Just so have some comtext on area we live in my famliy and me live in a mobile home park were the trailers have been converted to homes.So recently me, my wife and the rest of the family that lives with us have been hearing and/or smelling strange sounds at first we thought it was the stray cats or raccoons but then things started getting weirder we started hearing sounds sometimes it would be footsteps other times we would hear knocking we thought maybe we smoked a bit too much of devils lettuce but everyone else in the house was also hearing these things that's when the sounds started sounding like people talking to us but the weird thing was it always sounds like they are incredibly far away the most recent thing was the smell of a rotten corpse of some kind but I couldn't for the life me remember when I last smelled a corpse like that but the smell seemed almost intense as if it was right in front of me I checked around our home and under it too make sure there was no dead animals this happened at almost 12 at night when me and my wife were outside smoking I had my brother come out and check and even he agreed that it wasn't just me who smelled it he said it smells like a corpse of person and that's when I remembered why the smell seemed so familiar because a man had died a few years ago and I remember how many times we walked by his corpse till they realized he died inside the wall but I never forgot the smell it was a very horrid smell. Still that smell only has happened once and it hasn't come back that I know off I'm usually one to think of scientific reasons I ended up checking if any possible sewage had leaked from a pipe or if it came from our neighbors but nothing seemed out of the ordinary these weird happenings only seem to happen at night and most of the people who live near us are usually asleep by 10 pm and we stay up till about 12 or 1 in the morning my neighbors have told me that on the few occasions they have been outside at that hour they say they feel uncomfortable or they hear something but they chalk up to maybe the random animals or them being tired I'll post an update if anything significant happens would also like any opinions or theories to know what it might be.

My brother has always been a bit of a piece of shit. He lied all through college that he was going to classes and then dropped out halfway through, so my parents let him live there rent free. They paid for him to go to another college, and right out of college he gets an offer for over 100k (possibly close to 150k) and they’re paying for his masters, too.
I, on the other hand, worked my ass off to pay for myself through college, graduated with a good GPA (not stellar but what do you expect when you’re working at the same time as taking classes), and despite being in nearly the same field as him I can only get offers close to 50k. I suspect my brother either lied on his resume or is the luckiest bastard to ever live and found the dumbest company that thought he was worth that much.
I just keep asking- where is my windfall? When do I get to find a cushy job that literally sets me up for life without ever having to worry financially ever again? Where is my second college being paid for by my parents, and masters degree for free from some stupid employer? I hate to say it but I hope it turns out he lied and they fire him so I don’t have to live knowing that he gets rewarded for failing.

I am, was planning a cactus rock gared for my location but it turns out decent sized cacti are very expensive and rare in my country. So, now I'm thinking of a semi desert garden including cacti, succulents, olive trees, and anything else relevant I can find . I'm a complete noob in this area and would like to hear some comments, suggestions in this area . - subjective but it looks a bit better imo, 6a looks cheap

i personally dont care about 1h faster charging nor about refresh rate because i feel it drains battery faster (and thus u need to charge more often, and decrease total battery life more)
the only thing i like about neo is that its lower weight and maybe visually looking better.
Im tired of phones that i cant take anywhere coz theyre too heavy and theyre dragging my pants down or theyre making it uncomforotable when im running coz of their size or dimensions, or theyre dragging my pockets/pants down.

Hi guys! I had ACL surgery (quad graft) no meniscus or something just ACL. Currently I am 4 and half weeks post op. And for one week I have pain at the back of the knee especially on the lateral side where ITB Band is located(probably). Its a bit sharp pain that goes a bit to my hamstring mainly when I exercise (bending/straightening etc.) and it limits my flexion overall I think. I asked my PT about it and he said that it can be part of the healing process, or it can be caused by swelling or something, in general he didnt worry about that much and said that I can continue in exercise plan and push it as it possible for me. Is it normal or should I be worried about it and try to talk about it with my surgeon? When I walk it feels okay and pain is minimal. Do someone experience the same thing or did someone experience the same pain during his acl recovery? Thanks for your responses!

Interdimentional Villain Exchange Program -2- The Fall

So Here i am, beaten up, stranded in an unknown world, and currently falling to my death in a seemingly endless expanse of an azure sky…
I wonder if it truly is endless. I'm honestly not sure whether I would prefer to fall until I die of thirst, or of abruptly stopping falling. Well, whichever it is is a secondary issue, since I would much rather survive instead.
I looked around, hoping to see one of those floating islands near enough to simply conjure a wind to push me a little before casting a simple [Feather Fall] spell and be done with it, but sadly none were near enough. Although there was one that could be worked with. One of the smaller islands looked barely close enough to give it a shot. A little bit too far for my liking to be honest but far enough down to leave enough wiggle room to work with. It was entirely covered with sparse forest, with the exception of a small pond in the middle.
It would have to do. Although I will have to be a little bit creative to get there.
Normally there would be no problem with crossing the distance that separated me from this island. It was only about six miles after all. A simple [Fly] spell would be more than sufficient to cover many times this distance. And that's not even taking any dimensionalism spells into account
The problem however was, that this isn’t a normal situation. Without any sort of spell focus any complex spell formula I try to use is going to be highly unstable, leaking mana like crazy at best, or completely collapsing at worst. Because of that any advanced, multifunctional spell with a complex formula is out of the question.
My mana reserve is not small by any means, but even I cannot sustain a 5-10% mana efficiency [Fly] spell for long. Not to mention that depending on the mana density around me the spell relatively complex might just collapse, and a backlash from an imploded spell is the last thing my battered body needs at the moment.
That leaves me then only with the First Magic spells at my disposal. They might not be the most powerful or complex, but their incredible casting speed and a spell formula designed to function without a spell focus is just what I need right now.
But after mentally running through all the first magic spells i know i realized i don't quite have anything that could easily get me out of my situation. All the First Magic spells I knew are focused on one of two things, combat utility, mainly disruption and creating distance from my opponent, and making my day to day existence easier.
‘Yeah… Why would I learn [Glide] if I already know [Fly]? A complete waste of time I said… it's much better to learn the [Chill] spell to cool my drinks.’ I lampooned silently.
‘Ok. Focus. There will be time to punch myself in the face later. Now it's time to get creative, not depressed.’
When my mind was still trying to work out what I could do to save myself from death, I suddenly remembered my first ever magic teacher. He was an old cripple who served in the Royal Army until he lost his arm. By now I obviously know that he wasn’t much more than a third rate mage with a forth rate training. However thanks to that he knew the life of the weak and powerless much better than any other teacher i ever had, and although most of his teaching have been lacking in detail, or were straight up incorrect, he taught me two things that other mages not only would not teach me, but did not fully understand themselves.
Those lessons have saved his life numerous times, so he made a point to teach them to me before anything else. And since then they have saved mine over and over again. And it was time to rely on them again.
It only took me a second to come up with a plan. I started casting a [Blink] spell. [Blink] Is a very useful spell. It works by creating a small portal door to a different location within around ten meters, and then dragging the entrance portal through the space that the caster occupies, making the caster appear at the location of an exit portal.
It's the simplest dimensionalism spell, due to its small range and a brief existence of the portal. The degree of mastery that a mage has over this spell however, is often said to be the easiest way to differentiate an amateur from the master of magic.
That's mainly due to the insane versatility this spell has. Sure its most obvious use is to create or close the distance from the enemy combatant, however there is so much more that this spell can do. You can dodge arrows with it, or even redirect them at the enemies. You can cast it anchored to an enemy that is too close to you for your liking and reposition them, and so much more.
Even the advanced dimensionalism spell [Dimensional Shield] is nothing more than a mana construct using [Blink] spells to redirect attacks aimed at the caster towards the attackers.
All of that was possible thanks to the fact that [Blink] created a temporary portal gateway instead of being an instant transmission spell like [Shadow Step] was. Which meant that it allowed the objects transported with it to carry momentum they had before instead of canceling it out.
This was exactly the quality I desired to use right now. Normally the entrance and the exit portals share the same angle of entrance. You would not want to [Blink] only to find out that you are upside down now, right? However with just a small alteration to the spell formula, the exit portal can be angled however you would like. As a result, when i casted the spell, I chose to place the entrance portal under me facing up, and the exit portal above me, facing towards the floating island I was aiming for, which resulted in me shooting towards my goal at terminal velocity, and resetting my falling speed to zero.
What I just did was the result of the first lesson I ever received. A lesson I could still hear today as clearly as the day it was first given.
“Listen to me carefully Young One, because what I'm about to say will not be taught to you anywhere else. Magic allows us to bend reality to our will, and most of us, Mages, pride ourselves on dominating it to do our bidding.” He said with his old, tired voice “Reality however is not your enemy, but your greatest ally. If you learn to walk alongside it on the road to your goals, you are going to achieve much more than if you had to fight it on every step of your way”.
This lesson, although simple, has saved me more times than I could remember. Yet to my shock when i asked about it my next teacher he just scoffed and said that “this is a lesson of a weak and powerless”, and that “a true mage bows to no one, not even the world itself”
I was still young and naive back then so I believed him. After all, He was already systematically pointing out a thousand flaws and imperfections in my spellcraft, and seeing my spellcasting improve by the day I believed him that he was also right about this.
It was only a few years later that I realized how foolish that was. I was escaping from an heir of the Ruderic noble family. He was chasing me through the woods because I dared to attempt to stop him while he was about to have fun with some poor village girl that caught his eye.
I did not know he was a mage himself. and a good one at that. Much better than me back then anyway. I was running for my life, burned in places, sliced others. I managed to evade him for a while. However, I was caught when I mistakenly ran into a small ravine. I had nowhere to run and no one to help me. I was trapped with no escape and no help in sight.
And then he caught up to me. Seeing i was trapped he started to boast about how pathetic i am, and what he is going to do to me before he kills me. Luckily in my moment of panic I remembered the lesson the old man gave me, and spotted an opportunity.
A giant boulder, much more massive than anything I could lift with magic was positioned right above where the nobleman was standing. But I didn't have to lift it. Only then I realized the wisdom of the words I have been told. Don't fight reality. Because if you make it your ally, you will never fight alone. And as the stone hurled down to save me, I swore to myself to never question the wisdom of the weak ever again.
However that was only the first part of the wisdom bestowed upon me that day. And now, in possession of the tremendous speed bestowed to me by my greatest ally, it was time to use the second part.
It's true that I didn't have the perfect spell for the job. But since when is perfection necessary? “It is said that a Great Mage has a hundred spells ready for any situation he encounters” The old man said “But in my opinion a true mark of greatness is the ability to use a single spell in a hundred situations. Do not learn how to stop an arrow in a dozen ways, learn a dozen ways to use an arrow stopping spell”
Once again that wisdom was rebuked by prideful masters, dismissed as the whining of someone incapable of memorizing enough formulas for greatness.
However today I know that they were the ones too stuck in the conventions to achieve anything.
And it proved true once more when I spread my hands and legs while casting a [Mana Shield] spell making it fill up the space between my limbs. [Mana Shield] is an unremarkable spell, useful only due to its extremely simple spell formula, granting it an extremely short casting time even in comparison to other First Magic.
It created a solidified wall of mana that stopped anything from moving through it, be it physical or elemental in nature. Even notoriously difficult to block pure mana projectiles were blocked by it. Its main downsides was relatively low mana efficiency, and possible strength in comparison to more complicated spells. However sometimes you just want a wall in front of you “right fucking now” and all other concerns are secondary.
The main reason I use it now however is the fact that by stopping the air it could serve in a similar way to a wing. This spell can’t extend too far away from my body however, so I could not form those, and I settled on imitating a squirrel-like animal capable of gliding that I once saw at one of the noble houses I burned down and took with me as a pet until it died.
I didn’t have much success at gliding first, until I weakened mana output to the [Mana Shield] allowing it to deform slightly. However after that it only took me a few moments to figure out the kinks of this improvised spell.
But that still would not be enough.
As I closed in on the island I realized that I'm not going to make it. and I watched in horror as the edge of the island moved higher and higher.
However, an inspiration came at the last possible moment when I saw a bird circling above the island.
UPDRAFT!
I need to create an updraft!
And I know just the right spell…
Without wasting any more time I casted [Gust] spell aimed upwards and pumped as much mana as I could into it. After all the spell was created to disperse the fog and smoke type spells or to create a cloud of dust to obscure something if it was casted on sand, not to lift a person upwards, and as such it needed a lot of extra juice to manage.
As the howling wind intensified I could feel the formula of the spell strain under the enormous amount of mana being pumped into it by me. It seemed to almost creek and deform under the pressure, and it seemed as if it was going to shatter. But it would hold.
It had to.
When the part of the formula seemed to falter under the stress I grafted more structural mana onto it, increasing its durability at the cost of mana efficiency.
The formula was breaking, huge amounts of mana were leaking…
…but it was working!
I was slowly but steadily getting closer and closer to the cliff. Just a bit more…
And then, three things seemed to happen all at once.
First, the spell formula finally gave out. It imploded with a thunderous crack sending the excess mana it operated back into its host, shocking every muscle fiber and bone in my body.
Then as the result of the mana backlash from the collapsing [Gust] spell I lost control over the [Mana Shield] spell, causing it to collapse as well. And making me plunge down as a result.
The third thing, and the last thing I remembered before blacking out was the loud THUD sound of me falling to the ground.
‘I made it.’
That was the last thought I had before the unconsciousness took me into its warm embrace.
And I gave in to it.

Hi all. I'm still new to roleplaying on reddit, so forgive me if this listing is lacking in quality.
Here's some information about me. Any of the plays below will certainly include smut..

To prevent you from wasting your time, here are what I expect from a partner up front.

With that out of the way, here's the pitch. I'm looking primarily for a long-term roleplaying partner that I can explore one (or more) of my premises with. If we click really well, then there's the possibility of lots and lots of different roleplays. I write as all genders but prefer not to play a girl alongside a partner playing a guy if romance is involved. I skew very heavily towards FxF pairings. I don't care about what gender you are, or what you were assigned as at birth. I have no problem playing with anything on(or off) the beautiful technicolour rainbow.
I will list the settings I'm currently looking for below. I don't want this to become a huge novel, so I'm going to keep each premise rather simple, but I do have a lot more detail to give. Message me with questions if you'd like to know more.
Fantasy: This roleplay will take place in a Fantasy Setting that I've already come up with a lot of information for. I have a few characters that I'd be interested in playing as, ranging from a Dark Mage to an optimistic, peppy Hero. Generally, it would involve adventuring to new places with a new partnecompanion (your character!) There may also be Video Game Elements in the setting--such as characters openly talking about their 'classes' like it's normal.

Splatoon: While DJ Octavio is in charge of the Octarians, his music keeps octolings mind controlled. One octoling gal is part of a very elite unit, and always shows up hunting a specific agent inkling girl on the opposing side. There's an absolute archenemy vibe. The octoling is a silent sniper, and causes much grief and trouble during fights for the inkling. It practically becomes an obsession--she always targets THIS inkling specifically. That is the target she has been given.
Come DJ Octavio's defeat, despite all her conditioning she comes free from control, but like many octolings has no idea what to do now. How to go forward. Marina scoops them up and helps of course. Integration occurs. One day she passes her former target and is shocked to see her. Naturally, the octoling is unrecognizable. No goggles, new clothes. The inkling is followed into a turf war.
As some fights happen, the inkling gets that weird familiar sense as she comes under sniper fire, and realizes that once again, it's that damn octoling. She basically harasses the inkling in match after match (by going after her exclusively). It's the octoling's only way to feel connected at this point--she was obsessed, and it blossomed into a crush. So. Think for yourself from there.

Yandere: Lexi was just about to leave campus, when she saw some poor girl getting bullied from the rearview mirror of her car. A bunch of people beating on her, messing up her books. She was ready to FIGHT, but by the time she got over there, the instigators had left. She does the next best thing--help up the girl from the ground, fetch her broken glasses, and see what she could do to help. Lexi had no idea just what a profound effect her simple act of kindness would have on this girl. That she would start being viewed as a savior. A savior by an unhinged student who'd immediately grow obsessed with her, worship her, and eventually believe they were soulmates. Take all of her words to heart, and completely grow attached to her.
(The start I outlined is just one idea--the general premise is for one unhinged girl to quickly fall for another girl, likely blowing a simple act out of proportion and thinking it was a sign, or held deeper meaning than it truly did.)

Gundam: I'm a Gundam FANATIC. I'm familiar with all the tropes. I'll play in just about any Gundam Universe, and have plenty of ideas regarding them. In particular, handling things during the One Year War could be quite fun.

Gunpla Battle: Going off of anime like Build Fighters, we'd be roleplaying through our characters meeting for the first time, working on models together and forming a blossoming friendship while dealing with crises and issues that arise as they work towards the top tournaments.

Super Powers: I have a few different powered characters that work well in the setting. A Speedster, A girl with invisibility, A regenerator, and a Sentai-style hero who relies on tech/equipment. This can be done in an original setting, or folded into Marvel or DC.

I always mod my game files to reduce refine time and reduce the number of hits it takes to get resources from trees/rocks. I do this because I often have a fairly limited amount of time to play, so it helps reduce grind time when it comes to getting metal, wood and stone.
I was contemplating opening the mod tool today and seeing about uploading it to the workshop as a mod, but wanted to see if anyone else is interested. Please let me know if this is something you would want.
Also, how much should I reduce it to start? I can make it anywhere from ‘just a tad bit quicker refining with one less hammer hit,’ to ‘damn near instant refining and one hit to turn tree to logs and another hit to make it refinable.’

I live in Japan and work a job where I sit a lot. I am VERY not flexible, and while I got on walks/bike rides a few times a week, I’m generally pretty sedentary.
There is a local Pilates class near me that I’d like to join, but they only do group training. It’s only broken down into Level 1/Level2, and I’m pretty positive a lot of the attendees are not truly “beginners.”
While I want to start Pilates, I really hate the idea of being embarrassingly low level compared to everyone else. I live in an area without many non-Japanese people, and my 5’9” 24 BMI body already makes me self conscious living here. I will already really stand out if I join- the idea of being laughably inflexible/lacking in strength is just awful.
I see a lot of people recommending videos by certain instructors, but can anyone recommend a 1-2 month boot camp type course (paid is fine) that I can use to get started and boost my confidence enough to start attending actual classes? Something pretty structured/ordered would be ideal rather than having to put together my own video to playlist!

Hi all,
Looking for recommendation for BUDGET (not SBD, Inzer or Pioneer etc.) wrist wrap, elbow sleeves and general training belt that are generally good quality that will last few years instead of months. :P
What I meant by 'general belt' is since I only squat & deadlift 90-110kg I don't require high quality, expensive belt for the near future.
I'll be using this belt for overhead press, and for my newbie squat and deadlifts.
I've already purchased but now sold SBD elbow sleeves that were TOO big even though I measured by their fitting size, Pioneer cut (very high-quality belt but too much for me).

Last night, a 6.8 mag earthquake hit the Hindu Kush mountains near the afghan-Tajikistan border. I live in North India and we felt the tremors as well. when a major earthquake hits that region. The earthquake woke my parents up from sleep and drove neighbours out of their houses. And this was especially a long one since the fan kept swinging for about 2 mins after the initial jolt. I have experienced earthquakes of similar and less scale with the epicenter being in the Hindu kush mountains in the past but this is the first time I could not feel the tremors myself.
Note: I was scrubbing my face with my eyes closed in the bathroom, while not leaning on anything and only noticed the earthquake when I saw the fan swinging( this was after the tremors stopped).
Curious as to could it be something as simple as my mind being pre-occupied to the extent that I did not notice the ground shaking?

It’s in the tip on my tongue. The only lyrics I remember are a female vocalist singing “come a little close, won’t you talk to me”, “pressure disappears”, “everything’s so clear”. I also feel like the title of the song was a woman’s name? But I could be wrong. Please help me locate!

My in laws watch their granddaughter (who’s 3) basically every day of the week. We live with them. She is literally always sick. When my son was only a month old, they allowed her near him when she was sick. Again when she was exposed to Covid. This has happened on multiple occasions to the point that I told my husband something needs to be said.
We had a conversation and stated that we would like a heads up if she is sick and to please keep her away from the baby until she is better. However, they do not. My son caught the flu from her when he was 6 months. And yesterday they told me she was sick and continued to allow her near my son. She tried kissing him and it was so uncomfortable for me to tell her no. I don’t want to offend anyone but I’m just not okay with it. I know I obviously can’t keep my son away from sickness forever but if I KNOW someone is sick, I’d prefer to avoid it. And listen, I get it. That’s their grandchild and their house. But my son is their grandchild as well and I truly feel he isn’t considered when they do this. Am I being sensitive?
*The house is also big enough for them to keep a safe distance.

The lights were on outside when I arrived in front of our gate. It's has always been me who arrives late. When the lights are on, it means I haven't arrived yet. I went inside and did not bother waking Mama. She sleeps at the sala - she prefers her "katre" to be in the sala. My two sisters also sleep in the sala. Before going inside the room, I sat down and look at them in the dark. Tears fell again. I thought I have no tears left to cry.
I stood up and went inside the room where Rosie and Dodong are fast asleep. I changed into my sleeping clothes and just sat in my place between my two babies. They are already 7 and 4 years old but for me, they will always be my babies. I got hold of my pillow and cried. I cried and sobbed so hard.
I was going home that time. Past 4:00 pm. I was at Claveria and waiting for a jeepney bound to Cabantian or Ponte Verde, whichever comes first. My phone vibrated and I had plans of ignoring it and will just check it once I got home but it kept on vibrating. When I checked it was Diane - our Wellness OfficeNurse. I picked up the call and she asked me where was I. She just got back from Sanggunian to process the hospital personnel's health card when the results of my laboratory were given to her. She read my results. She sent my results to Dr. Hen and they are bothered. I told her that I don't get it - that they should not bothered since I will really go to the hematologist. I already know since college that I have a problem with my blood. She is adamant that I get checked since my results since last year showed abnormal levels of white and red blood cells. And now my results are really bothering them. They have to rule out leukemia.
She went on to rant on, "Mao diay ka nga kapoy ka, imung mata nanlawm na kay tungod sa insomnia. Namayat bya ka Maam Jane. Niya naa na sad ka mga bun-og diba?". I told her that, "Maam Yan ba. Mamayat dyud ko kay ga-IF ko. Niya kabalo bya ka sa akoa na sayo ko gatulog, kana lang makamata dyud kog 1am niya dli na kabalik ug sleep. Maam, ok ra lage ko."
What I did not tell her was that I was not doing IF at will anymore for I also noticed my bruises and my old clothes have fitted me again. That I try eating and even went back to drinking soda again but my appetite has changed. I can go on a day without eating. And I do force myself to eat, 15 minutes max and I will surely vomit everything. I also did not tell her how hard it is to sleep now even if I drive myself to exhaustion. That my bruises appear at unlikely places. That I am so so tired.
I ended the call. Diane wanted to see me but I can't meet her. I have to be alone. Whatever the results of my check-up and consultation, I have no plans of telling Mama, my siblings and my kids. Good thing I can write this here since no one knows me personally here. No one will bother read this and look for me and console me.
Because basically, I am like that. I love being there for others. I want to be the one who everyone will run to if they have problems. But me, I am so used to dealing with things alone. Whenever I tried opening up to someone, I will get that remark, "Ana dyud ka no? Taas mag text?", and when I explain that I am more comfortable sharing with strangers and will be responded with, "Aw, sige share lang", I retreat to my shell and resolve not to open up anymore.
For me, yes, I have a lot on my plate, I have problems of my own, I am busy with all the things that I have to juggle but if a 10 minute conversation or a few messages can make the other person heard and valued, I would give that.
I rode a jeepney and did not bother checking the route. I found out when I paid for my fare that it was just Catitipan and won't go to Ponte Verde though it is near. But that's fine. I can walk. I walked from Catitipan to our house. I did not ride a tricycle. I walked and went to a secluded place where joggers and people at Ponte Verde won't see me and there I cried. I realized that, yes, I am sick. And that gnawing hunch that I have that I won't last long is coming into reality.
I thought about Rosie and Dodong. I thought about Mama. I then realized that it will be much better to close off from other people and not let anyone else get too close. Now I understand that I am better off alone and not bother anyone with all of my baggages. All these love in me, in my heart, I asked Papa God before I came here that since I can't give it anymore, that He take it and He made my love felt by keeping those I love safe, that they succeed in life and that they be blessed. My heart is breaking. I am utterly sad. But no one will know. I will be that Jane who will put up a front. Always showing that I am strong and can handle anything.
Tomorrow is yet another day. Tomorrow is never promised. Tell them you love them. Show them you care. Hug them a little too tight and longer now. Work as if you are working for Papa God -- pouring out yourself in all your output and making sure that it has your personal stamp.
As for me, I don't have regrets. Whatever happens, I know that I have showed those I care about my love and I think, that's what matters. My work is praised for I pour my heart out in all my deliverables and when I am assigned a task, I will see to it that I have done my best.
So tonight, I kissed Dodong and Rosie on their foreheads and hugged them a little tighter. ❤️

I've been searching for information on the precursor to standardized heraldry in Western Europe (Eastern Europe and Muslim dominated areas work too), but have had little luck finding any information. I don't have access to a University database or similar, and my library only has local history and very few history books in English. The internet proved very unhelpful, even when trying to find simplistic information.
Most places I scoured agreed that heraldry really began in popularity around the middle of the 12th century, becoming established in the 13th century (the Wijnbergen Armorial was compiled in the latter half of the 13th century). Most of these sources also say that personalized symbols were not common until the mid 12th century at least, and then spread very quickly. I find it very odd that in less than a century you go from having near no tradition (according to the few places on the internet I could find) to an established rich tradition of heraldry.
The Pope carried a standard. I believe the crusaders during the First Crusade wore/carried some symbol of their faith. Ancient Rome had standards and banners. Insignias have a very long history, and I believe, were used in the time frame I mentioned. Decorating shields with paint was common among the Norse, and shield designs are seen on shields in the Bayeux tapestry. I'm certain I've come across mentions of Western European Monarchs bearing standards in the 11th century, but couldn't find it as a reference. Yet, information I could find stated that the painted shields on the Bayeux tapestry was nonuniform and was likely not used in an identifying manner of the bearer's status or allegiance.
I find it difficult to believe that there was little to no tradition in Western Europe during that time for heraldic-esque symbols, even if it was not a uniform tradition in Christendom as it would later become.
Did these symbols act and look very different to the heraldry that replaced them? Was there perhaps nothing to replace? Is heraldic tradition a simple evolution of earlier traditions?
