Hello good people of fuckcars,
We are reaching out to you from Toronto, Canada where local advocates are trying to get the city's biggest and busiest park (High Park) turned into a car-free and pedestrian-friendly space.
This effort should not be needed since our city already spent great time, effort, and money engaging with 17,000+ residents through 2 extensive surveys over the course of 2 years. And what did their reports tell them? We don't want cars in High Park! The results were incredibly definitive, including among the majority of park users with disabilities.
Despite this fact, there is a push against closing the park to cars and they are using accessibility as a reason not to close it.
I am here to ask if anyone has insights or real-life examples of what other car-free parks around the world have done to address accessibility concerns. Specifically getting people with disabilities from the entrance of a park to the various sites inside the park. Any examples or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hello!
California passed SB-197, which gave birth to the housing program California Dream for All. This program isn't available to apply for until 3/27/2023; however, the guidelines and details about the program have been released. You can verify all the info in my post here. This program is similar to the 10% down program CalFHA had last year. Like that previous program, this program only has a set amount of funds available.
What is the program?
Through shared appreciation, The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) will provide 20% down payment assistance, in the form of a silent second loan. There is not a monthly payment associated with this loan; however, should you sell, refi, or transfer ownership, you will have to repay the loan they provided to you, as well as a portion of the appreciation. This loan does not turn into a grant.
- For Example -
$500,000 purchase price.
CalHFA will give you $100,000
This amount doesn't include what you would owe through shared appreciation.
What does shared appreciation mean?
CalHFA is entitled to 15% or 20% of the appreciation gained the purchase date. Whether you pay 15% or 20% will depend on your income. Per the guidelines, buyers whose income is between 80% - 150% of your county's Area Median Income (AMI) pay 20% of the appreciation. Most buyers are going to be within this range. If your income is less than 80% then CalHFA will only take 15%.

Convincing Wife to Quit or Go Part Time

TLDR - Our passive income covers all our expenses, plus some.
Kids' college is fully funded, no debt, paid off house, blah, blah.
My wife is still killing herself working as an OR nurse even though she could quit altogether if she wanted.
We're at the point where we are saving her entire paycheck by just shoving it into our brokerage account.
Her theory is we should just keep going with the money grab as long as possible.

I live on a canal boat currently moored at Alperton. The amount of plastic that I see along the canal and in general in this area in particular is disgraceful. In the past week, I have seen 3 dead animas, nestled amongst a huge churn of plant matter and plastic waste. This makes me so sad.

I've had the Jabra Evolve 75 for just under 3 years and have loved it most of that time. However, the last 6 months the microphone has been completely broken. It occurred very suddenly, and it doesn't work on any device - iOS, Mac, Windows, bluetooth, USB, nothing works.
It is super inconvenient for work but I can't shell out on a brand new replacement at this point, so I've been living with it as-is.
Am I missing something simple or is this a known problem with this model? Some posts indicate that this something folks might be familiar with. Just looking for any sort of assistance. Posting here since the site was giving a technical issue when submitting the ticket.

Hi, it's me again
Yesterday I posted a tip for Moon Farmers to get a small bit of Ethereum so you can interact with your Moons. (https://www.reddit.com/CryptoCurrency/comments/11xjctm/tip_for_all_moon_farmers/). It came to my attention that even the most experienced Moon farmers were not familiar with this tip. Also, there were over 100 (of 400) messages of new Moon farmers barely knowing anything about the project. Therefor, I wanted to write a post for some tips and tricks.
What are Moons?
This is for the 100 (or so) people just started. Moons is a governance token from the CryptoCurrency subreddit. It's on the Arbitrum Nova chain, which is an L2 build on the Ethereum blockchain. An L2 is is easy easy easy words a blockchain build on another blockchain to reduce fees and costs to interact.
As you might see on the top of the Reddit you'll see an advertisement banner. In order to advertise (or do AMA's) here you can buy Moons and burn them. What.. burning? It works sorta like a stock buyback what companies do. There is x amount of Moons, when they get burned they'll disappear thus making your piece of pie more valuable.
How do you get Moons?
This is also for the 100 (or so) people mentioned above. You simply get them by interacting in this sub. By getting upvotes and awards you get Karma. Based on the amount of Karma you amass you'll get Moons every 28 days.
Before you start farming, go to setting and click Vault. Open the Vault and go to the settings (within the Vault), click recovery phrase and write the 12 words on a sturdy piece of paper. Why you may ask? In case you loose acces to your Reddit account you can still acces your means? How you may ask? They are stored on the blockchain and not on Reddit, so the Vault is essentially a gateway to interact with your wallet.
If you head over to ccmoons.com you'll see 2 important dates:
- Snapshot: the day you'll find out how much Karma you've earned this month
- Distribution date: The day your Moons get delivered to your Vault (this is tonight! Happy Distribution day!!!)
How are they distributed you may ask? Quite simple actually, amount of Moons to be distributed divided by the amount of Karma earned in the month. Every month x amount of Moons gets distributed which is declining every month -> 40% goes to the Reddit tank, 10% to our hard working mods and 50% are distributed for us Moon Farmers.
Information for the more seasoned farmers to amass more Moons
This information is for the 150 (or so) newer Moon farmers wanting to amass more Moons.
What to look out for when making a post:

- When posting a COMEDY post you'll only get 0.1x the Moons per Karma! (CCIP-004)
- When posting a link post, such as a newspost you see all the time, you'll only get 0.5x the Moons per Karma earned. (CCIP-038)
- When posting a SERIOUS flare, you'll earn 2x the Moons per Karma earned. (CCIP-041)
Now before you post everything with a SERIOUS flare. Per flare there are rules so you can't simply upload anything under a SERIOUS flag.

BONUS
Moons are governance tokens, which means that you have a say on the trajectory of this subreddit. Every months there are polls on which you can vote with your Moons for new implications. For every poll you vote on you get 5% extra Moons! Usually there are for 4 polls thus you can earn 20% Moons simply for participating in these polls

Yesterday a kind Redditor donating many Moons to other Redditors didn't know this fact so here it is. Holding your Moons gets you a multiplier or 1.0. When selling, transferring or donating more than 25% of your Moon holdings (every month) you'll get a penalty and thus receive less Moons per Karma next distribution. So, do whatever you want with your moons but keep atleast 75% every month!
You can also upload memes to cryptocurrencymemes and might be rewarded with Moons for your contribution (CCIP-005)
One last thing: you'll need to ATLEAST earned 10 karma to be eligible to receive Moons that month (CCIP-031).

Interacting with your Moons
There are a couple of ways to interact with your hard earned Moons. BUT, before you do you need Ethereum to move them around. You can either send it yourself but since Arbitrum is a L2 it's bit of a hassle. There is an easier way but it's done out of the pocket of some enthousiast so don't misuse it.
  1. Go to CryptoCurrencyMoons, go to any post and type !gas nova -> You'll receive a bit of gas to do roughly 9-10 transactions
  2. Go to https://novafaucet.com/, type in your username and adress and the same happens.
Now that you have gas to interact, what can you do? (Don't forget the 25% rule mentioned above)
  1. Sell (or swap), you could ofcourse sell your Moons. Send Moons to a DEX or CEX and sell them.
  2. Provide liquidity, send some Moons to Sushiswap and provide to the MOONS/ETH liquidity pool for a bit of extra APY.
  3. Tip, you can tip a Moon or two to posts or comments which you find funny, good or informative. You reward good behaviour thus incentivising people to provide useful content! It's done quite easy, go to a post or comment and press the 3 dots.
  4. Reddit Coins, a less populair way to spend your Moons is interacting with Reddit itself. You can spend your Moons on a cryptocurrency special membership which is like 450 Moons a month.
  5. Governance, do what they are meant for, vote on the future on this subreddit.
The future for Moons is bright so more use-cases might follow!

Homework: this stutter exercise is your homework
  1. Always breathe calmly (no matter what happens)
  2. Each time you block, stop speaking and really experience this fear of failing to move your speech muscles
  3. In this strategy, don't reduce this fear. Rather, the goal of this strategy is to feel as much fear as possible (desensitization: evoke fear to instinctively adjust to conditioned stimuli to reduce the compulsion, rituals, overthinking/overreacting, avoidance responses, corrections and other responses)
  4. Without convincing yourself, adding conditions or analyzing, let your body digest this fear by learning that the fear is not as dangerous as it initially thought. In other words, your only job in this strategy is to make the fear bigger (and let your instinct adjust automatically). In this strategy, your job is to feel excited if you stutter (excitement but more in the sense of 'I don't care that I stutter, but I do prioritize this strategy'). An argument is that you can then apply this strategy
  5. Learn to notice how you are subconsciously applying blaming this fear to stop moving your speech muscles. Normally what we often do is, we try to reduce this fear, however, we have never succeeded to outgrow stuttering by doing this. In this strategy (instead of reducing fear, we feel as much fear as possible while) we interrupt ourselves if we 'blame this fear to stop moving speech muscles', in other words, interrupt yourself if you blame this fear. Of course, you'd need to change your whole perspective how you view your process of stuttering, so if you stutter from now on, then you should perceive this as 'I stuttered just now, because I blamed this fear to stop moving speech muscles'

Hey, I bought the game recently and immediately got hooked. Love all the interconnected storylines and the fact that the game just sort of drops you in to this world and doesn't hold your hand much.
Although sometimes I find that the game would really benefit from an ingame notepad or a way to pin recipes... I use a second monitor to write down a lot of recipes or small "todos" just so I can remember what items to bring next time...
However when it comes to alchemy I literally have no idea what I'm doing. I figured out that I can study things first and then "decompose" them to different things and mix them together but... Is it all just guessing when trying to get a specific thing? Right now I'm trying to get more >!zombie juice Gunter tells me I need blood and some kind of a powder for more juice but so far I've only been able to make bunch of goos and stuff 😅
I'd prefer to not use the wiki for a game like this but alchemy has me stumped at the moment.

This has happened in an rp I am creating. Join the subreddit AliceInBorderland_rp and notify your presence to be able to be a part of this wonderful adventure !
Difficulty : 5 of clubs
Venue : Movie Theater
Player limit : 12 max
Rules : The players must gather in teams of 3. They will play 3 mini-games where they can win points : One physical mini-game, one mind based mini-games and one psychological mini-game. Every player must play at least one mini-game. When everything has ended, the team with the least points will be eliminated.
Story : It was their first day into the borderlands. They were completely lost and the movie theater lit up. As they went into a movie screening room, the screen went on. The 12 of them were completely disoriented. Someone jokingly said they were probably here to watch avatar or a movie like that. A voice announced : "Game : All stars, Difficulty : 5 of clubs, you must first gather in groups of 3 to begin the game. If you don't do it by the end of the 10 minutes timer, you'll be randomly assigned a team." One of the players freaked out, and tried to escape. A red laser shot the guy, and he was no more. The voice said : "One of the players was eliminated before being able to join a team. There will consequently be a team of 2 which will have a disadvantage.
The players gathered, and soon the first team was formed. The second too, and, curiously enough, a team of 2 was created even before the last team of three. Team 3 would only have 2 players.
The voice spoke again : "Every player will need to play at least one mini-game. Choose, for each team, who will go first for the physical game. You have 5 minutes".
Every team discussed, and soon there were 4 players for the mini game. In front of the giant screen, four panels rose from the ground, containing every number from 0 to 9. The voice told the chosen players to go in front of these panels. It said : "We will test your reflexes. In a random amount of time, a number from 0 to 9 will be on the screen. You will win points depending on how fast you typed the number : The first one will win 3 points, Then 1 point for the second and third team, and none for the last one. The game begins now"
The next minutes were tense, everyone was wondering when the voice would speak again, and when the number would light up on the screen. After what felt like hours, a giant 4 appeared on the screen. Team 3 and 4 players were extremely fast, selecting the number less than 1 second after the announcement. However team 3 was in lead, by less than one tenth of a second. Team 4 was following, then team 2, and team 1 reacted way too slowly after.
Then the players joined their teams. And it was time for the game of mind. The chosen players arrived to the scene, and there were 4 calculators on the ground, a box in the center as well as 4 pieces of paper and 4 pens.The voice said : "You will be given a 3 digit number, and 6 smaller numbers. Your goal is, using the 4 basic math operations, and parenthesis, to be able to obtain the big number with the smaller numbers. You'll need to use every small number once and once only. For example, to obtain 10 with 3, 1 and 5 you can say : 10 = (3-1)*5. The other members of the team may not help their players. You must write your answer onto your piece of paper and put it in the box in the center of the room. The points will be given based on how fast you answered : First wins 4 points, second wins 1 and the others win nothing.".
The voice then announced : "Number : 837. Intermediate numbers : 2 3 5 7 8 20"
Long minutes of silence then happened. The players were trying their best to answer. Everyone was struggling. Suddenly, the team 2 participant, stood up and wrote his answer :
837 = ((3*5)+(7+8))*(20+7)
Team 3 then found the answer, and so the mini-game ended. Team 2 had 5 points already, while Team 1 had none. Team 3 has 4 and team 4 had 1.Team 1 was stressed out, and so was team 4. They knew that this game would be decisive. The voice announced : "The last game will be psychological. Everyone, go in front of the screen and put on a blindfold." The players did so. The voice then told the players : "You have 2 minutes to raise your hand. The goal of the game is to be the second player to raise their hand. They will win 5 points. The third player to do so will receive 2 points. The first and last players to raise their hand will lose one point. Only the players are allowed to talk. the 2 minutes begin now !"The player from team one panicked, and screamed : "I did not understand the rules ! I did not understand ! What am I supposed to do ?" And, panicking, he rose his hand up. But what he did not know is that, before him, the player from team 2 had already done that. His team would not lose anyway, so what would be the point of waiting ? And so, without even knowing it, team 1 had won the game. team 4 rose their hand slightly after, followed by team 3.
The points were distributed.
Team 1 was first with 5 pointsTeam 2 was second with 4 pointsTeam 3 and 4 tied for last place
As the entirety of team 1 was almost crying of joy and team 2 was happy to be alive, team 3 and 4 were anxious. The voice announced a tiebreaker. The losing team would be eliminated.
The panels from the first mini-game rose again, and an equation was put on the screen, along with the phrase : violence is allowed.
5x = ((Points of team 1) - (Points of team2)) * (Sum of the points of every team). Find x.
The players from team 4 almost immediately started preventing team 3 from winning, by not letting them go near the panels. However, It was already too late, as a member of team 3 had already clicked on, by accident maybe, the button 3. 3 lasers fell from the sky, and team 4 was no more. The players all got 5 days of visa, and learned a little bit more about this world. Some people stood together, and, with that, the 5 of clubs was cleared.

Stock futures are flat as investors await key Fed policy decision: Live updates

Stock futures were slightly lower Wednesday as investors braced for the Federal Reserve’s next move in its inflation-fighting rate hiking plan.
Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 14 points, or 0.04%. S&P 500 futures were down 0.02%, while Nasdaq-100 futures dipped 0.14%.
The major averages posted strong gains in the previous session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 316 points, or nearly 1%. The S&P 500 jumped 1.3%, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.58%.
The moves came as fears over the ongoing banking crisis showed signs of easing, with investors “heartened by the increasing likelihood that the end of Fed policy tightening is near,” said Brian Levitt, global market strategist for Invesco.
“Fed tightening cycles typically end with a crisis, and those crises tend to end with policy responses. That may help to explain today’s market moves,” he added.
Investors are looking forward to the latest update from the Fed, at the conclusion of its two-day policy meeting on Wednesday. Most investors expect the central bank to stay committed to its tightening and raise rates by 25 basis points.
As of Wednesday morning, there is about an 85% chance of a quarter-point increase by the Fed, according to CME Group’s FedWatch tool. Meanwhile, there’s a roughly 15% probability of there being no hike.
“We think the Fed will take that next step, that 25 basis point increase, but probably wrap that in some pretty dovish language to indicate they’re close to the end, if not at the end,” said Neuberger Berman’s Erik Knutzen said on CNBC’s “Closing Bell.” “In a way, it almost doesn’t matter, it’s priced in. What’s most important is the broad liquidity being provided through the Fed’s balance sheet and some of the programs they put in place, the liquidity they provided last week.”
He added that that could lead to “considerable tightening, as banks change their posture in this more challenging environment — and that’s the part that we think is going to have the biggest negative impact on the economy.”
Elsewhere, investors are expecting an update on the latest MBA mortgage purchase applications reading. There are also a handful of companies slated to post results Wednesday, including Tencent and Winnebago.

Hi, I set up jsonls and yamlls accoding to nvim-lspconfig and schemastore.nvim. However whenever I enter a json/yaml file I get the following error. I don't know where to ask, do you think I should open an issue at nvim-lspconfig or rather neovim?
For context, I am using nvim HEAD. lsp configs are here in my dotfiles.
