Over the course of three films so far, we’ve seen the consequences of what can happen when one of the world’s greatest hitmen comes out of retirement. John Wick, AKA Baba Yaga or The Boogeyman, is a man who is not to be trifled with under any circumstances, yet criminals can never seem to learn their lesson. This incredibly popular series began with John (Keanu Reeves) seeking revenge on the men that invaded his home, stole his car, and worst of all, killed his puppy, Daisy. From here, endless complications have prevented John from returning to retirement as he has traveled around the world and gone on the run. Now, in John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023), we’ll get to witness the titular hitman’s greatest challenge yet as he seeks revenge on the High Table. A council of highly respected (and feared) crime lords, they run the criminal underworld’s most powerful and notorious organizations; so needless to say, John has a punishing task ahead of him.

Chad Stahelski’s sequel impressively outdoes the critical success of its predecessors, with John Wick: Chapter 4’s positive reviews being the best of the franchise. The movie already holds a Certified Fresh 93% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, which is higher than the two sequels’ 89% scores and the original’s 8VI% rating. John Wick: Chapter 4 is also expected to be the franchise’s biggest box office success yet, meaning it’s apt to enjoy a long exclusive theatrical window before releasing on streaming.

If you’re excited to see where this highly anticipated action series goes next, we’ve got good news for you, because the latest installment is clocking in at a massive 1VI9 minutes. It’s also out incredibly soon! Keep reading below to find out when and where you can see John Wick: Chapter 4.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the latest installment in the soon-to-be rebooted DC cinematic universe, hasn’t quite soared to the Olympian heights of critical and commercial success some would have hoped for since it opened in theaters last weekend.
The film landed with a resounding thud, earning just $30 million in its opening weekend — the lowest opening of any theatrical-exclusive DC movie to date. Of all the DC movies, only Wonder Woman 1984 and The Suicide Squad did worse, but it’s worth bearing in mind both of those films had to contend with simultaneous streaming and theatrical debuts during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Surprising cameos and continuity lampshading aside, Zachary Levi’s second turn as the superpowered wunderkind Billy Batson feels like the end of an era, leaving fans and skeptics alike to wonder how, when, and if Shazam and his extended family of living titans will return to the DC cinematic universe in light of DC Studios co-chairman James Gunn’s recently announced 10-year plan for a soft reboot following the release of The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Inquiring minds also want to know when they can expect Shazam! Fury of the Gods to be available to watch from home. To that end, we’ve called upon the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury in order to divine an answer to the question: When does Shazam! It's possible that you'll also be able to rent or buy copies of the movie on other streaming platforms, such as Amazon or YouTube but again, it'll be a while before the movie becomes available anywhere other than in theaters.

While there is no official streaming release date yet, Black Adam, another Warner Bros. movie, was released in theaters on Oct. 21 and didn’t make its way to HBO Max until Dec. 16 — just over 45 days after it debuted. If Shazam! Fury of the Gods follows the same trajectory, it’s possible we won’t be able to stream it until early May 2023.

Since ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ is unavailable for streaming on any digital platform, there is currently no way for you to stream the superhero film for free. What you can do is hope that it lands on the online platforms offering a free trial to new subscribers. Nonetheless, it is our humble request to our readers that they don’t resort to any illegal methods to watch their favorite content and instead choose to pay for the applicable subscription and support the cinematic arts.
Where to Watch the First Shazam! Movie

2023.03.26 20:52 XC3100Carl Should I see a doctor?

Hi. I (16m) am objectively unpopular. I have 13 failed friendships and no long-lasting relationships in 5yrs of secondary school. So as any logical, future scientist would do, I went to all of my ex-friends and surveyed them all for data on what's wrong with me cause I'm the only common denominator. They found it strange but decided to help and in between the "I'm too dominating in conversation" and "I expect too much of others", I kept hearing others found my "autistic tendencies difficult". My immediate reaction would be "I'm not autistic" and they would all look at me like it's not even a possibility. This could just be kids being me, but all these separate different people saying it is concerning. To be crystal CLEAR, I'm NOT saying autism has made me unpopular (don't come at me) but ever since then, I have been questioning my neurotypical-ness. The problem is I fit some of the symptoms, not all so I'm really on the fence. I talked to my parents and my father who is a doctor (cardiologist) says he would have noticed and my whole family disregarded it but not me. Here's a list of why I am, and one of why I am not. I know you can't diagnose me but so I want to know if I should talk to a doctor or if it's my hypochondria. Please ask any questions, thank you. TLDR: Please tell me if I should see a doctor?

2023.03.26 20:50 lizzoismymother I put in my two weeks notice at my job toxic job. I've never felt relief like this and I'm so excited.

I 25F put in my two weeks notice on Friday. I've been at this job for a year and a half and have been miserable - the only thing that kept me was the pay. The company culture is paranoid, tense, political and downright scary. A few months back I reached my breaking point - I realized I couldn't work in an environment like this, and no amount of money made it worth it. I really only live for the weekends since I'm usually too mentally exhausted to do anything after work, and just lay on my couch watching TV until I fall asleep. Due to the burn out, I decided to look for jobs that would put very low stress on me. I'm leaving the corporate world and going to a new job that many would consider going "backwards" in my career growth and I'm taking a pay cut, but I don't care. I'll still be able to pay my bills and live the life I do now on an adjusted budget.
I look at it as a step forward - currently commuting + work takes about 55-60 hours of my week, and that's still never enough time to get all my work done. With my new job it will be no more than 35 hours a week, and I will never have work to take home with me. I'm getting an extra 20+ hours back in my week that I can use for more sleep, learning to cook more recipes, exercising more, etc. I can't even express how excited I am. I'm not expecting my new job to be perfect, but I believe it will allow me live much more of my life.

2023.03.26 20:38 Neither_Set_9376 Question for lawyers or law enforcement agents who work for our FBI, ICE, DEA, etc.

notes:
1- I am now moving my post to legaladviceofftopic since hypothetical legal questions do not belong in legaladvice So, sorry for posting there first.
2- I make the caveat that I am only referring to dishonest agents or maybe a few honest agents who easily give in to the influence of their dishonest partners. This is for a fiction book but I want your honest opinion if something like this were to happen to someone. The men and women who work in all branches of U.S. federal law enforcement are decent people whose reputations are **unimpeachable**, yet every day they put their lives on the line to protect us.
3- In my writer's mind I do not speak of conspiracies, but of potential possibilities that could occur based on real experiences and human behavior. I am hypothesizing all the time my comments, but I know that evil and dishonesty exist.

Hi, I need some guidance on when any branch of law enforcement raids a suspect.
1- What happens if the "alleged" suspect is not at home at the time? They go in, take what they are looking for or think they are looking for? What happens when they take money (nothing illegal to have)? They take DVDs (movies, cartoons, collections, tv series), power banks, etc.) with the excuse to deliver them later or never do it? Moreover, breaking property and throwing clothes or furniture on the floor just for the sake of it?
2- if the "alleged" suspect is or is not present. Would they leave some kind of note or card, honestly saying which specific agency was on the raid? Why wouldn't they leave a note? Including the name of the agents, the name of the specific law enforcement and even a phone number and address? And what if they leave a note with false info? I.e., it was the FBI, but instead they said it was ICE, etc.? What if they leave nothing?
3- What happens when the raid was fabricated? In other words, the whole argument of the reasons for the raid was based on conspiracy information, revenge (some of those agents for years hated the target person for reason X or Y), it was mostly out of curiosity to know what that person had in the house or what the house was like inside, etc.?
4- when the person is in the house and suddenly these law enforcement agents arrive, and:
- even though the person asks them if he/she can see the warrant, they demand to enter without the person seeing it at any time or simply because there is no reason to see it?
- If these agents arrive masked or partially undetectable to avoid being identified? If some of them (even if the person remains peaceful) take the opportunity (in front of their peers or apart) to hit (because they wanted to harm him for a long time) the target person and their peers keep it a secret?
5- those agents can take away the security cameras (and never return them, or even destroy them) that are recording them in real time just to hide their traces and actions? Is that legal, honest and ethical?
6- I read that a person should not react aggressively even if the raid is unlawful, that is, there was never a judge signing the papers for such action. However, even if the raid is illegal (there was never a compelling reason for such a raid in the first place) I have read that if the person resists, then the person can legally be arrested, etc. But if it was not legal and the agents were dishonest and favored the case, why then are they still protected and the innocent victim is punished with self defense? I don't understand that. Why this imbalance in the law?
7- When pets are killed or badly hurt (dogs properly chained) and the action of that raid was simply to harm the person without finding true motives... what happens? Are those dishonest actors impugned? Is there no law to protect these animals? And if they steal (legal) pets like land turtles or other animals that are allowed by law according to the state?
I would like to know your opinions,
thank you.

2023.03.26 20:28 KendoKashin Ice Ribbon #1268 Dojo Show review

So yeah, I unsubbed from IR Youtube recently. It wasn’t as easy as it may sound, because a few years ago I would have probably killed to have access to the dojo shows. However, after the recent events, it’s just my way to show then my unhappiness about the current state of the company. So for the last show, I thought why not do one more review then, just for old time’s sake.
The opening six woman tag was pretty good. I liked Yappy and Kiku bringing along stuffed tigers too. Thankfully, Tsukina seems to have stopped the dreadful thigh slapping right in front of the hard cam (Spoiler: she did it again in the main, but she was in tears, so yeah). Saran was very good as usual, but still needs to work on her selling a little bit. I hope they manage to at least keep her in the company. Saran's character work and usual shenanigans, even the way she moves in the ring - she's pure old school Ice Ribbon.
Before this and last week’s dojo show, Kyuri hadn’t wrestled since January. Her becoming a regular again would be a reason for me to resub again, but I know she’s busy. She did win the match for her team though, which was another entertaining six woman tag.
Now, imagine your promotion has lost dozens of wrestlers over the last few years, but you still have two outstanding young talents in Ibuki and Asahi, who both are amazing in the ring, have plenty of charisma and are popular with your fans. Two natural rivals you could build your promotion around. Who could potentially save your struggling company. However, you still managed to screw it up, by jobbing them out and treat at least one of them like she's easily replaceable. As expected, the match was great, even though it felt a bit hurried in some parts. Still the best dojo show match I’ve seen in months. Judging by the end, I believe Ibuki perfectly knows why Asahi is leaving (or *cough* is being "loaned out“), and only her connection with Hamuko and possibly Tsukka makes her stay, at least for now. Great moment between them in the end either way, that even made ref Mio clap.
Oh hey, there's more! Imagine you trained a girl who had all kind of medical problems, but still came back every time to show her love for your promotion and pro wrestling. Who started her own talk show, recorded her own theme, formed her own stable and organized themed shows. She even brought IR on mainstream TV with that eating competition. All of that while working hard to become a solid pro wrestler, with great charisma. Still she got jobbed out to everyone under the sun, even her own stablemates. That is Nao Ishikawa, and her farewell gauntlet match showed how good she really is. Playing the underdog perfectly, selflessly selling her ass off for others, being open for any kind of shenanigans and sillyness, no matter how it makes her look. She just loves pro wrestling. Fantastic last match by her in IR, and in the end she even laid down for the president (who had his personal Mr.McMahon moment), and thanked him for it, after all that happened. How can you let a wrestler like that go? That’s so insane. But yeah, that’s current Ice Ribbon.
Great show, but what a roller coaster of emotions. Seems like I wasn’t the only one feeling that way. Poor Tsukina.
I hope Nao doesn’t stop wrestling, and finds a good spot somewhere else. Hell, I probably would even follow her to SD, and that says a lot. Didn’t do that for anyone. For IR, it probably would be the best for Sato to retire, and them pushing Ibuki as quick as possible, as long as she’s still around. Seeing that Tsukka wasn’t even on the show to say good bye to those two says a lot too. I know she’s on a break, but really? You can’t even come by and hand them some flowers? Tough times ahead. Good luck IR, you will need it.

I'm currently on an open poly LDR. I like sci/fi, horror, dark humor most music like everyone. I appreciate witty banter.
To be fair, if you repeated that we need to be friends. Also if you randomly shout I'm pickle Rick! Or if you use another catch phrase , what is it? Do horror movies recent releases are just lacking in the scare factor and go for the easy gore?
Do you like TV/movies: survivor, battle bots, Netflix: Ozark, Witcher, Norsemen, Alice in borderlands, other obscure shows? Prime: The Expanse, Carnival Row, Dirtbag Movies: Scott Pilgrim vs the world, Eurotrip, The Departed etc. Playstation gamer mostly play GTAO RDR2O fall guys Witcher 3 Assassins creed, Uncharted series. Everyone loves music its cliche. Tell me something that's not typical. Like I can be both an extroverted and introverted. I can be the life of the party and also annoyed by people and not want to leave my apartment.

2023.03.26 20:25 Hairguy_Blondie I don’t like it that people are telling me that I should travel more

Some of my coworkers call me stubborn because I really don’t go out and do much and I am also a one dimensional person in that regard. The things that I like to do are simple, I play video games, hang out with a few of my friends I love watching movies and TV. And listen to music. Now my coworkers really don’t understand the full length of my intellectual disability I mean I don’t expect them to all get it, but I at least expect them to have some respect that there are things that I will, and will not do. Now traveling by myself as a guy who already has enough challenges getting through the day with his intellectual disability that’s just gonna leave a lot of anxiety. My coworker is telling me that he travels through Asia at 19 and he got all these experiences and all that. And I’m like that’s great but that’s not gonna be my life and no matter how much you force it down my throat that I should do this or do that it’s gonna make me not wanna do it. The only place I’ve ever that I want to travel to is Ireland because I think it’s beautiful there. I find it frustrating that other people can’t respect other peoples place in there life. I have a minimum wage job. I’m not gonna all of a sudden drop and say hey I’m gonna go travel the world. And if I do travel, my parents are helping me out because they understand my challenges. And my coworker says to me that my priorities are skewed. Even so I had like some psychedelic mushrooms on Thursday just in my house and my coworkers telling me well you shouldn’t really do psychedelic mushrooms inside your house with your dog. And I’m like dude how I have fun and what I do is gonna be different than you. I am planning on taking them again outside but it just hit spring. It’s not really that nice to go outside for a walk still and even so it gets to like -2 or 2°. And I’m like I still had weird things happened I was just inside my house and not outside and that may sound stubborn that I’m not willing to do new experiences or go to new places. But I really like having a one dimensional life. I’m not gonna kill myself at the end of the day just because I didn’t do this or do that I don’t have any regrets. I find it frustrating that my coworker can’t let things go, and he has the force down his views on me.

2023.03.26 20:07 amazingmrbrock UI Constantly freezing after boot

I installed this a few months ago but was having some minor visual glitches in game mode. I figured I'd leave it for a bit and start it up to see if some updates helped. Fired it up had the same visual glitches, ran available updates and now when it boots it works for like four seconds then just totally freezes up.
Running a gtx 1080, Ryzen 3600x, 4k tv for the screen.
I can't get into the web server to do anything because the security requires the screen to not be frozen. I managed to get the password prompt to show up just before steam booted up and froze. I've set a permanent password for now, really wish it didn't have a character limit. This is a lot of security for something connected to my tv.
Anyway I can make it turn off from the web service, I made it shut down and start up a few times hoping it the update configuration might fix it since it pops every boot.
So two three questions;
Any idea why this is freezing all of the time?
Can I disable the web server security completely somehow? My network is very private.
Do I have a bad install or something I feel like I'm having some weird problems.

2023.03.26 20:04 dharma_knight Benjamin Sisko's return to Starfleet wouldn't involve a return to the command division

At the end of DS9, Captain Sisko joins the Prophets in the Celestial Temple. It's ambiguous as to how long he'll really be with the Prophets - while Sisko's understanding of linear time will doubtless be helpful, it is ultimately the Prophets who are in control of him and his fate. Sisko theorizes he could be back "yesterday" indicating his time in the Celestial Temple could be over quickly, at least from the perspective of his loved ones and crew.
Sisko's lastest TV appearance is just a mention in Lower Decks. In 2381, we know that Sisko is apparently "working hard in the Celestial Temple." Whether this means Sisko has remained there continuously from DS9's ending, or that Sisko enters and leaves on his own is unknown. It does mean, however, that Sisko is still involved with the Celestial Temple, Bajor, and the Prophets.
In the many novels, comics, and stories feature Captain Sisko, the common trend dealing with his character is that he is thrust back into the captaincy. In other words, these stories take him away from Bajor, the Celestial Temple, and the Prophets. Such is the life of a career Starfleet officer. One assignment is not necessarily their forever home. Sisko is no stranger to moving from post to post; for example, after entering the command division on the Okinawa, Sisko is fast tracked to an first officer position under Leyton, yet, within roughly ten years, he becomes first officer of the Saratoga, but Wolf 359 cuts Sisko's rise to captaincy pre-DS9 short. The loss of losing his wife and ship sets Sisko's career back and he takes a "safe" posting as an administrator on the Martian shipyards. It's likely that if Wolf 359 never occurred, Benjamin Sisko would find himself captain of a ship shortly around the time DS9 starts. But the issue with viewing Sisko as a career officer that accepts one prestigious posting after the other is that it discards his character development. Sisko became utterly infatuated with Bajor, and not just because of his religious connection to the planet. He genuinely wanted to build a home their for his family.
That leads me to the point of this post - Sisko would not return to the command division of Starfleet if he returned from the Celestial Temple on a permanent or semi-permanent basis. He would not go gallivanting around the galaxy exploring and investigating. I put forward that Sisko would transfer out of the command division, if he remains in Starfleet at all. Sisko would very likely become the Federation's ambassador to Bajor. He's already ingratiated with the native politicians, the culture of Bajor, and the geopolitical aspects of that region of space. With Cardassia a smoldering ruin, the Dominion/Changeling threat hidden until ST:Picard's era, there is no major threat to Bajor except itself. While no one can doubt Sisko is a good solider, one who takes his orders and follows them, the time for soldiering is over. Especially when that soldier ascends to demigod status.
Sisko as ambassador to Bajor would likely oversee the integration of Bajor into the Federation - a very likely reality in my opinion. Bajor only remained independent because of Sisko's visions that joining the federation prior to the Dominion War would result in Bajor's destruction (because the Dominion would lay waste to the planet first during an invasion). Once Bajor is joined with the UFP, it's likely that Sisko would live out his life in peace with his family. Sisko, no longer needing to be an ambassador, could likely join archeological efforts as a civilian on Bajor, uncovering more ruins and researching the historical influence of the Prophets on Bajor.
In summary, Benjamin's Sisko's connection to Bajor and her people would result in him not accepting a new command following a permanent or semi-permanent return from the Celestial Temple. He is far more likely to accept a position in which he can stay close to Bajor, as an ambassador, for example. Sisko's future and life are intrinsically tied to Bajor - he would not leave that all for a new starship and new command half way across space.

2023.03.26 20:02 LadyAutumnn Small Tips for travel and training

Small Tips for travel and training
Just sharing my pretty birdie pictures too 🥰 her name is Molly and she's been in the family for ~15 years! Never been rehomed to a different family and never will! My parents got her for me and my bro when we were young and now that I'm an adult, Ive taken her. We've had so many adventures together and here's to many more!
Tips
For travel: Have a good family friend or two and/or a local avian boarding for when you must be away and feathered friend can't come. The closest avian boarding near me is an hour away, so depending on where you live, you may have to drive a bit as there's likely not many but the peace of mind is Soo worth it imo if they're a great facility with ample bird experience! My bird had a great time, she was so calm and happy when I came to get her after my venture.
Oor, do the work ahead of time and see if the bird may come with you! (Be sure to get a certificate of wellness from the vet first though and research state laws for exotics) I've taken Molly to a hotel before and brought everything to keep her area clean such as a mini vacuum, mini air purifier, cage papers, and cleaning spray. Yes these things might mean another suitcase but that hotel will never host a bird again if you leave the room a mess. Leave good impressions! When we travel, she lives out of her travel carrier but I also bring a tabletop tree that I set next to it so she could be out and feel comfy during the day. I let the TV play cartoons when I leave and put up a do not disturb sign. She's generally not a screamer (but she does sing) so noise isn't an issue. I also try to keep her routine similar to at home. I train with her when I'm in the room between outings. I've also taken her with me on outings if it's mostly outdoorsy, she has a backpack. When it's time for bed, round 9PM, I put her in her travel cage and in the closet (allows for her to get quality sleep without me disturbing her). left with zero complaints from the hotel.
For training: Everything I know I learned from BirdTricks on YouTube and their online store. They are one of a kind and have the most experience and value you'll ever find out there. Thier pillars correct so many behavioral issues. They've identified birds respond best when they're on a proper diet, get 12 hours of sleep, and with permission based training (they're more like cats imo. You earn their trust when you respect them). They also offer consultations for those with complicated birdies. (Not sponsored, just my experience--theyre awesome!).
Good luck out there everyone! 😊

2023.03.26 19:57 Johnny_Boy398 Hans Hüttig and the Afrikareich facelift proposal (Part two)

Hans Hüttig and the Afrikareich facelift proposal (Part two)
This is the second part of this proposal, for part one see here. It covers the buildup to the takeover by Hüttig, which is discussed here. The important part is that Hüttig does not start out as a Reichskommissar.
Also, this post comes with a light NSFW warning: considering the kind of regime Hüttig could make down to some details took a bit out of me. This is the first time something was actually a bit difficult for me to write. We continue.

Adolf Street post office, Dar Es Salaam. All four constituent parts of German afrika are home to a city from which power spreads: for Zentralafrika it is Leopoldville, for Sudwest Afrika it is Windhuk, for Rhodesia it is Salisbury, and for Ostafrika it is Dar es Salaam. While the other central cities have seen some level of investment and development, Dar es Salaam has been chronically neglected by her masters, with new buildings being metal boxes meant to serve some administrative or security purpose.
At last we come to the big one: the nonsense action which starts the second round of Africa content, which makes the continent infinitely more interesting and fun to play as well as greatly simplifying/streamlining German gameplay, not to mention giving Japan an opportunity to exert influence in Africa. Hüttig must come to power. But Hüttig's coup as it is totally insane: why would a man so loyal and so unambitious as Hüttig commit treason just to form an unworkable state? For reasons I have discussed before I still think that Hüttig, or at least someone should critically destabilize Africa after the conclusion of the South African War for the sake of gameplay and narrative. As such a comedy of errors must be made in order to push Huttig into the position.
Over the course of the South Africa War the three Reichskommissars have only grown to hate each other more, and when the war ends all three will accuse each other of various crimes. Cooruption, negligence, obstruction of the war effort, violation of blood protection laws and willful flouting of the Colonial Office's commands, perhaps even up to treason. Many of these accusations are true, many are false, but the fact remains that even after the war is over German Afrika threatons to tear itself apart. In order to solve this issue Germania will order a congress in Dar es Salaam to begin soon after the wars end and call all the kommissars to it. But disaster (or justice) strikes, when Eicke is killed by a car bomb when he arrives at this conference. Suspecting foul play by his rivals and the other kommissars Hüttig shall spring into action to lock down the city and order that the high ranking men present be brought into “protective custody” by the SS. However this is seen by the security details of the kommissars as foul play by the SS, and they will resist this arrest. With neither side knowing how to deescalate and suspicions of treason running high, someone fires a shot, and after a quick but bloody battle both other kommissars are dead: Krogmann caught in the crossfire and Ruberg choosing suicide before capture.
Things are now in crisis: the RKs were exhausted by the war, and their leadership has been suddenly decapitated. Hüttig, always a man of action, declares that the Africa holdings will temporarily be under martial law, with himself as the highest local military authority exercising control. Thanks to the fact that men loyal to him took over the TV and radio station in Dar Es Salaam Hüttig's message and orders were quickly spread across Africa, resulting in a coup with minimum resistance to the takeover. However Germany sees things differently: getting the story from those who escaped the battle and under the influence of the colonial office and business interests Hüttig is portrayed as a mentally unhinged radical who killed the kommissars and seized power for himself illegally. Germany thus demands that Hüttig turn himself in and immediately reverse his actions. Hüttig however believes that this would spell the doom of German Africa: the situation is chaotic and if leadership were to be cut off now the RKs would surely fail. Hüttig begs Germania to reconsider their actions and professes his innocence, but all such efforts fail. And so Hüttig does the only thing he thinks he can: for the first time in his life he refuses a direct order. Germania declares him a traitor and his administration illegal. German Africa is now alone, cut off, and surrounded by enemies. In one year, it will all crumble.

The Reichsadler has become ubiquitous in German afrika, being used to signify state or party property, German authority or simply to show off German dominance. However the Totenkopf (left) will surge in use after Hüttigs coup. More than the pride or glory of an eagle Hüttigs reign is signified by death: a promise of punishment to those who do not submit and of resolve to those who punish. In the end, only death will be this systems legacy.
Hüttig now has two missions: keep the natives under the German thumb and build a case to exonerate himself in Germany. Both of these missions are impossible. For the latter it is impossible because the car bomb was made by a native: the other kommissars had nothing to do with it. It was Huttig’s orders, however imperfectly followed, which got them both killed. It is Hüttig's sense of self-importance which now threatens Aryan rule more than anything else. Hüttig cannot exonerate himself because Hüttig is guilty, even though he refuses to acknowledge it and will purge anyone who does. All efforts put into investigating the other Kommissars will merely be fewer resources put towards suppressing the now rapidly rising resistance from both White, Black and Asian. So, let's see how Hüttig digs the grave of Germany in the dark continent by trying to save it.
Hüttig is in a difficult spot: the Fuhrer has declared him a traitor, he has no money, few guns, and even fewer true loyalists. The British are on the verge of open rebellion against him, while the natives are far beyond that. The administration is understaffed and overextended, all while every power in the world wants a piece of what they assume is his doomed empire. Everyone who can is trying to get out, and most who can't want to take his head: what is to be done? Hüttig has too few guns to kill, no money to bribe, no charisma to convince and no legitimacy to command. Only one tool remains to him: Fear.
It is a natural end for him: living a life in the concentration camp system, even at the top of it, has a way of brutalizing and warping a man. So, in the name of order and survival until germany returns to its senses a new system shall be put in place. Greed and selfish ambition have no place in this order: instead all shall act as cogs in the machine, selflessly fulfilling their allotted purpose on pain of a brutal and public death. At the top of this machine is Hans Hüttig: he shall work every hour of the day to maintain the system and to find a way back into Germany’s good graces. He shall do this because he fears the Fuhrer and his condemnation, and because he fears becoming a traitor and a failure in the end. Just below him are his armed SS lieutenants, commanding the remains of the German forces. They shall spend weeks and months in the field hunting down dissidents and reminding all that there are worse things than death. They shall do this because they fear Hüttig: that his favor will be suddenly withdrawn and they and all that are close to them will fall into powerlessness, and perhaps even be whipped to death by Hüttig himself.

Hüttig himself may be committed to his new system, but those who enforce it for him are often less so. Men like Hellmuth Becker are able to rise to high positions as commanders, and then use that power to engorge themselves. Hüttig has heard the rumors of course of mass corruption, rape and drunkenness, but so long as these men remained afraid of him and terrifying to their subordinates, he would overlook such things. The number of men willing to work with him is too small to do anything else.
Below them are the white soldiers: they will follow orders to the letter and with desperate energy, fighting the traitor and the rebel with their bare hands if necessary. Indeed, though they are given weapons the chronic shortage of ammunition will make the enduring symbol of the terror the machete. They shall do this because they fear their officers. Holding full discretion over the life and death of their men, and enforcing “discipline” with draconian physical punishment or humiliation, the wrath of a high officer is the only thing the soldier fears more than the enemy waiting for them in the jungle. Below the German soldier is the native auxiliary and porter. They shall work the most dangerous or difficult jobs: being sent to clear out tunnels or marched into ambushes just to find where the enemy is. They will die in their thousands, but this is better than confronting their fear of the white soldiers: the abuse handed out by their superiors trickles down to abusing their lesser “allies”. It is not uncommon for a soldier to beat and harass for trivial reasons, and with even the lowest privat technically outranking the native, all orders must be obeyed on pain of punishment from every white soldier in earshot, as they gang up to make an example of someone. And yet the black soldier cannot run: the stigma of collaboration is stuck to them forever, and the German camp is their only home now.
Below the armed men are the civilians. Even free whites have the same basic duty to the state: to stay in their station and contribute their sweat to the machine. In the effort to keep everyone and everything in its place, Hüttig will first ensure that none can escape: how can the Aryan maintain himself in africa if his comrades seek to flee? No, this is the most critical hour of battle, and a rout will not be permitted. As such all means of transport which could be used to escape will be seized by the state, or failing that will be scuttled. Airplanes, helicopters, ships: anything which cannot be taken will be burned. Having thus placed the civilians backs to the wall one clear order shall be sent: hold the line. Hüttig shall essentially decree that time has stopped: resignations and retirements will not be accepted, nor may one change their job or location unless ordered to do so by their superiors. When Germany returns to africa, they shall find everything just as they left it, except with new, loyal men having taken over the top positions.
Another thing will need to change: wages are to be slashed, and commerce taken under the control of the state. Hüttig shall use his administrative experience to ensure that whites will not starve, but little else. Those at the top who protest this shall be deemed too soft or unreliable, and will be replaced with men handpicked by Hüttig himself. The less intelligent will refuse Hüttig and declare themselves loyal to the fuhrer, or freedom, or the people, and say that without fear they die but once. Hüttig shall respond: once is enough. Those with more foresight have three options: take the guns they still have and run into the jungle, resisting as the natives have been for years. Or they will accept their new stations and serve loyally, praying that it will not be so bad and will end soon. And finally, the easy way out. For fear of execution, for fear of starvation, for fear of Hüttig, the Aryan will work as they never have before: nothing else will suffice.

As Hans places German afrika on what amounts to permanent mobilization, he will also seek to eliminate \"useless eaters\", putting even white women and children to work producing weapons and other supplies needed by his army. Only those who can prove to provide some already critical service will be permitted to keep their old jobs, such as Kai-Uwe von Hassel, who maintains his productive agricultural estates.
One further step below is the black civilian, the villager or newly disposed Évolués. The state has only one demand for them: do not resist. Stay in your villages or slums and provide the tax of coin or food that we demand. Do this, and you will only be shown the face of terror, rather than its full wrath. But as Africa has suddenly been cut off from global trade or German support, those taxes are set to rise quickly, and the method of collecting it barbarized. And here we get to the meat of the resistance and ultimate downfall of Hüttig's reign: the continent-wide war which his methods unleash. For all the resistance that the white settlers will put up, whether passive by the abused bureaucracy, covert by those with remaining contact with Germany, or open armed revolt by part of Rhodesian commandos and non-compliant German garrisons, none of it would survive or be half effective if not for the great upswell of rebellion which occurred after Hüttig's takeover. For despite the fear that Hüttig and his Deathsheads are able to inspire in the average African, the hatred and desperation they create is just as strong. And as the Germans are run to exhaustion and the picture of Hüttig's omnipotence begins to crack, that hatred will burst into a flame of rebellion which Hüttig cannot quench.
But not for lack of trying. Hüttig will attempt to expand his systemic terrorism beyond ostafrika and into the congo, sud-west africa and rhodesia, making a great show of executing “traitors” and sending out infernal columns into “bandit zones”. At first this new show of force and creation of fear shall appear to work: many heads are brought back and previously restive areas report a sharp decrease in ambushes. But it is merely a change in tactics: the next time news of a german patrol coming is heard, the civilians will not simply stay and accept: they will run. When the german marches into the unknown he will find only empty houses and boobytraps. And once the marching lines are expected, they will come under attack from the warlords and revolutionaries surrounding them. As low on ammo as the Germans may be, the natives remain even worse equipped: at times having nothing more than improvised firearms and spears. But the ratio of losses has been rendered irrelevant by Hüttig's fanaticism. Even if 100 africans were lost for every white soldier it would still not be enough, and whatever losses the native armies take can be regained by recruiting those who have fled the germans before. In order to hunt this resistance down large formations must be mustered in order to comb the brush: despite all the technological advantages for the Germans, the only way to reliably destroy a resistance cell is to outnumber it, surround it, and then smash it with brute force. This can only be done in local areas for limited time, and while it is being done there will not be enough men to protect other areas, allowing the native resistance there to sabotage or kill in revenge.
This back and forth between the top of the totem pole and the native resistance is what causes the devastation of africa. The resistance burns plantations, bombs roads and rails, wreaks villages which have aided the enemy or their own native rivals, and raid mines. In return the Germans burn villages and forests, take mass hostages, poison water sources and salt the earth. In a contested area this will happen multiple times, and leave an area utterly devastated: cities cut off from the countryside and villages isolated and overcrowded. The whites may flee to the coastal cities, but the others are not so lucky. The only reason this warfare does not mean the end of africa for generations is because it is mercifully short. And indeed, some isolated areas will scarcely know that anything has changed at all. But overall the economic and social potential of africa will be devastated by this short period.

A less tangible aspect of this devastation is its effects on the children of Africa. As Hüttig seeks to fill out his ranks he shall resort to conscripting children into his SS units, and facing the pressure of total war many African factions have done the same. Such brutalized children will have a difficult time reintegrating back into a peaceful society or a regular job, further poisoning the well of Africa's future.
Why it is so short will be discussed soon, but first we must turn to the final and lowest tier of Hüttig's Africa: the slaves. The tightening control over black and white, armed and civilian alike has made everyone feel trapped, but even the most meager black village can take solace in the fact that they are not slaves. For white traitors or well-known resistance figures, elaborate and public execution is the order of the day. But for most this is considered a mercy compared to the standard punishment of the rest: enslavement in the mines and factories of the state. Petty thieves, those delinquent on their taxes, rebel soldiers, or those accused of providing succor for the enemy all receive the same sentence: labor until death. Those who can flee, risking the wild rather than the chain-gang, but for everyone else they become the backbone of African industry. Hüttig needs ammo, weapons, fuel, food and paper to power his machine, and all of those require human hands to create. They are found in the masses of slaves captured by the army/security service. Life in these places is one meant to be short, dehumanizing, and painful. Populated as it is by “criminals'', the purpose is to destroy men as much as it is to produce items. For further details one can look to the system of extermination camp labor employed by nazi germany in real life: just know that death by torture may be preferable.
Of course such a system is only able to hold itself together with the full backing of a higher power, and Germany has left Hüttig to burn. As such, though this system of hatred, terror and exploitation will no doubt scar the African consciousness for centuries it will not permanently cripple the body: in little more than one year Hüttig will die, the nations will break free, and the future will begin. This ultimate fate for the rogue state is because of the systemic flaws of and mass resistance in the state itself, but the reason for its quick death is because of the actions of Germany, Japan and America. When Hüttig was declared a traitor it was a clear signal to the world: Germany had lost its grip on the dark continent. That meant it was open season for anyone who wanted to influence the aftermath of what was surely a doomed regime: and that included all of them. Japan wanted to protect its western flank on the Indian ocean, America wished to ensure its dominance of the atlantic, and both were morally outraged by the German crimes on the continent. As such both America and Japan will go about contacting resistance fighters, arming and training them so they can keep up with the deaths heads. For America this typically means those groups which are not explicitly communist in nature, including tribe or kingdom leaders who have gone into revolt and rhodesian resistance. However the nature of africa means that often such groups do not exist, or are weak. As such America is a pragmatist, supporting anyone who will wield a gun against their rivals. Japan is much the same, but with a bias towards the pan-africans. Distrustful of Americans as a “white, western imperialist” nation and often passed up by American support for fear of domestic political consequences, the trend is that Japan is the only one left willing and able to help. Though neither side truly trusts the other, all are forced into this marriage of convenience. With the alternative being potential destruction for the africans and a superpower controlled continent for the Japanese, it is a marriage both are willing to make work. Germany meanwhile looks for their proxies not outside of the state but within it. Many of the administrators and officers of Huttig’s regime are still loyal to Germania, either out of ideological conviction or the memory of better working conditions. This is doubally important because of the vast distances involved in africa: radio is often the preferred method of giving and receiving orders. The only thing stopping administrative revolt is the web of mutual suspicion and paralyzing fear created by Hüttig. Through bribery, protection, assassination and calculated sabotage Germany can make it incredibly difficult for Hüttig to rule, and can protect some of their assets from his madness. For all three however these are only side games, done to strengthen their position, not to secure it. For the true goal a coup de grâce will be needed: the death of Hans Hüttig.
Whether it be by Germany's scheme of organizing a coup arresting Hüttig and dragging him back for his trial and hanging, the Japanese plan to infiltrate the capital city and have Hüttig shot, the American plan to poison him and have him slip out of the picture quietly, or one of the countless native plots to have their justice, Hüttig's long overdue death shall set in motion the wind of change across the continent. The Europeans will fall back to the few cities they still control, the various warlords and revolutionaries will claim everything else, and the second scramble for Africa shall begin as the superpowers attempt to shape the continent in their interests. Africa has at last woken up from its collective nightmare, but history marches on, and what Africa will look like ten years from now is anyone's game. Unstable states lacking in legitimacy, jealous foreign powers who see opportunity, the promise of new ideologies and hatreds old and new promise that mere freedom is not the end of Africa's story. The long night is over, but what shall the sun rise to see?

To the strongest.

2023.03.26 19:45 senseibull AITA for telling my wife that our house isn’t for sharing with her family as she see’s fit, without running it by me first?

Went away to Spain for weekend, family friends looked after our 2 young children over nighttime and there was a handover to my wife’s mum in the late afternoon before evening we were due home.
Our plane home was slightly ahead of schedule so I mentioned to my wife to ask her mum to keep the kids awake for us so we could both say hello to them properly on our return, read them stories and put them to bed. Due to what I mentioned, in my head I expected to come home to the kids in their PJs and calming down time ready for stories. She text her mum to keep them awake for us but didn’t elaborate further.
When we arrived home after travelling, we came home to her mum and her sister both there chatting away at the kitchen table not really keeping an eye on the kids, our kids weren’t ready for bed, one of my kids was running around the house and her sister’s kid and my other son were playing unsupervised on my PlayStation and my £3,000 TV in the best room. This is usually out of bounds for my own children unless supervised, I want to keep some nice things where I can and my wife knows how much the TV means to me, I worked hard to save up for it and put time and effort into researching the best model.
I was not at all pleased, after walking around Barcelona all day and then travelling for 6 hours inc flying I did not want to come home to this situation at night so I argued with my wife after they left.
During this argument it transpired that my wife had told her mum about a week or two before that it was OK to invite her sister and her son around if she wanted, to keep our kids company. This was never run by me before we went away and never communicated to me, if I had known we could have discussed it properly, discussed boundaries and avoided an argument. I went on further to explain that I obviously didn’t have a problem with her sister and her kid coming to our house generally, but at that time it was inappropriate, I said they could have left earlier before we got home and it wouldn’t have been as much of an issue but I didn’t want them at our house past the kids usual bedtime and also unsupervised in the best room.
All this upsets my wife and she thinks I’m an unreasonable ass hole, she feels because she organised childcare she had a right to invite who she wants from her family to our house to help out, but I get the impression because she didn’t run it by me because she knew I’d take an issue with it and that she brought the argument on herself by not communicating with me. Iv explained I’m not totally unreasonable but I would have said for them to not play in the best room and for them to leave earlier before we go home so our kids were calming down.
I think my boundaries are not being respected here and that it’s sly for not telling me in advance.
AITA?

2023.03.26 19:37 Revered1 So...Let's Have a Fiery Debate about Ghost Adventures Shall We? I'll Go First....

Ghost Adventures has been on the air for what, about 15 years now? I don't think that I have missed an episode in all those years.
I must say though, I have gotten to the point where I watch the show now, only because I feel kinda obligated to because I have invested so much time into it, not because the show is what it used to be.
The first several seasons, the show was raw, real, it had the feel of just three dudes walking around a haunted place (not just in Nevada and California, my god, what the hell is that all about?), and were legitimately catching paranormal activity.
From their investigations at Bobby Mackey's, to Goldfield, to the Moon River Brewery (my favorite episode), to their investigations overseas. They were awesome. They were suspenseful. Shocking.
The original format of the show was the reason why people were hooked. Three guys, a few cameras, a few pieces of duct tape in the shape of an X on the ground.
THAT, was the show. And it was the best paranormal show on TV. Even better than Ghost Hunters, which was the pioneer of paranormal shows becoming main stream.
Now what has Ghost Adventures become?
It's now become a Hollywood drama. Every episode Zak is getting possessed by some random object like a doll or mailbox or something.
The production has become almost cheesy. If you are an avid fan, let's be honest you can basically predict the outcome of the show and what is "going happen next". It has become so predictable.
The show has become about the guys, specifically Zak, and not about the suspense.
He has basically made the show a theatrical drama that is based on him and his "feelings".
That shit needs to stop and they should go back to their roots. Making it about the evidence and the suspense, NOT about the characters on the show.
And now comes the revelations about what Zak did with Destination Fear.
I gotta be honest, and I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way. Destination Fear was the best paranormal show on TV and it really isn't even close.
The show was about the evidence and the suspense. The format was awesome. The locations were even better. Every week it was a different evil looking place with a dark history. And Dakota, Chelsea, Tanner and Alex seem like really cool people that are just there to get spooked and show you what they found. It was NEVER about them as invidviuals.
How many times did they get "possessed" like Zak does on every episode. Never.
How many times was the show about them? Never
How many times did they try to "oversell" the evidence they found? Never
Best paranormal show on TV, and to be honest it wasn't even close.
Now they are canceled. And rumor has it, Zak had a role in that.
Did he notice that other shows were gaining steam and fans were leaving his theatrical dramas? Ghost Brothers, Portals to Hell, Kindred Spirits, Destination Fear, all of them were gaining steam on GA. All of them.
Ghost Adventures needs to go back to its roots and stop this nonsense drama series that they created. I know for a fact that I will continue to watch Project Fear when they go on Youtube. I hope that the other shows, especially Ghost Brothers, do something similar. That show was awesome.
Zak - knock off that fake acting that you are doing. Stop getting "possessed" by random objects at these locations. Get the hell out of Nevada and California. And stop interfering in other shows.
Go back and watch the first 5 seasons of GA and remember what got you here.
It most certainly isn't this.

2023.03.26 19:32 bassetlover007 Meghan’s two wars

There is a two part war that Meghan herself declared privately behind closed doors to more than one public figure and at least one journalist. It’s not just a media phrase. Meghan sees this as an information war wherein she is the police state and we are her citizens.
Flashback to Megxit. Meghan leaked it to Laineygossip before it hit mainstream news to force Harry’s decision into leaving when he was still on the fence. They went on the “freedom flight”. The Sandringham summit did not go their way. They really believed the half in, half out commercial apparatus would be granted to them. It was not. They had thousands of boxes of merchandise with SUSSEX ROYAL—pencils, shirts, backpacks—sitting in inventory that had to be jettisoned. Meg was basically a sitting LuLaRoe duck. She was utterly livid with the Queen over her forbidding use of the word Royal. She declared war—whether she actually informed the Queen of this, directly or indirectly, we’ll never know. I personally think she did and QEII called her bluff.
Elaine Lui of Laineygossip and Meghan’s number one ideological acolyte long before Scobie was the first to be briefed, off the record, by Meghan herself, of two wars which would come to materialize. Oprah was after. Part one: war on the British media. This would be facilitated by leveraging the American media, thus far friendly to their PR coverage, to use to destroy the British media. Oprah first, then Netflix. Use Oprah to decry the entire UK as tabloid frenzied racist zombies who believe everything written. You know what happens from here.
Part two: war on the BRF. First William, then Kate, then Charles, then Camilla last. This would be achieved by the set of memoirs. The rest is history.
There was a war map, contingency planning, and MANY plans drawn into place. Do not be foolish enough to think Meghan did not fancy herself a master strategist like Napoleon or Machiavelli. She did. It is hard to be objective and judge ourselves for what we really are. Meghan was so confident this would be a quick Blitzkrieg, a double victory, that she even told Michelle Obama of these plans in a private meeting sometime before Oprah. Michelle Obama was “highly alarmed”. She advised Meghan to take it slow, regroup and rethink, do not start a war, let alone two wars, that you might lose. She could not abide Meghan and said privately she found her fanaticism disturbing. Meghan probably shrugged this off since she had Oprah on her side—not a chance that Oprah wasn’t debriefed on all this before the interview.
Meghan did not consider that the first loss would have grave repercussions for the next siege. When you go to war with one country’s entire press, the global press becomes your enemy. First Britain mobilized, then Australia, then the rest of European reporters. FINALLY, in 2022, the resistance to coercive propaganda beyond the boundaries of race baiting began to take root in America. Even PR magazines like the Cut started to fact check Meghan. When Tom Bower’s book came out, nearly every podcaster in the world had some joke or negative opinion about Meg as a cartoon character villain. It was the beginning of the end.
What did this mean for Part Two of the Meganic wars? The golden goose was dead. Harry broke the spell of collective hysteria, awe and mystique. He was no longer a prince, he was a crybaby petulant wooden boy on a reality show that only had one half of its headline characters on stage. The purported villains, his stated archnemesis did not even glance his way or offer his show a piteous “no comment”. At best it was an Oxygen TV special. In alienating the press on a global level their credibility was so obliterated no more accusations against anybody would be believed. William won by never lifting a finger.
I have to wonder what part three will look like, for Meghan is not someone who recognizes defeat or has the ability to discard plans in the wake of unexpected outcome. It stands to reason that her next move will be another offensive from a different angle, something that preserves her victimhood by attacking her enemy obliquely from the side of her children, but does not learn the lessons from two consecutive failures. A memoir about Charles snubbing his black grandson at the coronation and endowing his black granddaughter with more of the same generational colonial and imperial traumas, etc. And so on. There will always be a way to draw more blood from her arm.
