In my first session with my psychologist I discussed some things about society that I read online about, and which effected my mood.
I mentioned how I read online about ageism towards women and also how people on Reddit talk about men preferring younger women and beauty being all about being younger. I also noticed this trend offline in the media, etc. Although I had never outright asked people nor discussed it with people in real life.
She then said to me that most people do not think that men prefer younger women when it comes to physical beauty and sex. She also said most people do not think that physical beauty is mostly about how much younger you are nor how much younger you look. She said she has known hundreds of people and worked with hundreds of people and that she has a lot of experience. So that's why she knows about most people. I asked my parents and sister, and they had the same sentiments as her. My psychologist also said Reddit is not a good source of information because people who use it are not mainstream people, so people who prove me right on here are not speaking for the majority. And she also said Reddit is an echo chamber & confirmation bias and that most normal people don't interact with strangers online and wouldn't go on Reddit.

2023.03.22 13:11 _calypsoxx i discontinued taking antibiotics after 8 days, would that develop resistance?

i was prescribed doxycycline by my derma last year for a month. around that time, i also got my wisdom tooth extracted so my dentist prescribed mefenamic acid. this is when i first felt vag itchiness and had white discharge. we thought it was a yeast infection and my mom said it was maybe because of the meds. we didn't bother getting a check up, so i just waited til i was done with the meds then the yeast infection had also gone.
the doxycycline was effective on my acne tho because i got clear skin until i went to the beach, my acne started to come back. and it became worse when i got back to school because i would wear face mask everyday.
i was prescribed doxycycline for a month again. i already had it for a week when i started feeling vag itchiness and there's also white discharge again. i've researched that doxycycline can cause vaginal yeast infection? so it's the culprit since then?
coincidentally, my nurse cousin told me to stop taking doxycycline because it causes harmful side effects to the liver and kidney. i didn't tell her that i was experiencing a yeast infection.
so now i decided to discontinue the antibiotics after 8 days of taking it. my derma doesn't have clinic schedule until next week so idk what to do. is that safe?? wouldn't that develop resistance? if i decide to continue the antibiotics after the yeast infection is gone, would that be okay?

2023.03.22 12:57 nemuro87 RTX 2060 Mobile Laptop, will entry level VR work acceptably?

I have a RTX 2060 6GB Mobile Equipped gaming Laptop with an Intel CPU, and I use it exclusively for GA to fly the same Cessna and surroundings available at my flight school. I also use rudder pedals and a TurtleBeach Velocity One, and so far this setup works for me.
As a next step, I'm now thinking I could either go head tracking (dedicated hw or OpenTrack + webcam) or go to an entry level VR headset to help with spatial awareness, and VFR orientation during flight, practicing the instrument layout, etc.
I'm obviously not worried about 60FPS (I'm satisfied with current performance at 1440p HIGH) and not looking to crank up the details to Ultra, I just want to simulate my circuits, landing approaches, HASELL checks, checklists and other procedures which involve checking dials and instruments in a specific order as per the procedures I've learned in school. I'm aware the real thing has no substitute in a DYI home sim setup, but hopefully I can at least get into the habit of where everything is positioned and hopefully get a bit of practice that helps me be faster and confortable at the flying lessons.
So, is an entry level VR worth it for this hw setup I have? will it even work at least at 30FPS with low details? Or is it better I stick to my monitor and instead invest in head tracking? I used OpenTrack and it definitely enhanced my training experience but now I'm unsure if my laptop's hardware is enough to update to an entry level VR.

Hey all, I'm someone who used to have a fully paid off house mortgage, an investment property downt the beach, and some toys to play with in the ocean. I had owned the car outright and things were great financially. We started off in humble beginnings, but turned it around over time. We also had three kids together. Now, after 12 years, I left him for many reasons but one major one being treated with absolute disrespect in all areas if you know what I mean. It was too much and caused me significant depression. We seperated. (still married though) and have legally financially seperated. I have now hit rock bottom financially, becasue I ended up having 'lost dogs syndrome' and seemed to attract guys that required financial help, and a place to live. So yeah, I feel shit about that, so don't need to remind myself about anything. Anyway, my question here tonight, is, as the banks have all said a big fat no to me to borrowing even a small amount, I am unable to source a personal loan in order to help get me back on track financially. I am a wedding and portrait photographer who can clearly service a loan, however due to bad credit rating (thanks to stupid ex's influencing me and me feeling compelled to help) - yes, I'm a dick. But due to that, I am now on the hunt for someone that isn't a 'bank' that will provide me with a loan. Is this even possible? Credit rating is average. And I have had no help from any guy that I have been with. They just took and took and took from me. Is there some kind of investors forum, or an area where actual self made people, allow small loans to people in exchange for either equity in something, or even purely just getting the benefit of a high interest rate versus the bank?
Please no hate. Or sarcasm. This is the hardest and most traumatic time of my life for so many reasons I have not mentioned. Thank you xxx

So I have been traveling for 3 months now and quite honestly, I feel like I have no more motivation to do anything.
The sights I visit don’t feel special to me anymore, I’m like: oh another nice temple/nice building/monument, another huge cave, another beautiful beach,some awesome scenery, that’s cool I guess.
What others view as dream destinations, for me doesn’t trigger anything anymore.
Also, the everyday travel inconveniences annoy me: there is never a consistent/stable environment, no routines, some disgusting bathrooms with mold everywhere, other people’s hair and toenails in the shower, etc. etc.
Seriously, I can’t tell you how much I miss just putting a pizza in the oven in the middle of the night if I feel like it or making myself a cereal that is ready to eat in a minute.
Now you might suggest for me to go book a private room, which I do every now and then, but my budget doesn’t allow for it all that often.
I am writing this message from my room in Malaysia, where for the past week I have only been in my bed watching YouTube/Netflix/ other useless stuff on my phone.
I have no more motivation to travel and I don’t see a way for improvement.
To the other long term travelers: do you sometimes feel like this and what do you do to help yourself?
Rn I am thinking about ending my trip, which was initially planned to last for 2 more months.

So I feel like I need to vent on this but im going to be cautious with what I say. The Army has got plenty of issues we can all agree on that so lets get that out of the way. Issues aside.. youre a member of the United States Army.. the same organization that landed on the beaches of Italy and Africa countless times, and the beaches of Normandy. The same army that beat the hell out of the British (The greatest empire at the time) despite lack of food, water, warm clothes etc… I ask Jr soldiers why they joined the Army and honestly everytime i hear less of “to serve my country” and more of “college benefits” sure college is great im using TA myself but it is not why i joined. Idk why im posting this honestly but just remember to be proud that youre a Soldier in the greatest war fighting organization in the world. Il take a whiskey and coke on the rocks heavy pour..
