It's 1903, I have no peasants, roughly 2.5 billion gdp and 800 million pops. 200 million of those pops are gainfully employed and the other 200 million are unemployed. The other 400 million are dependents. My standard of living is 13.5
I have like 8000 construction and haven't increased it in like 30 years because as soon as I got proportional taxation as I put taxes down to very low to ease the burden on my pops. I'm paying like 2.5 million pounds in welfare on just level one, it sucks but it's not that bad I'm still making money. I just really need to deal with unemployment. My annual pop growth is like 10 million. I swear I'm going to hit 1 billion pops in the next 30 years.
I know Qing is played very differently then all other nations by the nature of their starting situation. My question is, should I raise taxes so that I can make roughly 8 million more pounds to increase construction or should I keep going on very low taxes since I'm out of peasants and on graduated taxation.

I’m stuck, you guys. My spouse (31m) and I (31f) have been married for 12 years. Married at 19YO, have two kids and he’s been AD military our entire marriage. We’ve moved all over, countless deployments, TDY’s, etc. In those last 12 years, I struggled greatly with my mental health. I had suicidal thoughts starting the first year of our marriage from a traumatic event…went on & off meds, saw therapists all throughout the years and could never find the time or chance to start a career or go to school because of how volatile and ever changing his work life was. I stayed home with the kids, gained a ton of weight, and he swept my mental health struggles under the rug for a really long time, and didn’t want to communicate with me about my feelings, stating self-harm and suicidal thoughts were for cowards…while also going off and excelling in his career. I still tried to be as supportive as possible…he’s the breadwinner and gave our family so much, and I’ll never not acknowledge that. Our lives orbited around him and his work. After awhile…I grew to become very resentful and bitter over feeling like I was drowning without help. I eventually began to have suicidal ideations again and realized I had to do something.
For the last two years, I’ve went back to school, lost so much weight that I’m in the best shape of my life now, found my dream career, changed my habits, my appearance and learned how to love myself. I’m realizing that my spouse has remained stagnant in all of this. He states he’s proud of me but his actions say he has no intention of changing. He has no passions, hobbies, and does very little outside of work. I recently found out that he knew all along about my suicidal thoughts during our first year and he states “I didn’t know what to do with that”. I’ve come to realize I’m still bitter and who I am now isn’t happy with this marriage. I feel detached, have no romantic feelings for him, and feel more at peace when I’m by myself…but I still love him as the father of our children and don’t want to hurt him…but I think the last 12 years has worn down on me so hard and I’m ready to fall in love with myself and what I’m capable of. He’s stating that I blindsided him with these thoughts and feelings and he’s extremely hurt and angry but has no intentions of leaving or giving up…but I’ve pretty much already shut down. The thought of him with someone else doesn’t bother me and I just want to be by myself. How do I reconcile this? I’m just so tired. I know counseling is an option, we’ve been there and done that throughout the years and it got us nowhere. …Where do I go from here?

It’s been a month since my (38cisF) then-husband (44mtf) told me that she is a woman. And I am so proud and joyful for her, that she can finally be who she is. I know it’s not fair, and that it’s not a choice. I know it’s happening. And I know she’s the same person on the inside. Love doesn’t see gender, and all that. But my love looked like a person who will no longer exist in that form. My love was of a gender that I’m sexually attracted to, and when she’s dressed I don’t feel romantic toward her at all. My love was sexy in t-shirts and jeans, but is now wearing a wig, heels and skirts. My love made me feel like a woman. Now, I feel like she is more of a woman in an aesthetic sense than I am, and I feel like a clod in comparison.
Tonight, she told me that because our sex life was pretty sporadic anyway, it shouldn’t matter, and we could just be in love in an emotional way. But I don’t know if I can do that. That sounds like platonic love to me, so why would we stay married? Why not just be best friends? Keep the love but allow each other to find new romantic partners? (Although I don’t know if I could ever be with anyone else.)
I know I’m not supposed to make this about me. And I am so happy for her, and for the life that she has ahead of her. But I wonder what that means for my life, too.

I am just asking this since most posts on here about it seem to be about hating it.

With the high indexation rate of HECS this year, I'm looking at paying off my debt via a voluntary contribution.
I have $15k left, with my compulsory repayment this year being roughly $10k.
So I need to pay off an extra $5k. As the indexation is applied on June 1, any balance after that will still be indexed.
BUT my $10k compulsory payment doesn't get processed until I lodge my tax, so probably July/August.
Does that mean I need to pay off the full $15k before June 1 via a voluntary contribution to avoid the indexation? Then do I get the roughly $10k compulsory contribution, that my employer has been witholding (well taking out of my pay and paying to ATO), back as part of a tax refund?

Hello, I am interested in learning more about a woman with PDA and have some questions.
I have previously dated this woman, starting from July and taking a break for a couple of months. We started seeing each other again from February.
I really want to understand her better, and I consider myself a very understanding, accepting, and patient person. We don't talk about the future or the past, and my intention is to have a romantic relationship. I believe she would like to see where things go as well, but we cannot discuss it. I want to ask her about it, but I know it would be a demand and expectation that would not give a positive response.I can live with not discussing it and let time show where things lead, but it's not easy to navigate.
Right now, we are focusing on building trust in our relationship, and that's fine with me, but I find it difficult to navigate her changing moods. Sometimes she is very open, and other times she is closed off.
For example, she wrote that she hoped she would feel better for her meeting, and I asked her which meeting it was for, but she didn't respond, which is fine in principle, but I don't understand what depends on the change. She usually answers, and when it comes to trust, I can feel it's an attack on me, and thoughts like "Have I done something since she doesn't want to tell me?" can come up. I am spending time reading about PDA, and I read that it's good to give choices, so I asked her, "May I ask a question?" which she answered no to. It developed into her attacking me, feeling misunderstood, feeling like there is too much focus on her, etc. Should I take it personally?
She also writes that she understands why I feel overlooked and understands me, but I don't feel that in the situation. I understand with my question that it was a wrong approach since she can feel it as a threat, an expectation to answer, a demand, etc. I wrote some long messages trying to explain, show my understanding and acceptance of the situation, and she ends up getting anxious and stressed. I feel frustrated that I can't explain myself because she can make assumptions about situations that I don't agree with. Now I am left with irritation, feeling misunderstood and unheard.
She is also going through a hard time, have the flue, feels burned out at the moment so there are many things that can trigger her and she can unmask, and I wish she would tell me how she feels because I don't know if it's because of those things or something else, and I can't even ask her because then it's a question that can create pressure.
I also cannot judge whether I appear weak by conceding and saying I understand, and I will implement it, or if it's better to express my frustration. I only want to appear understanding and show her that I accept her feelings and frustrations, that I listen to what she says, that I don't want to focus on her, and I don't want her to perceive me as weak. I hope she understands that I mean it with respect. She is not a friend or a child, but a grown woman, and I want to learn how to balance when to stand up for myself, express myself, and when to show understanding, acceptance, and "surrender."
For those of you in a relationship with a woman with PDA or for women, how do you balance your understanding while still expressing your dissatisfaction with a situation?

I (39F 5'7" 180lbs massachusetts Caucasian) had bursitis diagnosed in my left hip at 20 from college soccer. It's bothered me from time to time over the years, and there have been seasons (I still play soccer) that I've nursed it the whole season. I'm the goalie, and if you're familiar with soccer, it hurts if I take too many goal kicks (kick the ball on the ground) but I can punt the ball all day (out of my hands). My question is, with that in mind which part of my hip is the issue? I ask because I recently joined a gym and after I walked on the treadmill for half an hour I could barely walk for several days because my hip was killing me. Next time I used the recumbent bike and i was fine after. If anyone could give me any advice or info I would appreciate it, I'm trying to get back in shape but it feels counterproductive if I'm damaging my hip. Thank you

California passed SB-197, which gave birth to the housing program California Dream for All. This program isn't available to apply for until 3/27/2023; however, the guidelines and details about the program have been released. You can verify all the info in my post here. This program is similar to the 10% down program CalFHA had last year. Like that previous program, this program only has a set amount of funds available.
What is the program?
Through shared appreciation, The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) will provide 20% down payment assistance, in the form of a silent second loan. There is not a monthly payment associated with this loan; however, should you sell, refi, or transfer ownership, you will have to repay the loan they provided to you, as well as a portion of the appreciation. This loan does not turn into a grant.

$500,000 purchase price.
CalHFA will give you $100,000
This amount doesn't include what you would owe through shared appreciation.
What does shared appreciation mean?
CalHFA is entitled to 15% or 20% of the appreciation gained the purchase date. Whether you pay 15% or 20% will depend on your income. Per the guidelines, buyers whose income is between 80% - 150% of your county's Area Median Income (AMI) pay 20% of the appreciation. Most buyers are going to be within this range. If your income is less than 80% then CalHFA will only take 15%.

Convincing Wife to Quit or Go Part Time

TLDR - Our passive income covers all our expenses, plus some.
Kids' college is fully funded, no debt, paid off house, blah, blah.
My wife is still killing herself working as an OR nurse even though she could quit altogether if she wanted.
We're at the point where we are saving her entire paycheck by just shoving it into our brokerage account.
Her theory is we should just keep going with the money grab as long as possible.
I've always handled the bills and investments and I keep telling her we're good.

I live on a canal boat currently moored at Alperton. The amount of plastic that I see along the canal and in general in this area in particular is disgraceful. In the past week, I have seen 3 dead animas, nestled amongst a huge churn of plant matter and plastic waste. This makes me so sad.

I have a major gripe with a lot of shows. They promise the idea of a gripping story and compelling protagonists that you get invested in… and never reward it. There’s always something delaying the good ending. And Ted Lasso is completely defeating that dissatisfaction.
I was worried after Season 1 and mildly after season 2 we were going to get a show where emotional plot lines were satisfyingly sorted… but that the achievements would be put down as “look how well they did for their situation” rather than achieving something rewarding.
Season 3 Episode 2 has dispelled that and I’m so glad. The draw against Chelsea signals we are actually going to get a reward for the character’s perseverance. There’s going to be no “well they still went back down but look at all the emotional plot lines they got through”. It signals we will actually see Richmond achieve something. Which would be far more rewarding for viewers who have become invested in them, than an emotional plot line.
Long may it continue

I've used it before and absolutely adored it. It's the only thing that made my face glow. So I tried it again... And I'm definitely allergic.
The only ingredient that I always have issues with is niacinamide. Which it contains. Every product I've tried that had it did this to me.. Flushed skin with a rash. I always hoped it was cat allergies but with no cats around it's still happening. Which makes me sad because the benefits could really help me.
So, what's a good dupe? The other ingredients obviously made my skin happy. Because the first time I ever used it I woke up with the most lovely skin... But after using it like, twice.. My rash ruined everything :(

Hello, the Game Sons of the Forest is a very engaging and fun game to play.. it has a ai that helps you troughout the game and guides you with very funny moments. It is very beautiful with its graphics and is very similar to the first game that i played on my first account. The story of the first game was amazing. Altough i didnt knew at first that there was even a story when i first started it. Once i got off the plan and went off to explore i got lost in the world trying to survive and build a house for myself away from the creatures of the island. After i found my first dungeon i realized there might be more to the game. So i left my tiny house and went off to explore the huge open world. After dozens of hours in the dark alone i found a big hole in the ground which i realized there might be a story. The rest i wont spoil since many people start the game too. Its a short game story wise but long game playwise. I think the 2nd game has the same aspect. But here i want this game to see what they improved and if there is a linear storyline to the game. I heard there are zip lines now so i wanna try out new mechanics. Unfortunaly the game has no discount on the spring sale and still costs around 28.00 which is fine.
