TLDR at end I am at the start of a campaign, getting towards what I would consider to be the prologue of of my story. It's at this point that I want include a rp encounter that will be a microcosm of the end of my campaign to help with theme set up. Essentially, where I will be leading/hoping my players get to is an end decision about their patron that they will be taking jobs from. The setting is a typical medieval kingdom with divisions between peasants and nobles. As they progress with this patron they will be discovering that their patron is fighting for the removal of the class system and creating a kingdom where everyone is on equal footing. Whether they are low born or noble, they have access to the same resources. Their patrons view is that borders divisions is the active system that prevents harmony (this is tied to a religious belief and tied to the creation myth of the land). Their goal is to remove those borders in order to promote cooperation, unity, and harmony to those throughout the land. At the end, once they take over control, the twist is going to be revealed that their plan is to militarize their kingdom, and start attacking and fighting the other kingdoms. Their internal motivation is that either their army will win, thus removing all borders to get to their view of unity, or all of the other kingdoms will have to unit to defeat them, creating the unity by being the large enough threat to unit everyone else against.
In my mind, the final conflict is the decision for the players to keep the current status quo and not agree with and have to fight against their patron. Or go along with their patron's plans and ideals for the long haul, even if it means causing much more suffering in the short term to get there.
What I'm wanting to do is set up this theme earlier, by putting my players in an rp scenario, but at a much smaller scale. The idea that I have currently is they come across a town that is experiencing hardship and famine. The town leadership is at a crossroads of what to do and needs the party to be the tie breaker. Do they open up resources to everyone at an equal rate, angering the nobles that live there and expect proper treatment, or keep the rations as they currently are, angering the peasants and having to placate them so they don't revolt. If the party chooses to open up the store houses, the nobles will leave, taking all of their disposable resources that was providing some incentive for trade that was allowing for food stocks to be replenished at the current rate, which will cause food to run out significantly faster, but will allow for peasants to work the land with enough energy once the hopeful rains come. If they choose to keep it as is, nobles will stay, peasants will be angry, but everyone will survive. Party is low enough that they don't have the ability to change the weather for the town to make it prosper.
It's a little weaker than I would like currently, which is why I'm reaching out to the hive mind to see if you can strengthen the idea.

TL'DR: Bad guy gonna Code Geass the party at the end of the campaign. Looking for an encounter that sets up that theme at the start of the campaign while players are low level.

I’m 25k since last year, and will hit 35k this year fairly easily. My landlord just asked if I’d mind changing from cheques to e-deposit because its simpler for him. Seems like using chexy at a 1.75% fee to get points is a no brainer. But I feel like I might be missing a better way to use this.
My Amex APR will generate an extra 6k SQM and 40k points annually from rent/chexy, but the limiting factor in making this more meaningful to potential 50k status will be SQD (as always).
I don’t have trouble hitting spending reqs on the Amex APR, and just signed up for a Amex bonvoy with easy to hit reqs. I don’t know if starting yet another card so I can use the rent payments for spending thresholds on a bigger welcome bonus is a good idea. But would love a second opinion.

Foster feels very similar to Anna McMahon (Blacklister #60) in multiple ways:
1- Is a long haired Caucasian lady,
2- Has aligned herself with a US politician (in Anna's case, it was Diaz; in Foster's case, it's now Hudson)
3- Is incredibly sneaky/corrupt in her day-to-day dealings with others
4- And is smart/competent/ruthless enough to act as a rival of Red, while also embodying the "behind every great man there's a great woman" archetype.

I wonder if Hudson and Foster's subplot (and newfound alliance) is meant to somehow foreshadow/culminate into a rematch between (freed from prison) Diaz and Red?

Hi guys. This is a stupidly long post. If not allowed please delete. I did read the rules, and I definitely do not think I have broken any, but as a sa victim and someone who's been cyberbullied please take this down if it could trigger someone. I never make posts like this anywhere, and I know I'll immediately feel anxious, but Ive been suggested I might find answers in this community.
So, I'm here because.... I don't understand myself. And I don't understand if I'm ace, or if I'm just really very strange, like so many think I am.
Technically I identify as female. I do feel repulsed however, by the constant societal pressures, and think they're stupid. I'm a cis woman, if it matters, and I do go by she/her, despite disliking gender roles and expectations of gender beauty/qualificarions for societal feminity and masculinity.
I technically am not repulsed by sexual things...... In the bounds of my relationship. But outside the strict bounds of anything being between my partner and I.... I won't date or marry someone who watches porn, who wants to watch a lot of sexual content, or who wants to play a lot of games with skimpy clothing, because I'm against these things, and these things strongly turn me off to any potential partner and cause me to distance. I just strongly dislike all of that. I recently refused to go back to a game, because I logged in and the majority of people standing around had bra style tops on or just general very revealing attire on, and several years ago that wasn't the case for that game. Idc if my partner has female friends, he has one that has grown distant but that used to be super close. (She had another baby and we just don't hear from her much since,) I love other women, I just do not want to see their bodies as the human body is precious and super private to me, and again, dating or marriage to someone who doesn't respect or share these things is not possible because I feel repulsed by them. Not jealous, not clingy, just the ick. It can cause me to feel betrayed, as I always discuss these things with potential partners, and we deeply discuss compatibility and boundaries, as well as values before actually dating. I start enjoying their company less the more they participate in those things, so it just doesnt work if they don't share similar values and boundaries, and isn't fair to either of us not to discuss deeply beforehand.. I have a partner who largely feels the same as I do, but he previously put up with that kind of content being common and now he doesn't outside of some things he's slightly more comfortable with than I am. But we found a happy spot.
However, despite all of that, between my partner and myself, I am a sexual person. Within my home I'll gladly wear those things for my partner and for myself... It can be fun even. Again I hate seeing that stuff out and about and I hate the idea of wearing it out and about, outside my relationship it's repulsive to me. I respect everyone's right to wear what they will, I'm not out here trying to change everyone else or their minds, and I'm a grown individual capable of leaving situations, places, or looking away, etc. I'm not trying to control anyone but me myself and I, but I still feel how I feel about it, and the feeling is strong. Within the confines of my relationship I am very happy to explore things with him. But that's it. I don't know why I can't stop feeling this way, or only accepting things between my partner and I, but I can't. I don't even look at other guys and think sexual thoughts, the most that comes to mind is a compliment of their hair or their eyes or thinking they look nice. But nothing sexual. I feel just as repulsed at the naked male body as I do naked or scantily clad female body. Education purposed stuff doesn't bother me, art is dependent, I'm for better education, and I'm also not against public breast feeding.
My question is, does anyone.... Else feel like this? I don't even like playing games where there's a lot of outfits that show off most of the body. But I do enjoy video games. It's very hard to find games that are safe. I've always felt like this, but through traumatic events now there is trauma behind seeing a lot of this stuff too, so whereas I used to begrudgingly tolerate it to a degree, I just don't want to expose myself to it and the people who say they need that stuff in everything, which is something I've heard and had said to me a lot.
I guess I'm trying to find out where I fit into the world. A lot of the people who I've met who say they understand or feel the same visually make it obvious they do not. And it gets very lonely. Franky, this is super dramatic, but I feel like I'm pretty much alone in the world, and I'm not sure if I fit in. I know that's just an emotional response, but sometimes it feels real. I've had people tell me I'm.... Well some words, for not wanting to enter strip clubs, not wanting to enter other clubs, not wanting to play games with lots of bra style tops, etc.... And the comments I see others get have honestly stuck with me as well. If my bf started doing those things, wed talk, get therapy to see what we could do, but if we couldn't compromise and both be happy we'd break up so we could both find better matches... We both agree on this, it's his view as well as mine. I've been told even this idea is abusive by some.
Does anyone else feel like this? Am I normal... Somewhere? Is it possible to find friends to do things with that are like minded? Am I actually as extreme as some people say? Is my unwillingness to date someone I know I won't be happy with really truly that horrible?

I have been reading about Home World transfer and wondering when you are transferring, does all your characters change to new Home World or do you have to select only 1 character? And IF only one is transferred what happens to account shared items etc. banks / material storage? Or is the whole "gang" meaning all your X amount of characters moved to new Home World?
Also I can find only one "nonbeneficial"; you cannot earn pips from WvW until next reset. - Is this one the only negative you are getting from transferring?
And the Home World change in my case would be only for to play WvW with a friend.

Got a full fibre gigababit connection a few weeks back. All was fine and dandy until it just stopped working a week ago.
Since then I have been in a kafka-esque situation with support. The people on the phone can’t do anything but talk you through a basic reset (which doesn’t work) and then refer it to a second line team.
Then when I phone back (they obviously never bother to update me) they say “oh the second line team say everything looks fine to them, they closed the case”. But my third party router is reporting 100% packet loss.
I know Starlink support gets some stick, but this is truly some next level awfulness.
Fortunately I held on to Starlink as the fibre company (Gigaclear in the UK) offered a good introductory deal.
Now I’m thinking that even if/when they sort this issue, I might can them as I can’t trust them to resolve issues quickly.

I am using latest macos Ventura and Logic Pro X Sometimes when I open an External Midi in Logic Pro X, some tracks would not reproduce the sound. I have a case right now where there are 9 tracks and only 2 of them have issues. Then I would switch the instrument for the track, or click on Revert button, and the sound would come out, and then stop again as soon as a loop replay start or as soon as I manually move the playhead.
Hope someone knows what is causing this problem. I would say it is some kind of automation or synchronization. I feel I have tried everything I could think of.

Opened the pack, I think it was Jumbo Gold Players pack, this morning around 5AM Central European time. Ligue 1 TOTS is still live so I was unpleasantly surprised to see Alexis, common gold version.

Im planning to build my first PC but am doubtfull about the CPU cooler height in my case. Already have a prebuilt PC which i wanna upgrade the CPU and GPU.
Case is the sharkoon skiller SGC1 which has a height of 165mm. And wanna get a cooler which is 163mm.. this is a 2mm diffence. not a lot. Would this give any issue or should i go for a shirter cooler?

Hey folks. Hope your Friday is treating you well. As the title suggests I am looking to set my friend up with a basic PC. For a little context, she has never owned a computer and has a very limited budget (Centrelink.) She has disabilities and can really only work from home, and as such she has found herself needing a computer, though this is just one of a few reasons. She'd also like to play some basic games such as the Sims and Minecraft. She doesn't really know where to start, and since I have managed to scrounge and build a PC for myself on a similarly limited budget I offered to help her out. However, I mostly did this through friends and those options aren't available to me any more. So, essentially I'm looking for advice on where to get computer parts and such for as cheap as possible. A new PC is out of the question, so I've been surfing through Facebook marketplace and such to find something. I've managed to get some basic pieces such as keyboard, mouse, PC case, and hard drive, but I've found most of the gear I've received to be a bit unreliable. Any suggestions on where to get pieces/ how much we would need to save up etc would be very much appreciated.
TL;DR: Looking to build a PC on the cheap for a friend and wanting some/any advice.

The HDR implementation only makes use of the "Limited" RGB (16-235) even though it is inside of a "Full" RGB (0-255) container, which causes the raised blacks and generally hazy look. I had the same issue with Miles Morales recently.
Workaround: If you are playing on a TV like LG CX, you can change the setting on your TV to accept the signal as "Limited" which restores the blacks, however most monitors won't have this setting so it is probably better to stick to SDR for now in that case.

Just expressing because I need to vent what the Universe has dumped. So I JUST went through a heart wrenching traumatic sitch where one really old rescued cat had to have surgery to remove an eye and deal with a subsequent respiratory infection to boot. She made it through SO well that her now spunky old ass did a wappy paw with another rescued cat at breakfast and scratched that cat's eye! F me Freddy! It's not looking good, and now I have to find a way to get HER to an extra vet visit for her EYE! Geeze Louise! Is the Universe trying to tell me something, other than that I have too many rescued cats (four)!?! What's with all of the eye issues!?? Oh, and our car died, like died. Not the battery, checked this and looked at that to the point where my husband has been looking at buying a new (used) vehicle. I mean, we HAVE to have a vehicle to even get the cat to the vet! Money sucks! It's been a week since the scratch happened, and the eye doesn't look better. MAYBE it's healing... But probably not. It's starting to look ( ha ha pun but not) like we're going to have our Uber driver clear some time for a vet trip. It would only cost $16 bucks for an Uber, but getting the drivers schedule matched with the vets schedule will be tricky! We live in a place that calls itself a city, but really is just a small town, lol. The Ubers are so few that we know them by name. 😁 That's a benefit that will hopefully play into our court. But we're still playing money catch-up after the first cat eye issue, so finances are, well, nothing! The pet credit service is nil. So for the next several days at least we're on a wait and see (bad pun again) status. This is hard on us financially, and it SUCKS for our poor little black bean cat to have to wait, but I don't regret letting her walk into my home at all. As bad as my rescue attempt is at this point, she IS better off here. She was wild, but felt safe coming to us and our other pets... They accepted her totally! To me, because we two have a weird bond. She was dumped here by a well meaning organization, but she was never capable of being feral. Just being a black cat put odds against her. I swear that I could FEEL when this cat was near before she came inside! During a REALLY hard Winter this cat ran inside my home for shelter, but in truth I felt a bond and concern for her long before that. Weird AF! So, I've GOT to get this eye issue taken care of! I just don't know how I'm going to be able to do it right now. SMH. To anyone wanting, willing, to take in a rescue pet I HIGHLY recommend the credit insurance programs! Life beyond a yearly checkup can unexpectedly F you up! 😆 I'm learning the lesson of be proactive or be F'ed!

This will be relatively short rant (Please share your stories too!) about what the title says.
I was using an ATM at a Rec store a few days ago. It was my dogs first time going there with me (had her since February) and she was good while i used the ATM. I had over the ear headphones on but had 1 side off since i wasn’t fully aware of my surroundings at the time. Then, out of the corner of my eye, i see a man approach, bend down, and tried to pet my dog. I pulled her away and i told him “hey you can’t pet my dog without asking first” and he said “oh, I’m so sorry, it’s just that, you had your headphones on”.
So, you’re telling me, when you are unable to ask for permission, you do it anyways? What logic is that? Keep in mind this man is in his 60’s.
I didn’t fight him on it i just told him it’s fine and i continued on what i was doing. But since then it’s just really bothered me how entitled (if that’s the right word) that man was. He didn’t mean any harm but what IF my dog didn’t like people and gave that old man a chomp on the hand?
I’m glad the worst case scenario didn’t happen and i wish there were more people who ask to pet my dog, and if you think you can’t ask me, then don’t do it (not like anyone in this sub needs to hear that).

Hi, so long story short, I need to know if there are MMF books out there where there is no pairings from the beginning and they happen to meet and get to know each other throughout the whole story.
Or if there are books where the base couple (I'm not sure if it's clear to understand) is a hetero one and then the 2nd MMC joins them (in whatever plot there is)
Also i would appreciate it if all the partners get the same amount of attention from each other, Cause from what I've read so far, In most cases it mainly is all about "Her" with some bonus MM actions sprinkled here and there (Not that it's bad and I'm not trying to be mean but when I'm reading poly books i need them to have equality between them all) , or the focus is on 1 of the straight pairs and the other man feels more like a third wheel with benefits. Kinda makes me feel like some authors are fetishizing MLM relationships as an aesthetic to sell more cause idk, it's more appealing? (Idk it's not a relevant topic rn ig)
P.S 1: I know i said it BUT I REALLY NEED them all to get fair amount attention and affection from each othe or as close as it gets to the fair amount.
