I moved to my current city during covid which didn’t help with making new friends at all so any kind of friendship would be great! I’m always curious to learn what it’s like on the other side of the world and that’s why I travel a lot. And if we click I don’t mind we get more intimate, but I’ll leave the details to when the right time comes;) There’s always this idea in my mind that I want to move somewhere else one day especially Europe so if we’re really lucky to find us really compatible with each other and got something serious going on I think the distance wouldn’t be a problem.
A little bit about me: - 5’6”, average/slim body shape, moved to the US a couple years ago and now living in the west coast - Love music and can play a few instruments (was doing it professionally a long time ago). Mostly listening to hip pop/r&b/pop and also a lot more - More of a homebody than a outdoor person so a nice lazy weekend would be like binging shows on Netflix with hot chocolate, preferably with cuddles if available;) - I also play video games casually, for single player I enjoy a lot of building/simulation games like Stardew or Rimworld, but also play a lot on Switch and Nintendo games especially multiplayer games. Big Zelda fan! Wouldn’t say I’m a big gamer as I only started a few years ago but definitely happy to explore more - That doesn’t mean I don’t like going out tho, I really enjoy going on a short hike or having a walk on the beach. I’m not a big sports person and not so great at it, but I do keep a light regular schedule to stay healthy. - I travel quite a bit, have been to 10+ countries and would love to do more! - Big tea drinker, coffee lover, and definitely a foodie. Never learn how to properly cook tho so if you do you already caught my attention - Dogs >>>>>> cats (but both cute I agree), generally love animals. I think that to be cured by the senses means to write. To let your mind loose and just write like there is no tomorrow. I want to do that with someone. I want to write to them like I'm the last person on the planet. To bury myself in their flowery words. To see their soul beat within each word they write. To feel the brightness, the life, the meaning of their messages.
Sometimes I feel like a flower without the sun, longing to belong to something or someone. If I were a flower I'd be a blue flower, because it symbolizes the transcendental striving for the infinite. That's what I live for. I am someone who dreams too much, thinks too much, reads too much. I often go overboard with my desire to do something. I give things my all. I want to be all used up when I die. I want to go out with a bang, not a whimper.
It would be cool if I could meet someone close, someone who shares my wavelength, a kindred soul. I’m from the most expensive city in the US and work in a menial job, yet I look up from the ground to the sky in hopes of finding something worthwhile.
I often feel like I don't belong anywhere, because I'm multiracial and thus culturally rootless. I do the balancing act on the tightrope of culture as I exist within the liminal limbo. Hi, first post here so forgive me if I break any rules or don't explain things in enough detail. Feel free to ask any questions.

In 2013, I had a seizure which resulted in me breaking 3 of my top front teeth. Since then I have crowned 6 of my top front teeth. In 2020, I started having terrible jaw pain. I went to a dentist that my Brother-in-Law recommended. The dentist made me a special retainer for my jaw which helped immensely. During that initial appointment, I mentioned that I didn't like how my current crowns looked. He looked at them and took measurements and found that they were actually wearing down my real bottom teeth. He said they were too big and doing damage. You could actually see the curves the crowns were creating in my bottom teeth. (Can provide pictures if needed). So the dentist recommended I replace the crowns after fixing my jaw pain. When it came time to start replacing the crowns, my dad suggested getting a 2nd opinion. We went to another dentist who agreed that they were too big and also noticed the damage they were causing my bottom teeth. Both dentists said that the best way to replace crowns is by starting with temporary crowns which can be adjusted and shaped to be both functional and ascetically pleasing. They both said the process of wearing the temporaries would take about a year. During that year the crowns would probably pop off and this meant they weren't seated well and needed to be adjusted, this would be a good thing as we could adjust them to make sure they were placed correctly. They also said we would make sure I wouldn't have jaw pain because the crowns would be the right size, we would also make sure the crowns were the right size as to not do any more damage to my bottom teeth. All of this made sense to us so we proceeded with the process.
During that year, the crowns popped off all the time. I would have to make special trips to get them put back on, but I was assured it was all part of the process. We adjusted the crowns to make sure I liked the shape and size. We also adjusted them to make sure my jaw felt fine and that they weren't doing damage to my bottom teeth. After a year of doing this, it was finally time to get the permanent, porcelain crowns. I was told they would look exactly like the temporaries to be sure everything was correct.
When the day finally came to put the permanent crowns in my mouth, they weren't even close to the look and size of the temporaries. They were bigger than the ones I had in my mouth when he said they were too big. I said something after they were put in, and he said no they were't much bigger and I would get used to them. The lab person who made the crowns was also in the room and she said these were objectively better looking. At this point, I was in significant pain and tired and I just let it go. I trust that my dentist would not steer me wrong.
After leaving the appointment and the numbness wearing off, I realized that the new crowns were so big that I had a lisp and I was hitting my bottom teeth when I talked. I was devastated. I cried and cried.
I went back to the dentist to ask why they were completely different and he said the lab creator "took a lot of artistic liberty." He told me I should've spoke up then so we could've done something about it. I told him that I did, but both him and the lab person told me they were fine. Thankfully, my partner was there to defend me and said I did speak up and was silenced. I told the dentist how devastated and in shock I was about this situation. He shortened them with a grinding tool, but it wasn't the same look as the temporaries at all. As I complained, his assistant told me that she tells her children not to complain over something that can be fixed. I was 25 years old (26 now) and not a child to be spoken down to like this. I haven't been back to that dentist since that last appointment. They did call once to ask how I was liking the crowns, and I just told them I didn't know. During this time, I was going through really traumatic personal events on top or this dental disaster. I was too defeated to demand correction as I literally could not believe something like this had happened.
This year long process was extremely painful. Lots of shots as I don't numb well due to my seizure medicine, and various other things that caused pain. Also, we paid around $11,000 for the new crowns.
Since then (May 2022 ish), I have been seeing the other dentist (that gave the second opinion). He doesn't understand how the dentist 1 allowed something like this to happen. He feels terrible for me. I am again in the process of trying to fix my jaw pain as these new crown do not fit properly. This is costing an extra $600. Dentist 2 said the new crowns are way too big for my mouth/face, and do not look good (I wholeheartedly agree). When I mentioned shortening them, he said he can only do so much because porcealin can easily crack. Also, when dentist 1 shortened them after I complained, he did not take any measurements, and now my front two teeth do not touch my bottom teeth when I bite down. Dentist 2 said that we may not be able to shorten them for that reason alone.
I am devastated. What can I do? The thought of started this process over again makes me sob, but I fear I am again doing damage to my bottom teeth and that my jaw pain won't be able to go away as these aren't the correct size.
Do I have a legal case here? Should I sue or just try to get a refund? The emotional toll this has taken on me in the past year is immeasurable. Also, the physical toll of the reignited jaw pain and the potential continued damage to my bottom teeth.

We all have fought these night creatures in our travels when we are least expecting it. When the night arrives in Lands Between, they appear in the sky out of thin air. We have bad experience with them especially the one in Consecrated Snowfields. Although Holy damage is great against them, they are still a pain to fight against. However I find these creatures quite fascinating in terms of lore.
First things first, most of you guys would have noticed, but DeathBirds and DeathRiteBirds look very similar to a real life bird who have a unique function in our Food Chain. Thats Right- Vultures. The bald head looking like a skull, the large sing span. Vultures are natural scavengers who consumes the dead creatures and prevent them accumulating in the environment.
Now these are some of the existing lore associated with them.
Deathbirds
The Deathbirds are graveyard fire keepers; it is said they rake out the ashen remains of the dead from their kilns.
Death Rite Birds
In the time when there was no Erdtree, death was burned in ghostflame. Deathbirds were the keepers of that fire. The birds are graveyard fire keepers; it is said they rake out the ashen remains of the dead from their kilns.
Now the items dropped by these creatures.
Sacrificial Axe- Hatchet used in ancient sacrificial rite. A Deathbird is depicted as a malevolent deity. The power of the rite yet lingers. A small amount of FP is restored upon slaying a foe.
Red-Feathered Branchsword -A talisman adorned with red feathers, once used in ancient death rituals. Raises attack power when HP is low. The heart sings when one draws close to death, and a glorious end awaits those who cling so tenaciously to life.
Blue-Feathered Branchsword-A talisman adorned with blue feathers, once used in ancient death rituals. Raises defense when HP is low. The heart sings when one draws close to death, and thus does one cling so tenaciously to life - to render up a death worth offering.
Twinbird Kite Shield-Shield featuring a vividly painted twinbird.The twinbird is said to be the envoy of an outer god, and mother of the Deathbirds. At dwindling levels of HP, this shield slightly boosts both attack and defense.
Explosive Ghostflame -Sorcery of the servants of Death. Strike the ground with the staff, triggering an explosion of ghostflame that burns the surrounding area. In the time when there was no Erdtree, death was burned in ghostflame. Deathbirds were the keepers of that fire.
Death Ritual Spear -Ritual spear used by priests of old who were permitted to come among the Deathbirds. The priests became guardians of the birds through the rite of Death, which also serves as an oath sworn to their distant resurrection.
Death's Poker-Barbed rod carried by Deathbirds. The birds are graveyard fire keepers; it is said they rake out the ashen remains of the dead from their kilns.
Ancient Death Rancor- Sorcery of the servants of Death. Summons a horde of vengeful spirits that chase down foes. Charging enhances potency. They are cinders of the ancient death hex, raked from the fires of ghostflame by Deathbirds.
Now some other items related to ghostflame and death.
Helphen's Steeple-Greatsword patterned after the black steeple of the Helphen, the lampwood which guides the dead of the spirit world. The lamplight is similar to grace in appearance, only it is said that it can only be seen by those who met their death in battle.
And if there are any other item, please let me know as well.
Now on to the interesting bits.
Have you guys observed, that when the deathbirds use their screech attack, they inflict deathblight damage. Why? Why can these guys inflict death blight? That is my biggest confusion.
It is a popular theory that Death Blight arrived because of the incomplete death of Godwyn in which his soul was destroyed but his body was not, resulting in the centipede mark of death corrupting Godwyn's body and this corruption spreading through Erdtree roots and reaching the surface. Deathblight is inflicted by Basilisks, Deathblight crabs and Wormfaces and these creatures were probably mutated after coming into contact with these tree roots mentioned before. But if you ever use a Grave Scythe, one wielded by the skeleton mages,when you activate the wepaon, a little bit of deathblight status buildup happens.
This Grave scythe is also said to be wielded by the aged grave keepers who tend the forgotten graveyards throughout the Lands Between. This weapon is said to have served as a charm against evil spirits in times of old.
So if Deathblight came after Godwyn's death, then why can Death Birds, which actually existed long before Erdtree can inflict these status?
This causes me to speculate certain observations, which I would like to mention.

1. Prior to Erdtree, death as an principle of the world, was strictly maintained by Deathbirds. These Deathbirds actually transported the souls of the dead, especially those who fell in battles, to somewhere presumed to be the spirit world, or Land of the Dead.
2. Destined Death didn't originally even belong to Gloam Eyed Queen. It was perhaps being possessed by the Twinbird, envoy of an outer God and Ghostflame was the one possessing the power of destined death long before that power came in possession of Gloam Eyed Queen.
3. Now the purpose as mentioned of Destined Death is to bring true death, even to a God. I am speculating that Destined Death original purpose was to creamate a body and send a soul to the Spirit World or the Land of the Dead.
4. The Land of the Dead or the Spirit World is probably the domain of the Deathbirds and their probable mother, the TwinBird. It is said (according to Helphen Steeple description) that the lampwood which became visible to the dead who fell in battle was similar to grace in appearance. Grace, which is something provided by the Greater Will. Perhaps those who fell in battle, were guided towards these lampwood where their body was properly burnt by the ghostflame wielded Deathbirds in the kilns. Then their souls were sent to the Spirit World. The Deathbirds then raked the kilns for the ashes of these dead, which they kept as cinders of ancient Death Hex, the Ancient Death Rancor.
5. These Skeleton mages often tend the forgotten graveyards. We know that people in Lands Between often are given Erdtree Burial. Then what are these abandoned graveyards for? I think these graveyards were used for burial before Elden Beast came to the Lands Between.
6. The Land of the Dead or the Spirit World is the place where I think Death Blight exists naturally so as to prevent the living to venture directly since it grants instantaneous death. Death Blight probably doesn't affect the spirits. That is the reason why the Deathbirds, can naturally use the Death Blight, since it is something that is present within their body, courtesy of living in Spirit World.
7. The reason why the Deathbirds appear out of thin air. The Spirit World and the Lands between exist in same place but different dimensions and the barrier between these two places thins during the night, which allows the Deathbird to enter the world of living. We can see during the boss battle that they just pop out of thin air in the sky . The reason the Deathbirds attack us is because we are warriors and if we fall in battle, the deathbirds can carry us to the spirit world. SInce we are also the only ones who can see grace and lampwood is very similar to grace in appearance, the Deathbirds perhaps take this as a sign that we are warriors worthy of being taken to the Sprit World.
8. Now the biggest speculation. The reason why Godwyn's body is spreading deathblight. I don't know if you guys have ever met the Finger Reader in Deeproot Depths, but she says something interesting. " Ohh... Oh, Lord Godwyn... Such cruelty, such humiliation... My poor, sweet lordling should have died a true death. As the first of the demigods to die. As a martyr to Destined Death. But why must it yet bring such disgrace? A scion of the golden bough, sentenced to live in Death.. " This suggests that Godwyn was supposed to be a martyr of Destined Death. If Destined Death would have been properly applied, then Godwyn's body would have been properly cremated and his soul would have gone to Spirit World, which hasn't happened in Eons, since Destined Death was removed from Ghostflame and Deathbirds lost the right to send people to Spirit World thanks to Greater Will. But since his soul was only affected, what happened was Godwyn's soul was sent to the spirit world, but his body, which hasn't been cremated properly, is stuck between the Sprit World and the Erdtree, this body is slowly consuming the Death Blight from the Spirit World and then spreading in lands Between through the roots of Erdtree. What also happened was that Godwyn's body stuck between two worlds also brought in the other dead bodies that weren't properly cremated from the spirit world to Lands Between, resulting in Those who live in death.

So in conclusion, I confer that Death Blight existed in Spirit World, which allowed the Death Birds to inflict it naturally. However, Godwyn's body that is stuck between two worlds, brought in this Death Blight from the Spirit World to Lands Between.

Word up Archons.
I recently popped Arch onto my crappy little chromebook, and was so impressed I've thrown it onto my daily laptop as well. It's an Asus VivoBook X513EAN.
I'm running linux-zen and GRUB, with EFI, 2Gb SWAP and btrfs on the main partition.
Here are some thoughts;

• Booting
  Extremely fast, almost comically so. The GRUB timeout is the longest stage - with it disabled I can get to the TTY in <10 seconds from powering on. This is an NVME machine and Win11 was certainly no slouch, but now it's so very quick it almost makes me laugh.
  
• Performance
  This was my main motivation for switching OS after seeing that Chromebook spring back to life. Win 11 just comes with so, so much junk. Turning the laptop on and leaving it idle, it'd sit there between 10-15% CPU usage chugging away doing nothing (besides collecting personal data I suppose). Ask it to do something (like stream youtube) and suddenly you're up in the 50-60% range, it's getting warm and it's spinning its fans.
  Win 11 also sat between 3-5Gb ram at idle. Not a problem really, but I just find that sort of thing upsetting!
  Now it idles at 0-1% CPU and <1Gb ram, as it should. It runs cool and barely runs the fan.
  This has easily DOUBLED the battery life, maybe more. Now I don't have to worry about keeping the charger handy constantly.
  
• UX
  A bit trickier to say as there are so many choices for Arch. I've gone DE/DM free this time, logging in via tty and using i3wm, and I'm probably not going to go back to a pure GUI now I've seen such riches.
  It's just lovely. There are no frills at all - it looks good, is completely customisable and super responsive. I miss absolutely nothing from Windows 11, and there's plenty I'm very happy to get rid of such as the ridiculous right-click and taskbar changes.
  Little things too, such as changing the touchpad scroll sensitivity or disabling it while typing - while I'm sure these options are available in Win 11, they were so much easier to find and adjust here on Linux (at least for me).
  
• Devices
  Everything works! Pipewire/Pulse handles the audio, bluez the bluetooth and networkmanager handles wifi. The keyboard backllight is MOBO driven on this laptop, but getting the brightness sofkeys to work required adding "pcie_aspm=force acpi_osi=" to the GRUB kernel parameters. The volume softkeys are handled by i3.
  I had screen tearing initially but installing xf86-video-intel fixed that right up.
  

Some QoL improvements to improve useablilty

• Set up Ctrl+Alt+s to lock the screen via i3 and xscreensaver -lock
• Set up an i3 nagbar to appear when battery <20%.
• Set up a service to limit battery charge to a set percentage (70%) to preserve battery health
• Set up a notification via udev and dunstify to notify and beep when un/plugging the laptop or reaching max charge
• Set up a script to keep xscreensaver from blanking the screen when video is visible - from here. This works fantastically, but I just cannot work out how, despite how simple the script is - looking at it, it depends on grepping ps aux for libflashplayer.so, but I can never find that when I look on my system. If anyone can work this out I'd be glad to hear.
• Set startx to play the Windows Vista login sound. :D

All in all, 10/10 not going back!
