so far in a void of her own body dysmorphia, and I feel like I can't reach her. Aside from the fact that she has severe trust issues and no friends, this makes things even more difficult. I don't want to give up on her, because I really care for her, and I just need help. Her medical aid is exhausted and her parents can't afford expensive treatments now.
What do I do? Do I do nothing? Do I leave it in her hands? She's on a path of destruction that will ultimately destroy her. Sorry for the long writ, I just have nowhere else to go.

2023.06.06 14:27 Abdecdgwengo Advice on roster

Hello fellow Arkesians, just wondering what you folks would do
I have 1580 arti as my main and 1540 GL, DB, Sorc, Bard, Pala as my alts
Wondering what I should be aiming for next? Am I good to keep my alts parked at 1540 until akkan or should I start pushing one or 2 of them before to 1580?
Is it worth using bound mats on the main before new gear? Heard 1580 to 1600 is the same as getting a char from like 1460 to 1580 so I think it's prob best to wait and convert to new mats?
All my chars are 5x3+1, except the GL (I am not paying 150k for a 40 quality ring for 5x3+1), but the GL will get there when I find the right accessory for him.
So am I good to just save for now or should I be focusing on something?
Main reason I'm asking is because I didn't think is get any alts to 1540 pre elgacia but I got pretty lucky with my hones on my alts, no pitys, so yeah, am a bit ahead of where I thought id be.
Insert F2P enjoyer here etc etc
Many Thanks!

2023.06.06 14:26 Efficient-Ad1474 My Grandfathers House is haunted by something

Sorry for the long text
So I would like to get rid of a few things about the old old house of my grandfather, prehistory: the house was built about 200 years ago, as far as I know there were often soldiers in WW2 and a few were often given shelter, one disappeared after a few days without a trace,It was also an old Restaraunt, About 40 years later my grandpa found an old cross in the garbage and decided to restore it, after a few weeks strange things happened, Mary and Jesus pictures started to sway without wind or any human influence, the whole house was shaking without wind that day or similar and in bavaria there are also no earthquakes, loud noises in the basement,My grandfather then mounted cross on a nearby tree, since then it is always foggy around the tree. My grandmother had cancer and died of it, she had a phone in her room which was only connected to the phone in the living room if she needed help, she could not call anyone else with it, a few days later when she died the phone rang in the living room with the number of my grandmother's phone, when you answered the phone you heard only breathing then it hung up, First there was no longer a connection to the phone downstairs, and secondly the contract of the phone was terminated. My grandpa then died December 2015. Now 2023 I myself have already experienced many things... Story #1 Me and a buddy went at 23 o'clock at night to the house to get something, We then got to the kitchen, to get into the kitchen you have to go from the hallway left through a door, we then closed the door behind us , suddenly someone knocked, we panicked but still decided to open the door but there was no one, suddenly there was a loud bang, we ran quickly back to the kitchen, after a few minutes we heard footsteps in front of the door,we then looked outside but again there was no one to see, we then heard someone from the hallway ran towards us but there was no one to see either, we ran directly home Story #2 I and a colleague have met in the evening and we where chilling in the living room, the living room is directly connected to the kitchen, after a few minutes we heard above us a loud bang and loud footsteps, my friend panicked and waited outside and I went upstairs alone, and have looked but there was no one to find Story #3 Once a friend and me decided to set up 2 cameras in the hallway, at the end of the hallway there goes a door straight into the stall and on the right a stair to the bedrooms and attics, my buddy pointed his camera towards the stairs and to the beginning of the hallway, and I pointed the camera from the beginning of the hallway towards the end, when we went to get both phones, both phones where on the floor with the camera pointing towards the ceiling, both video cutted off at the exact same time and both fell to the floor at the exact same time Story #4 Me and a friend went to the house at night, we wanted to film on the 2nd floor, at the top of the stair there are 3 doors, one at the front, on at the left and one at the right, we went to the right floor, at the door there is a chair to block the door, so we got in the hallway where at the end right and left are open doors, then went in and have not discovered something suspicious, when we looked at the recordings afterwards you saw in the left door a hand and a face, it was clear to see, but we checked the rooms and there was no one there, Sadly i dont find the recordings anymore Story #5
When my cousin and i where kids we sleept at my grandpas house, we then went to the toilet at night when we suddenly heard very loud scratching on the front door, we then thought we are pranking eachother but then it happened again at the time we where talking My mother has lived about 2 months after the separation with my father in the house because it is her parents house, she said after a few weeks she felt very uncomfortable, not welcome and always watched, she had many sleep paralyses and also heard footsteps, loud noises, etc. and then quickly moved out again. Things happend again and again, lights go on and off, doors open on its own, things lie on the floor, footsteps, voices, things are moving, most of the time the people are feeling very uncomfortable. At each visit strange things happen, will spend the days in the house alone and will take my camera and try to film something, I will post it here if some of you are interested. I hope yall can help me/us to figure out whats going on, and please let me know if someone has expirienced similar things Sorry for the spelling i am from Germany and i tried my very best to write this Text

2023.06.06 14:25 Tuddymeister Specialist Mining Question

Hey guys, this may be a kind of wierd question for this subreddit, but after lurking for years and looking on a lot of your old posts on here, I think Ive found the right people to ask.
Ive been playing for years, but suddenly all of my Expanse friends discovered the game. Naturally this means that they assume I know where the most "Belty" systems are. So Im asking yall, the discoverers of incredible, unique, and downright unusual systems- Is there a system(s) outside the Inyalowdy bubble, but not too far or on the fringes of the bubble, that has rocky rings, maybe a good ring for laser, ideally an asteroid station (not super important, that really gives off the poverty stricked belt vibe?
They wanna run supplies and deep core mine all day. I know nothing about core mining or where all the best systems are at. All I know is you dont really need hotspots and rocky rings are fine. Thank you all. They arent quite into laser mining yet but I hope to change that soon.

2023.06.06 14:20 dxdydzd1 Knight-Errant Samwise Combo

https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/5656143
Another day, another Samwise combo brew.
This one uses another card from LotR: [[Orcish Bowmasters]]. Bowmasters provides redundancy in the 2-mana flash token maker department, alongside Resolute Reinforcements, enabling turn 3 [[Knight-Errant of Eos]] to dig for 1-/2-drops.
Knight-Errant feels very close to [[Collected Company]], a once great card that unfortunately doesn't see much play nowadays. With a mana dork, you could Company on turn 3 for a ton of value. In this deck you're using token makers to convoke Knight-Errant on turn 3 for a ton of value. The difference here being, well, you're playing token makers instead of mana dorks*, which are much less dead late-game and better against single-target removal. Knight-Errant's 4/4 body is also bigger than most 3-drops that you could get from Company.
(*Alright, I do have Vial in this deck, which is basically a mana dork in artifact form, but I've only got 4 of those when most green creature combo decks have 6-7. Removing a Vial is also undeniably harder than removing a mana dork.)
This deck is also quite similar to Goblins: Knight-Errant of Eos = Ringleader, Eladamri's Call = Matron, Resolute Reinforcements/Orcish Bowmasters = Mogg War Marshal (you have 8 of those!). The combo in this deck is 3 pieces vs Goblins' 2, but unlike Goblins, it doesn't require a non-summoning sick creature or a 2-of brick. The tutors in this deck also grab any creature, so you get to play a SB with actual hatebears instead of Tarfires and Sling-Gang Lieutenants.
I'm only goldfishing the deck right now, not playing against real opponents, but it seems surprisingly resilient to removal. I've played a few hands where I assume they'll wipe my board on turn 3 after I get Knight-Errant out, and I'd still manage to assemble the combo kill 1 or 2 turns later. I should clarify that "assemble" means "put everything on the board", not just "have everything in hand", and "1 turn later" implies "they tapped out for a board wipe and I killed them before they untapped". This sounds unreal, but all I can say is goldfish this deck a bit; I swear to god I am not tooting my own horn here. Some things to consider:
  1. Knight-Errant digs really deep for combo pieces, and gets up to 2 of them.
  2. All 3 pieces + Eladamri's Call (to find one missing piece) costs 6 mana. Once you hit 4 lands and have a Vial on 2 (which, unlike a mana dork, survives board wipes) in play, you can cast everything in one turn without exposing anything to sorcery-speed removal.
  3. If you have Viscera Seer, you can scry 4-5 before the board wipe, digging you closer to missing pieces or big spells like Grist, Knight-Errant, or Eladamri's Call for either to help you rebuild.
  4. If you have Cauldron Familiar and it gets killed, you can follow it up with Samwise, then Seer (which will make a Food), and start the loop without having to draw into another Familiar.
Another thing I really like about this deck is the 12 flash/instant cards. You can pass the turn with no mana up and they wouldn't know if you're going to flash in two 1/1s or tutor up a creature. Playing a go-wide deck and getting X-for-1ed by Fury sucks, but here at least the two 1/1s pay for Knight-Errant before biting the dust. And if they don't have another removal spell, they're going to strongly consider Fury-ing Knight-Errant instead.
I could use some advice on how to build a better mana base for the deck (which I detailed the struggles of in the primer; you can read it by scrolling down on the decklist). There might also be a better filler 2-drop than Tidehollow Sculler. The last thing is the 15th sideboard card: hit me with cards/decks that the current 74 isn't equipped to beat, and what you'd SB for them!

Holiday And Best Morocco Tours 2023-2024

https://titritmoroccotours.com/itinerary/the-imperial-cities-and-the-sahara-desert-6-days-tou
Just beneath the high mountain range of the African Atlas is the red city of Morocco known as Marrakech. With a culture that has grown to be so vibrant, free, and pure, who would have known that this imperial city only started as another pit stop for medieval caravans? However, regardless of its humble beginnings, you'll still be bound by its magic spell with the warmth of its people, inspiring history, and colorful tradition. Standing in the middle of the red city walls, you'll know for sure that you're in for a timeless escape with Marrakech travel. But to make the most out of your journey to this spellbinding exotic destination, here are the top eight things you shouldn't dare miss on your Marrakech travel:
  1. Relive the memories of the old city.
The 13th century walls that surround the medina is reminiscent of ancient struggles and battles that took place in Morocco. A tour around the age-old fortresses, gates, and tanneries in your Marrakech travel is a good photo opportunity for tourists. Not only that, you'll also enjoy the inviting spirit of the modern city amidst the well-preserved relics, natural wonders, and architectural pieces of the past. With friendly people and bustling activities around the corner, you'll enjoy every minute of this experience.
  1. Get lost with the crowd at Djemaa el Fna.
Thislarge square that lies at heart of the old city is teeming with too many spectacles and surprises. From bargain shopping to snake charming, you'll never have a dull moment in your Marrakech travel. Open your eyes to a lot of things, which include juggling acts, musical performances, as well as belly dancing. You don't even have to worry about losing your way back to your hotel. As overwhelmingly large as it can be, the square offers a winding escape to interesting sites around the city.
  1. Take a spiritual retreat.
They say that paying a visit to popular trails of mosques, churches, and other places of worship is a wonderful Marrakech travel experience that can be life-altering. However, for those who only wish to satisfy their curiosities, time is well-spent in admiring some of the most exquisite architectural designs in the world. You'll be stunned how Marrakech was able to preserve the intricate details and premedieval style of these structures but much more, how it preserved its solemnity. The famous pilgrimage for the "seven saints" is also found in this city, while the Saadian tombs is highly recommended by most tourist guides.
  1. Shop and explore its very best.
Popular market stands also known as "souks" offer the best treat for bargain shopping. The bazaar is usually filled with exotic finds such as metal works, wood pieces, baskets, and leather sets-- some of which, you'll only find in Morocco. You'll also be advised not to end your Marrakech travel without a belt, jewelry, carpet, or any form of clothing that are found in the souk.
  1. Take a journey to the past.
Marrakech is one of the best places to find age-old ceramics, paintings, mosaic, jewelries, and fabrics. Its museums house prestigious artifacts that date back to more than a thousand years. Manuscripts, contemporary arts, and traditional clothing are among the well-preserved collection. You may also take note in your Marrakech travel experience that museums here are not just brick-and-mortar structures but are also adorned with verdant gardens.
  1. Stay in luxurious Riads in Marrakech.
Your Marrakech travel experience will not be complete without staying in the city's famous Riads. These are residential facilities that top any 5-star hotel in modern cities. With luxurious rooms, overlooking views of the fountain, roof top terraces, and exquisite decorations, Riads are one of the best reasons to stay in Marrakech.

2023.06.06 14:15 Illustrious-Grass102 Hearthstone is in the much better shape now than in 2016-2017 “golden age” and here’s why

First part of the post is presenting arguments and in the end I will explain why the popularity has actually declined. Let me begin by saying that I played a LOT during the early era of HS, the most during Old Gods, Gadgeztan, Ungoro, Knights of the Frozen Throne etc. The time that is now considered to be “the golden age”. So everything that I’m about to tell I have experienced and witnessed
1.Randomness, “nowadays the game feels like everything depends on random card generation”. Indeed, in the older times you didn’t have so much card generation effects. Instead specific rng cards were present like knife juggler, mage’s flamewalker and others, which is arguably a worse way of diversifying games. Because you couldn’t impact the specific rng effects whatsoever. Juggler would either hit a target you want or not, old lightning storm would either kill 3 health minions or not. Yogg-Saron is the prime example of such effects. He could literally win you the game straight up or kill you or do absolutely nothing, it’s random! It’s a fun card to recall now but it was just ridiculous from a competitive standpoint. Whereas contemporary card generating effects almost always give you a room to predict your opponent’s pick and make the correct/best move. For example Hipster only gives your opponent spells that are not in your deck, thus giving a limited number of cards to play around. Rogue concoction mechanic only provides a handful effects to choose, so you can and should anticipate your opponent’s future move and play accordingly. Or DH Taste of Chaos only allows them to discover a Fel spell which again you can anticipate and play around. 2.Balance changes and updates. In older HS you had one deck(undertaker hunter, aggro shaman with patches, pirate warrior you name it) that was clearly better than the other ones and was dominating standard for months! Blizzard made changes very rarely and that lead to cards like Patches the Pirate being unnerfed for almost a year! And that year was 2017. Nowadays they change cards more frequent. We have minisets between expansions that keep the game fresh. And they even buff cards that are too weak! Something that was unheard of with previous development teams. 3.Diversity. Over the years we’ve received many new cool game modes. Classic which is fun to try and find out just how powerful Rogue was. Duels that is completely broken but that’s kind of the point. Free adventures with dungeon runs and lore. Battlegrounds that are awesome and live their own life. Man, in earlier HS there were arena, standard(that was more stagnant), paid adventures and wild, that’s it. When it comes to meta. Nowadays it’s quite difficult to pinpoint the universally best deck in the ladder. Due to the frequent updates the game feels fresh and meta is constantly evolving. With 11 classes meta is more balanced and way more diverse than what it used to be. 4.Economy. I’m sure nobody will argue that it has improved. The current battle pass system allows you to play any game mode you want and still earn resources which is great
“Ok then, if Hearthstone is better now why the popularity has declined so much?” If you haven’t noticed the decline in player count has been happening not only in HS but all over the online card game industry. Gwent that was my favourite ccg and that people used to call “the killer of hearthstone” no joke, has f*cking died! Runeterra also a great game had its peak in 2020 then declined. Marvel Snap had a successful release, now it’s sort of stagnated. Why? Maybe ccg is just a doomed genre? No, but it’s a very niche one. When Hearthstone first released it was a phenomenon. The super high quality online card game like no other from Blizzard! Remember, in 2013 Blizzard was one of the most greatest gaming companies in the industry. Their name alone attracted a huge mass of people. The World of Warcraft was more popular than ever and Hearthstone being in the same universe played in advantage. And most importantly Hearthstone was the first online ccg on such a scale. The hype was immense and other studios began creating their own card games. Hearthstone began skyrocketing in players, that in turn attracted streamers and content creators, which allowed to make a big community that created videos, guides, memes etc. all of which spread through the internet and attracted even more new players. A lot of whom weren’t really big fans of the genre. They were just riding the hype train and trying the big new thing. After a couple of years the hype had faded away and the reality came into view. Collectible card games are just inherently not as attractive to people as shooters, mobas, mmos and other more popular video games genres. So naturally there came the decline. It was approximately from 2018 to 2021. Some games have survived some haven’t(RIP Gwent). But in 2022 Hearthstones actually stabilised. And since then it began slowly growing in numbers again. Card games found their player base and are rising again.
“Ok, ok, but why do I FEEL the game was better back then?” - It’s nostalgia

2023.06.06 14:14 Ok-Reward-6390 21M Brazil/anywhere non uninteresting man looks for half [relationship]

I haven’t even flirted for such a long time, and lately, during those boring lunches where people just talk about heiresses’ dogs’ illnesses (a Pomeranian dog shares all her illnesses with her owner) or gossip about some technocrat who has a limp and who may be cheating on his partner, and while rice with cod is served, I am asked “darling, are you dating yet?”. No, I am not, and here I am, mostly because dating apps are too dull – unfortunately the odds of being flashed by a Jewish 19 year-old from Manchester is smaller on these things, though sometimes you might have some luck and end up being insulted randomly by a Portuguese girl, who is visiting her uncle.
I do have names, and surnames, and I was born in a big city in Brazil. My sister used to describe our childhood address as “a building with cars and trees and buildings”, which is a rather good description of much of the city. For a while I wanted to join the seminary but after having to face the fact that this was an inadequate career choice considering I didn’t believe in God and had always found masses to be awfully boring (though fascinating at times – the priest at my childhood church used to go on long rants about things, of which there are many) often turning my back to see the watch, and so I chose the next best thing: I am studying sociology, which involves, in many ways, taking a vow of poverty. I also work at a small online newspaper so I am well informed on sub celebrities and local occurrences such as babies heroically rescued by policemen after choking on the thing babies eat. And yes, I write poetry sometimes.
I am fascinated fairly often by everything, or many things, at least so you won’t be bored. These last days I ended up reading a lot of things about Egypt after reading about Ottoman chief eunuchs being exiled to Cairo after their tenure. In general, I really enjoy the humanities. I follow politics keenly – in fact, there is some chance I might have some thoughts on your country’s politics – and I’d say I am on the centre-left – pro-choice, in favour of a robust welfare state, LGBTQ+ rights, affirmative action. If you know about Brazilian politics, I voted for Marina and Haddad in 2018 (the voting age here is 16), and Lula last year.
As you can imagine, I also really enjoy reading and writing. Besides poetry, I have often thought about writing a novel, but this seems like too much work – and it seems that it would be arrogant of me to write a novel having lived this little, though it wouldn't be uncommon. I really enjoy learning about other languages and cultures and I know a bit of French, German, Spanish, and Russian, besides English and Portuguese. I’d really like to learn Arabic and/or Mandarin. I am really into genealogy, and I know quite a bit about it. I often cry while watching dumb movies (I cried during Minions!) or listening to beautiful music; my music taste has been described as “fairly gay” and in movies as “slightly gay”.
I guess I am pretty introverted, polite, and timid (well, I am on here after all). I am affectionate and I can be really passionate as well. And I am fairly funny, or rather, I have made a few people laugh over the years. I asked a close friend to describe myself, and that is what he said:
I think you’re very communicative. Shrewd, funny, a good companion. Kind of withdrawn but not necessarily shy. You avoid conflict and unnecessary arguments, but love to participate in good conversations. I think you’re very kind too, besides being polite.
As for what I want to do with my life, I am unsure though I am inclined to go into academia. I have been considering applying to a PhD program in the U.S. after finishing my undergrad here in Brazil. My family does want me to go into their business, which is related to politics. I have also considered going into diplomacy.
Who am I looking for? I’d like someone curious about the world around her, and open-minded.

2023.06.06 14:14 Ok-Reward-6390 21 [M4F] Brazil -3/anywhere -- not uninteresting man looks for a good thing

2023.06.06 14:12 dreftzg [Daily News] Citizen Surprises With Smaller 37mm Promaster Diver Collection, Zodiac Unveils Two New Incredible Colors To the Super Sea Wolf Diver, And Nomos Teams Up With Wempe For An Icy Blue Dialed Tangente

Should we call this big news Tuesday? Both the Citizen and the Zodiac are nice!

What's new

1/
Citizen Surprises With New, Smaller, 37mm Promaster Diver Collection
If I were a betting man, I would put the Citizen Promaster line at the very top of divers when it comes to popularity. It is not an expansive collection of watches like Seiko tends to do, and it is an absolute bargain if you are looking for a tough sports watch that will take a beating. However, the line of people who could never wear one is just as long, if not even longer, due to the size of the watch - 44mm is just a huge watch. Well, no longer. Citizen just announced a new Promaster Diver line in 37mm in three colors - black, blue and pink.
Despite shrinking down the watch below 37mm (and 11.6mm thick), the Citizen Promaster remains a capable diver with 200m water resistance. Actually, it retains most of the functionality and looks of the bigger watch. It still has the very recognizable hands, a 4:30 date window, dive time bezel and the legendary rubber strap. Inside the watch is the Eco-Drive E168 movement which is solar powered and gets you six months of power without the need for light exposure.
All three variations – black, blue, and pink (with a rose gold-toned steel case) – will set you back $375.
This watch comes at a perfect time where a lot of watchmakers are skewing smaller to keep up with changing tastes from consumers. To have such a popular watch in such an appealing package and at such a price, this will have to be a huge hit for Citizen.

Zodiac Unveils Two New Incredible Colors To the Super Sea Wolf Compression Diver
Most divers are a sea of blues and blacks, with the occasional silver and a splash of color. Zodiac has a different philosophy. They are on a mission to create the most colorful and out-there diver. And boy, are they good at it. Now they’re introducing two new core colorways into its Super Sea Wolf Compression collection - the Seafoam, obviously a seafoam green with black, white, and a touch of orange, and the Gulf, which takes on the classic light blue, orange, and silver colorway of the Gulf oil company which served as one of the most iconic racing car livery ever.
Both models feature the same 41mm × 13.4mm steel case with a water resistance rating of 200m, and both have the STP 1-11 movement inside. The Gulf model comes on a five-row stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp and a spring-loaded extension while the Seafoam has a color matching tropic-style rubber strap with a pin buckle.
The Gulf has a light blue bezel with an orange minute track that frames a bright silver dial. If the photo’s of this watch look familiar, it’s because this is a callback to the vintage Zodiac Sea Wolf 1781W, one of the most desirable Zodiac models. While this watch is up from the original’s 35mm, it’s still a close-enough recreation that it makes for a good alternative.
The Seafoam also leans vintage, not so much into the Zodiac back catalogue, but rather into popular culture of the late 50’s and the guitars, fridges and cars that came in an almost identical color. The watch has a seafoam green dial, matching strap, a black bezel, and a pop of orange on the minute hand.
Both models are available for purchase now and the new ZO9304 “Gulf”on steel costs US$1,595, while the ZO9305 “Seafoam” on rubber will set you back US$1,295.
3/
Zenith Blings Up The New Defy Skyline Skeleton With Just Enough Gold
The Zenith El Primero movements really are iconic and Zenith knows this. I guess that’s the reason why they are making some of the best skeleton watches today. Following the earlier Defy Skyline Skeleton model which featured symmetrical black and blue open dials with a four-pointed star formed by the cut-out and the Defy Skyline Boutique Edition with silvery-grey finishes, zenith is now releasing a new Defy Skyline Boutique Edition, this one with subtle touches of gold that make the watch even better.
Just like the previous models, this new skeletonized Defy comes in an angular-shaped 41 mm case with a 12-sided, faceted bezel inspired by the Defy models from past times and a screw-down crown. The colorway, as mentioned, is similar to the previous model with silver-grey finishes, but it also has a slightly darker chapter ring and applied gold-plated baton hour markers filled with Super-LumiNova, and matching hour and minute hands, only now there’s less dial and more movement.
Inside the watch, visible through the dial, is the El Primero 3620 SK, with the 3620 as a base, reworked, featuring the 1/10th of a second sub-dial at 6 o’clock, right on top of the watch’s 5Hz escapement, and it comes without the date indication. It has a stop-second feature for accurate time setting and a power reserve of 55 hours. The watch comes on either a steel bracelet or a rubber strap with a starry sky pattern.
The watch costs CHF 10,900, which, all things considering, looks like a very fair price.
4/
Nomos Teams Up With Wempe For An Icy Blue Dialed Tangente For Hot Summer Days
There seem to be two trends this summer in watches. One is something that Zodiac is embracing fully - going all out on color; while the other is one specific color that we have now seen on several watches - ice blue, a color that seems to be the color of the summer. Nomos has teamed up with famous retailer Wempe to create a special edition Tangente Neomatik Update 41 for Wempe Signature Collection in this exact color.
It’s still a Tangente Neomatik. This means a 41mm stainless steel case that’s only 7.9mm thick with straight and angled lugs. The narrow bezel that holds the sapphire crystal serves as a visual trick to make the watch look much larger than it is. The main difference comes from the dial and it’s ice-blue dial, whose light tones are offset by blued hands and black indices and numerals. The darker blue colour is also found on the date complication, which shows each date through cutout sections in between the date digits on the outer rim of the dial.
The reason for the date being displayed in this unique fashion is the Calibre DUW 6101 inside the watch. To keep it as thin as possible and not have to stack the date disc on the movement, Nomos moved the date disc outside of the outer edge of the movement. The date can also be adjusted in both directions through the crown, while the movement itself stores 42 hours of power reserve. The watch comes on a very nice blue-black textile strap with a stainless steel pin buckle
This is a limited edition of 200 pieces, all of which are exclusively sold through Wempe’s showrooms for a price of EUR 3,400.

The New Credor Goldfeather Is An Uncommon, Pricey And Gorgeous Option For A Dress Watch That Will Be Hard To Get
From 1960 to 1969, Grand Seiko was Seiko’s top brand, both in quality and price. However, with the advent of quartz watches, Grand Seiko was dethroned as the most expensive watches. In 1974, Seiko separated their most high-end quartz watches into a line called Crêts d’Or, which literally means Golden Crests, but «Crêts» is a french word that applies more specifically to the summits of the Jura Mountains, a chain of mountains spreading between France and Switzerland, known to be the birthplace of watchmaking.
After alternating the name between Crêts d’Or and Credor a few times, Seiko finally settled on Credor (Credor and Crêts d’or have the exact same pronunciation in French) in 1978 but it still was just a separate line of watches within Seiko’s catalog and was branded with a simple SEIKO logo below the 12 o’clock position. In 1978, Credor became its own brand, with the dial that said Credor Seiko. Since then Grand Seiko and Credor have been the pinnacle of Seiko watchmaking.
It’s not often that you get to se a Credor watch, and they are even more rare outside of Japan. However, the folks over at Fratello have dug up a new, very interesting, release from Credor - the new Credor Goldfeather. The Gold Feather, as Seiko spelled it at launch, is a watch from 1960 which focused on absolute thinness. With the hand-wound caliber 60M it was just 2.95mm thick and was all the more impressive because it had a central seconds hand.
The reissue, named the Credor Goldfeather is thin, but not that thin. The 18k gold case measures 37.1mm wide and 7.7 thick. The watches are powered by the hand-winding 6890 caliber. The 6890 is just 1.98mm thick, and in this watch, the movement is attached directly to the case to keep the thickness to a minimum. However, the new Credor does not have a seconds hand.
The Credor Goldfeather will come in two variants. The first model, reference GBBY982, is in 18K yellow gold limited edition of just 30 pieces. The second model, reference GBBY980, is in 18K rose gold and will be a regular-production piece. The limited yellow gold model has a sunburst brushed dial with engraved hour indices, minute track, and Credor name. On the rose gold variant, Credor chose to use applied indices and a painted logo.
Reference GBBY982 will be released on July 8th in Japan as a pre-sale with availability in April 2024 at the Credor shop. Pricing is not for the faint of heart at approximately €22,700. For the reference GBBY980 pre-orders start on August 11th in Japan and also available in April 2024 in the Credor shop. Pricing is slightly less at roughly €22,000.

Watch Worthy - A look at an offbeat, less known watch you might actually like

The Stella Breslin revives the linen dial for the here and now
All of those features would be nothing if it didn’t have a good base, and the Stella Breslin’s linen dial is breathtaking. Linen dials are a little bit of a lost art in watchmaking, although there’s nothing in theory which makes them more difficult than any other highly textured pattern. The Classic Blue is richer than the Felix’s Dress Blue, and is paired with crisp white lume instead of the cream colour. There’s a Silver dial which almost looks made of polished meteorite, and would be best suited to more formal situations. The most fun option however is the Raspberry dial, hovering somewhere between a hot pink and a crimson red. It’s a truly great colour that you don’t see very often in other watches which boast pink or red dials, making it a unique display of personality.

2023.06.06 14:02 Stands-in-Shallow [Magic Redone Build] Nyrrtha Champion of Meridia

Since I'm a bit bored with my other char (Argonian Necromancer who's building his army of the dead right now), I think I'll just make a build that's the complete antithesis of that build. A priestess of Meridia, Daedric Prince of Light, Life and Infinite Energy.
Lore:
Nyrrtha was a Breton living in Wayrest. She was a talented mage who seemed to have particular affinity for magic of the light. She started her study in the local magic institution and found out about the Ayleid theorem on light element and the worship of Meridia. Nyrrtha tinkered with her 'sun' magic with Ayleid theorem and changing it to light magic.
Soon, she heard the whisper of the Daedric Prince of Light - Meridia - beckoning her to Solitude in Skyrim. She started communing with Meridia herself who revealed to her the true path of light. So Nyrrtha left the temple of the divines and pledged herself as a worshipper of Meridia. Although she never intended to sacrifice her free will to her and made a deal with Meridia that was a binding to ensure her freedom in exchange for her service and loyalty as a champion. Not long after that, she finally arrived at the desolate temple of Meridia on mount Kilkreath. Her journey begins here.
Skills:
Restoration: Light magic, obviously :) Although Meridia's light element could easily be categorized as Destruction spell, in the 4th era, the art of light is considered a part of Restoration school.
Alteration: Alteration is the very understanding of magic itself, since Nyrrtha is a master mage, she needs Alteration.
Illusion: She can use light not just to cause harm but also to manipulate perception as well. She can make herself and her allies invisible, blend herself into the background in case she needs to be stealthy. However, this is more like quirky part of the build. Not required at all, invest if you want to RP more into light manipulation.
Secondary Skills (i.e., 1 point wonders)
Though she is the Champion of Meridia, she wouldn't mind getting her hands dirty and do some shady business once in a while. So she'll have perks in stealth as well. (gameplay reason: I won't be locked out of 2 best questlines in Skyrim on any build - DB and Thieves Guild, especially with at your own pace enhancing everything. College of Winterhold sucks, Companion is worse).
Gameplay:
Play like your usual destruction mage. Sun spells in Noxcrab's Magic Redone function like Fire spells from Destruction School. So blast everyone to the moon with the light of Meridia! If you decide to invest in Illusion, remember to cast Veil of Shadows for that juicy buffs and another layer of protection.
Have fun!
